Quick Look

The 2015 Audi Q7 is all about interior comfort and luxury, which means that its greatest accomplishment is making its occupants feel right at home. Its engines are not bad either, but they are not the main draw of this SUV. One of the Q7’s most powertrains is the 3.0-litre V6, which can produce 333 horsepower and 325 pound-feet of torque. Not mind-blowing, but still impressive.

Full Review

The 2015 Audi Q7 delivers comfort, luxury and performance, even if it’s not exactly the most off-road-ready SUV on the market. The biggest perk of this vehicle is its cabin that feels incredibly cozy and warm, while also delivering a breadth of tech features to make you feel like it’s your second home. However, this is only a highlight since the whole vehicle is a fantastic offer in general.

On the outside, the Q7 looks clean and sophisticated, offering sharp sheetmetal with smooth surfaces that fit perfectly with the SUV’s well-proportioned body. The grille looks a bit odd in comparison to the rest of the vehicle, but everything else is tasteful and well-sculpted. The overall profile is long but low, especially when compared to other luxury crossovers, while the details at the front and back are modern and slick. Audi has also added three new exterior colours, along with 19-inch wheels with full paint finish and chrome accents. If you want bigger wheels, there’s a new 20-inch package for Premium plus models and 21-inch wheels, a special gloss black grille, matte black window surround and black roof rails for the top S-line model.

On the inside is where the Q7 really shines, delivering comfort and warmth. First and foremost, the front seats are so supportive that even longer-legged drivers will feel comfortable. You also get quite a bit of thigh and lateral support to hold you in place on bumpy roads. The second row is quite a hoot as well, offering plenty of space for adults and children alike, with a large panoramic sunroof to brighten the day. The third row, on the other hand, is a disappointment since the seats there are much smaller, with less legroom and headroom as well as tougher accessibility. Cargo space is great though, especially if you fold the second and third rows to get 88 cubic feet of cargo space, which you can access via a power tailgate. The total amount of cargo space doesn’t quite match what’s on offer from similarly-sized SUVs, but it’s still not bad.

Under the hood, the Q7 offers a selection of three engines, all of which are available with standard all-wheel drive and an eight-speed automatic transmission. Our favourite engine is the supercharged 3.0-litre V6 that produces 333 horsepower and 325 pound-feet of torque. There’s also a slightly less powerful version that generates 280 horsepower and 295 pound-feet of torque. Another V6 provided is a 3.0-litre turbodiesel version that gives you 240 horsepower and 406 pound-feet of torque. The best engine in terms fuel economy is the 240-horsepower one, with ratings of 12.4 litres per 100 kilometres in the city and 8.4 litres per 100 kilometres on the highway. It's still fun to drive and, just like the other Q7s, has Audi's quattro all-wheel drive. With the right options, the Q7 can tow up to 6,600 pounds, so if you ever need to tow a boat or jet skis, then this car will permit this.

Overall, the 2015 Audi Q7 is a fantastic vehicle that delivers all the goods with barely any flaws. Sure its third-row seats are a bit disappointing, but it makes up for them with a decent trunk and superb front seats. If you’re looking for an SUV that puts interior comfort above all else, then this vehicle is definitely worth checking out.

Puissance et performance:

There are three versions of the Q7 available for 2015–each with standard all-wheel drive and an eight-speed automatic transmission, but each with a different engine, too.

At the top of the line, there's a supercharged 3.0-liter V-6 that puts down 333 horsepower. A detuned version of that engine produces 280 horsepower, and there's a 3.0-liter turbodiesel V-6 available, too.

Caractéristiques spéciales et intérieures:

There's little to complain about inside the 2015 Audi Q7, thanks to it spacious cabin for adults and kids alike–but it can become expensive as you add on the options.

While you might not rate handling as a top consideration for a full-size SUV, the seven-passenger/three-row Q7 is very capable. A firm but comfortable ride comes from a four-wheel independent suspension and careful tuning, plus an air ride system that allows the driver to dial in sport, comfort, and automatic modes to suit the conditions.
