Quick Look

The 2016 Ford Expedition MAX looks incredible with changes done to the exterior, interior and under the hood! The Ford Expedition MAX line is up against some tough competition like; the Chevrolet Suburban, Chevrolet Tahoe, GMC Acadia, and Nissan Pathfinder, but Ford has done a great job making sure the 2016 Ford Expedition MAX doesn’t fall behind.

Full Review

Ford has made an abundance of changes to their 2016 Ford Expedition MAX keeping their fuel efficiency, giving it more of a luxurious finish, and adding cool new features that assists in everyday driving. The ample space provided in this full-size crossover, is very much appreciated for long trips in the car, and not just for certain seats, we’re talking about all 8! The Expedition MAX is the type of vehicle to turn heads on the road since it now holds the prestige of only the rich drive it, or rather have their own drivers driving it.

Its beautiful exterior designs have made the car so much more attractive, that it shouldn’t be a shock to see some people purchasing it just for the looks. With a well-defined build and solid designs, this full-size crossover has a very strong and heavy-duty theme to it. This may be one of the reasons why it attracts so many drivers. Drivers want to be the toughest on the road, and the Expedition MAX does just that for them. In addition, there is a functional inlet on the front fog lights that directs air around the front wheel wells. It is evident that Ford has paid a lot of attention to the details of this new model.

The 2016 Ford Expedition MAX includes quilted leather on the seats, satin-finished ash wood, and brushed aluminum on the dashboard and doors. This is a huge jump for Ford since they used to use plastic to look like wood, and now utilizing more luxurious and premium elements to satisfy its new look. Also, the 2016 Ford Expedition MAX includes an interior air filtration causing any unwanted or unhealthy scents to vanish. Passengers now have the luxury of having ample space regardless of which seat they sit on. Usually the third row in crossovers are the squishiest for kids, but not anymore. This ample space is much appreciated by many drivers as it is perfect for the “seat-kickers” in the back who absolutely need their space.

Under the hood, there is a similar EcoBoost engine used in the 2015 model which means Ford is making sure it maintains its fuel efficiency. It is a 3.5-litre engine featured with direct Injection EcoBoost that is combined with Twin Turbo engine V6 and it is able to produce about 365 and 420 pound-feet of torque. The drive type is rear wheel drive with a 6-speed automatic transmission. The vehicle drives at about 16.4 litres per 100 kilometres in the city and about 12.0 litres per 100 kilometers on the highway.

Conclusively, there’s no doubt the 2016 Ford Expedition MAX is now considered as a threat to its competitors with the new luxurious look they are going for. This new model is the type of vehicle that a driver would fall even more in love with once they go check it out for themselves, only then will they realize the details Ford has put and emphasized in its look to grab attention.

Interiors and Special Features:

Inside, Expedition offers seating room for up to eight people and both passenger and cargo space are solid. Cabin trim comes a full circle from soft plastics to stylish wood accents, and so do seats from cloth to premium perforated leather. It all depends on a trim level. Base models get standard 4.2-inch center display with MyFord conectivity, while higher grades get standard 8-inch touch screen with navigation which is optional even on entry level. Some of the advanced features include dual-zone electronic automatic temperature control and twin 7-inch color LCD wide-screen monitors in rear seat entertainment system. As rearview camera is standard across the lineup, blind spot information system with cross-traffic alerts is also available and comes as standard from King Ranch model, while being optional in Limited grade.

Safety features:

Standard safety equipment aboard all 2016 Expedition variants, besides their domineering size, includes 4-wheel antilock brakes, traction and stability control, front side-mounted airbags, 3-row head airbags, front fog/driving lights, and a post-collision safety system. Again for the upcoming model year, a remote antitheft alarm, as well as Ford’s programmable MyKey teen-oriented speed and audio limiting technology, returns standard for the entire lineup, while the Limited and higher trims again boast the standard Blind Spot Information System (BLIS). Again for the upcoming model year, this hulking heavyweight is expected to sport a 5-star overall safety rating from the National Highway Transportation Safety Administration (NHTSA).
