The 2016 Ford Fusion isn’t too different from its previous model. There have only been a couple of minor adjustments done to this midsize sedan, but overall, the Ford Fusion is still a great car, which is the reason for the minor alterations.
The new 2016 Ford Fusion has not changed much from the 2015 model, however the vehicle is still outstanding and shouldn’t be seen as outdated, considering the minor changes. In fact, this midsize sedan is not outdated at all, with features that have resulted in a great response from the public. Aside from the minor changes, the vehicle is considered to be a very handsome sedan and wins over a lot of customers in that respect alone.
The exterior design of the 2016 Ford Fusion is relatively the same as on its previous model. This should not be taken as a downside – it’s more of a compliment since no changes were needed. The Aston Martin-like grille gives the midsize sedan character. The new 2016 Ford Fusion has lost its small quarter windows on the front doors, which may possibly be the most obvious exterior alteration done to this model. Moreover, the Fusion SE gets you 17-inch alloy wheels. However, Ford will be releasing an Appearance package for the SE, which adds 18-inch alloy wheels, a rear spoiler and fog lights. The SE MyFord Touch Technology package equips the Fusion with rear parking sensors, which will make your drive a lot safer.
The interior changes are a bit more extensive than the exterior changes. In addition to the new shifter Ford has released, there will be an entirely new overall design. There will be matte wood, which clearly indicates Ford is trying to transition into a classier look for their new Ford Fusion. There is seat upholstery from either fabric cloth or leather, which completely depends on the trim level. The infotainment system is the standard 4.2-inch touchscreen display. There will also be an upgraded version of Sync, an SD card reader, an RCA video input jack and two USB ports. By opting for the Technology package with the Fusion SE and Titanium, you will get an automated parallel-parking system, an adaptive cruise control with frontal collision warning and a heated steering wheel, which will be appreciated once the long winter drives come along.
Under the hood, the current lineup sports a turbocharged 2.0-litre four-cylinder engine as well as a hybrid and a plug-in-hybrid powertrain. The current six-speed automatic transmission is now a nine-speed automatic transmission, which makes the whole experience even smoother. The Ford Fusion is also fuel-efficient, which allows it to cater to those who like to pay attention to the environment (or wish to avoid paying higher gas prices). The 2016 Ford Fusion’s fuel economy is at 11 litres per 100 kilometres in the city and about 7 litres per 100 kilometres on the highway.
Aside from the lack of alterations done to the 2016 Ford Fusion, it’s still an awesome midsize sedan in terms of fuel efficiency and style. With its Aston Martin-like grille, the vehicle will most likely garner a lot of attention.

|Power and Performance:|
The Fusion S and SE come standard with a 2.5-liter four-cylinder engine that's rated at 175 horsepower and 175 pound-feet of torque. Power is sent to the front wheels through a six-speed automatic transmission.
For the SE, there are two additional engine options. There's a turbocharged 1.5-liter four-cylinder, which comes matched to a six-speed automatic. Power output is 181 hp and 185 lb-ft of torque. Those looking for maximum performance should consider the turbocharged 2.0-liter four-cylinder with 240 hp and 270 lb-ft of torque. It also comes only with the six-speed automatic (with paddle shifters).
The Fusion Titanium comes standard with the turbocharged 2.0-liter engine. All-wheel drive is optional on any 2016 Ford Fusion with the 2.0-liter engine.

|Interiors and Special Features:|
The driver seat is easy to adjust into a just-right position and provides good sight lines out the front and sides of the car. It's harder to see through the sloping rear window, so it's helpful that a rearview camera comes standard. The roof's rearward slope also cuts into rear seat headroom, though not so much as to make most average-height rear passengers uncomfortable. The front seats also are mounted high enough off the floor that those in the rear can at least partially fit their feet under the front seats. Trunk space, at 16 cubic feet, is about average for the midsize sedan segment.
Any review of a contemporary Ford must also address the optional MyFord Touch infotainment interface. Without it, the base radio and climate controls are still somewhat complicated to use and less aesthetically pleasing. You get a much sleeker look with MFT, thanks to its 8-inch touchscreen. Backed by many redundant voice commands, it can be a powerful tool for configuring and controlling the car and your smartphone. But depending on your comfort level with technology, it might take you a while to get accustomed to using MyFord Touch even for basic functions. And although the system works significantly better than when it debuted, it can still be sluggish at processing touch inputs.
