Full Review

The 2016 Toyota Sequoia sports a powerful V8 engine that handles off-road duty, hauls boats and stores ample cargo, to name a few of its several capabilities. Despite its toughly refined exterior, the full-size SUV presents a uniquely comfortable interior core that comes with an array of technological features and gadgets to engage and assist your driving experience. Known for its rugged feel and dynamic functionality, the Sequoia definitely gets the job done.

On the outside, the 2016 Toyota Sequoia shares a similar styling theme with pickups and thus incorporates these traits into its exterior design. As a truck type SUV, the updated Sequoia exhibits a tenacious presence with a design that is clearly masculine and imposing upfront. The vehicle stands dominatingly tall and features some seriously handsome styling features, like a high beltline, tall hood, imposing chrome grille, flared fenders and rippled sheet metal. These components definitely combine to create a massive presence on the road.

The 2016 Sequoia is available with both cloth and leather upholstery and features heated seats, automatic climate control and a ton of cargo space. Seating up to eight passengers across three rows of seats, this full size SUV offers a vast interior space with wide supportive seats that are easy to get into, even in the second row. There is good headroom and legroom all-around, but these values may be a tad compromised in the third row, as expected. The third row is especially good for kids as it may be hard to get back there, but the second row does slide forward for more room and easier access. As such, both seatbacks can fold forward to create a flat floor with a cavernous 120-cubic feet space for cargo.

The vehicle likewise includes satellite radio and the Toyota Entune infotainment system on a six-inch touchscreen display, and is further accompanied by a rear-seat entertainment system, Bluetooth connectivity and a rear view camera. Other available features include tri-zone automatic climate control, cruise control, sunroof and heated mirrors.

This incredibly powerful full-size SUV comes with just a single drivetrain – a 5.7-litre V8 engine mated with six-speed automatic transmission. With standard rear-wheel drive, the 2016 Sequoia is rated at 381 horsepower and 401 pound-feet of torque, offering a fuel economy of 21.7 litres per 100 kilometres city and 15.7 litres per 100 kilometres highway. As a dynamic and all-powerful SUV, the Sequoia is capable of towing between 7,100 and 7,400 pounds.

The 2016 Toyota Sequoia is a hugely powerful and versatile vehicle that combines traditional hard-working truck technology with modern capabilities, comforts and conveniences. This full-size SUV offers the best of both words and is a great choice for those interested in both engine-strength and luxurious driving.
