A big plus for this year’s model is the bumped up power from 211 horsepower last year to 220 horsepower in 2014. The 2.0-liter turbocharged four-cylinder engine outputs 258 pound-feet of torque. This is teamed with either a front-wheel drive with continuously variable transmission or the quattro all-wheel drive with a six-speed manual or an eight-speed automatic transmission. Acceleration is a breeze, with tests taking the2014 Audi A4 from zero to sixty in about 6.6 seconds. Even with that, it offers decent fuel economy with EPA ratings at 24 mpg in the city, 32 mpg for highway driving and 27mpg combined for the front-wheel drive. For the all-wheel drive manual, it goes down to 22 city, 32 highway and 26 combined and for the automatic version, it’s at 20 city, 29 highway and 24 combined.

The cabin and cargo area are spacious with legroom fit for an average-sized adult and a trunk with a 12.4 cubic-foot size. Other standard features include a sunroof, cruise control, automatic climate control, a tilt-and-telescoping steering wheel and eight-way power front seats with four-way driver lumbar adjustment.
