With the Nissan Maxima being one of the longest-running models in the Nissan portfolio, they have decided to change things up with a completely new design for their new 2016 model.
The Nissan Maxima seems have been going through an identity crisis as Nissan’s premium sedan, drivers have realized if they are spending that much money on a premium Nissan sedan they might as well get an entry-level Infinity sedan instead. This crisis has finally forced Nissan to completely redesign the line which they have done with their newest model called, the 2016 Nissan Maxima. With a whole new look, people are excited for the new model to be released so it really is as good as Nissan is saying it will be.
Taking a look at the new model’s newly designed exterior, we can see Nissan has done an amazing job. Starting off with the grille, we can see a new design around it. A curved bar that looks almost like a nose ring is placed on the grille almost outlining the Nissan logo. With the curve, it almost seems as if the strong Nissan logo is causing a bend o this metal bar perhaps implying how large and tough the brand is. Next we can see the indents on the hood is sneakily pointing or drawing more emphasis towards the logo in the centre of the front view. The headlights Nissan has designed looks nice with the side outline using LED lighting which also seems to be pointing towards the front. As squished as this all sounds, the front view of the car seems so be very well spaced out and every details works well with one another. Moving on to the rear view, the logo is a bit smaller which may be the reason why the bar under it isn’t curved downwards but is curved upwards instead. However, similar to the front, the tail lights are shaped as an arrow pointing towards the Nissan logo.
As we move on inside, we can see Nissan has gone with a sporty look. With a two-colour design the interior reflects the look of many luxurious sports cars out there. There is an infotainment system in the centre of the front. Both the front seats and back seats seem to be very spacious so moving your legs wouldn’t be a problem even when sitting in the back. The seats and trim have a luxurious and rich look to it. Nothing seems so be cheap and tacky on the inside. There will also be an option to include a dual-panel panoramic moon roof, heated and cooled seats, and an 11-speaker Bose audio system with noise cancellation.
Under the hood, we can see Nissan uses a 3.5-litre V6 engine which will be able to push 290 horsepower and 261 pound-feet of torque. The engine will be run on a continuously variable transmission driving the front wheels. In terms of fuel efficiency, the Maxima will require about 10.5 litres for every 100 kilometres driven. Considering the power this sedan will have, the fuel efficiency falls under average. However, the sedan does have a surprisingly amount of power.
The new 2016 Nissan Maxima seems to be a great sedan overall which would be able to cater to many drivers out there. It has the power, looks both outside and in, and the space to catch the attention from a lot of drivers out there to go out and purchase one.

|Power and Performance:|
Nissan hasn't confirmed a powertrain combination for the 2016 Maxima, but we'll bet on the current configuration -- a 3.5-liter V6 with a continuously variable transmission (CVT) driving the front wheels - to carry over. The V6 in the current Maxima makes 290 horsepower and 261 pound-feet of torque, while returning 22 mpg combined.
A high-performance supercharged Nismo-edition Maxima is a possibility, raising our hopes for a dual-clutch automatic transmission with manual paddle shifting, since we can't see the CVT making the cut on that kind of car. A hybrid is another likely consideration.

There are five trim levels: S, SV, SL, SR, and Platinum.
Standard only on the SR are a few performance-oriented safety features: active trace control, which applies braking to each wheel so the car stays on the corner line as steered; active engine braking that uses the engine to slow the car to the desired speed as the driver applies the brakes; and active ride control that smooths body movement over bumps in the road.
