Quick Look

Thanks to this year’s redesign, the 2016 Dodge Durango is anticipated to catch a lot of attention with its looks and of course it’s power. Dodge has also added in extra modifications to the designs to help the vehicle get more up to date.

Full Review

The Dodge Durango is one of Dodge’s most popular crossovers. With extraordinary popularity and stellar performance from its engine and handsome looks both outside and in, the new Durango grabbed a lot of attention from people when they announced their new 2016 model will be redesigned.

How would Dodge make the Durango look any nicer with the already amazing-looking car? There was a lot of pressure on Dodge to really blow everyone’s minds away with these new designs, but they did it. Clearly, the Durango is like the crossover version of the Dodge Charger, as it has very similar features but just a lot larger. They kept the grille the same design as the previous model, which is probably because it is the same design they use for most of their models. The headlights have been made up to date with LED lights on both the headlights and tail lights. The Durango has the same build to the predecessor, which is like a box-shaped vehicle, symbolizing the strength, power, and toughness it offers to its drivers. Dodge has done a great job in making sure they don’t lose their initial designs made on the vehicle, but altering the small details making it that much more handsome.

Taking a look at the interior looks we can see the style of it is very sporty, which is evident through the design of the steering wheel, seats, and front console. Making sure the driver’s view of everything inside is very important when aiming to go for a sporty look. In terms of space, with the box-build for the car, the interior has a lot of leg room, especially for the front seats. This just adds on to the comfortableness for drivers which is very important for drivers who appreciate what the Durango has to offer. In addition, since the Durango has a third row, it is expected to be a very tight area for legroom, however Dodge has done a great job at identifying this problem and made sure to leave a bit more space for passengers in that row.

Under the hood, Dodge uses a 3.6-litre V6 Pentastar engine which is able to produce around 290 horsepower and 260 pound-feet of torque. That being the base model option, Dodge is also releasing another option for drivers. The second engine being a 5.7-litre V8 Hemi engine which is able to produce 360 horsepower and 390 pound-feet of torque. Both engines run on both a rear-wheel drive and all-wheel drive system.

The 2016 Dodge Durango is absolutely exceptional and will be able to yet again bring in a lot of sales for Dodge and garner more market share, as they have been in the past with this model. It is definitely a vehicle everyone wants to take for a spin at least once, which is why this new model has gotten a lot of buzz.

Power and Performance:

Yes, the 2016 Dodge Durango is more traditionally proportioned than most utility vehicles today; but don't let any preconceptions get in the way: The Durango has some of the sturdy towing ability of a truck, but it performs, for the most part, just like a crossover.

With a choice between V-6 and Hemi V-8 engines, both paired to an eight-speed automatic transmission, you'll get strong straight-line performance in either case.

Interiors and Special Features:

Inside, there's quite a different philosophy, and almost none of the truck-like heritage has been carried over. The soft, flowing dash has thin metallic rings framing the major controls and a large touchscreen to rule the infotainment world. With leather upholstery, woven red inserts and red stitching, and white trim rings on the dials, even the R/T feels bold yet very tastefully done. In any case, the Durango feels less like an on-a-budget utility vehicle and more like a luxury SUV, done right.

Safety features:

The 2016 Dodge Durango is a big, sturdy, family-sized crossover. And based on the collective advice supplied by U.S. occupant-safety tests, it's a pretty strong pick for the safety-conscious.

First off, the list of safety features is solid. Dual front, side, and curtain airbags are all standard on the Durango, as are anti-lock brakes, and traction and stability control. A blind-spot warning system, a rearview camera, and parking sensors are available, as are adaptive cruise control and a forward-collision warning system that can fully stop the Durango at low speeds if an obstacle is detected.
