Quick Look

The 2016 Buick Regal is a modern and incredibly attractive midsize sedan, perfect for anyone looking to own a refined car with great fuel economy and contemporary features. The vehicle hosts a variety of technical gadgets such as Apple Car Play and Buicks Intellink infotainment and navigation system – thus matching its competitors in terms of technological capability. Equally notable, however, is the sufficiently powerful 2.0-litre four-cylinder engine, which produces 259 horsepower and is rated at 13.5 litres per 100 kilometres city and 9.4 litres per 100 kilometres highway. This vehicle is great for dynamic drivers with an appreciation for modern features and a great engine.

Full Review

The 2016 Buick Regal holds outward style and engine performance as its most valuable assets, which means it’s an incredibly attractive option for anyone looking for a good-looking sporty car. Though its exterior and interior profiles are minimally upgraded from last years model and the vehicle as a whole has received no major upgrades, the new Regal retains its sporty presence and compliments it with an upgraded engine and hybrid option. The 2016 Buick Regal is thus among the best in the midsize range as a fuel-efficient and aesthetically appealing sedan.

This year’s exterior upgrade to the 2016 Buick Regal features a combination of elegance, premium materials and an athleticism that may be unparalleled in the midsize sedan range, and could further be considered for best in-class merit. Style is clearly held in high regard for Buick and is thus exemplified in their slight revamp for both an aggressive and luxurious outward profile. On top of being built with lightweight materials to improve aerodynamic function, this vehicle is likewise equipped with a muscular hood that flows down into a striking waterfall grille. Moreover, front and back ends are refitted with winged, full LED lights, which work to cohesively unite all the elements into one impressively attractive body.

Seating five, the vehicle’s interior closely matches the outward profile and is outfitted with high-quality materials throughout seating and dashboard components in order to achieve both an elegant and athletic attitude throughout the cabin. Leather upholstery, wood detailing and aluminum inserts can be found throughout the front and rear seats, bringing a luxurious feel to the new Regals interior core. However, since the vehicle is smaller than its midsize sedan competition, there is also slightly less space in the rear cabin, and further reduced cargo space at the back end. This vehicle might not be ideal if space is what you’re looking for.

Technologically, however, the 2016 Regal is impeccably equipped with the latest features and gadgets in order to increase comfort and convenience for both driver and passengers. On top of new components like Apple Car Play and Android Auto connectivity, the center dashboard is outfitted with an eight-inch colour touch screen which hosts Buicks Intellink infotainment and navigation system, as well as an OnStar 4G LTE system with WiFi hotspot connectivity. Additional gadgets include a seven-speaker audio system, Bluetooth connectivity, USB ports and a heated steering wheel for maximum pleasure and convenience when driving this impressively smooth vehicle. Clearly, Buick has spared no expense in outfitting the new Regal with the latest technical capabilities, making the vehicle surprisingly modern and up-to-date.

In terms of performance, the new Regal’s base model comes with a 2.0-litre four-cylinder engine, producing 259 horsepower and a fuel economy of 13.5 litres per 100 kilometers city and 9.4 litres per 100 kilometers highway. Alternatively, a hybrid powertrain is also available with a 2.4-litre engine that produces 182 horsepower and is rated at an impressive 11.3 litres per 100 kilometres city and 7.8 litres per 100 kilometres highway. Both trims run across standard four-wheel drive and six-speed automatic transmission, but six-speed manual transmission and all-wheel drive are also available. Typical safety features include, but are not limited to adaptive cruise control, lane departure warning, rear cross-traffic alert and forward collision alert.

All in all, the 2016 Buick Regal is an affordable midsize sedan that combines a sporty exterior with elegant interior detailing and a great engine. For the consumer looking for an overall quality car that both looks good and runs efficiently, this might be the best fit.

Interiors and Special Features:

There are a lot of ornaments and shinny metallic inserts that make this vehicle’s cabin look much more classy. This vehicle is little bit smaller than its mid-size sedan competition, therefore it offers slightly less rear space than VW Passat for example, but more than Acura TSX on the other hand. Another thing is the cargo space, which is also not too competitive with other models in this class. When it comes to interior features, this vehicle comes with very nice package and the star of the show is improved IntelliLink infotainment system.

Safety features:

A rearview camera is now standard on all Regals, while the GS also gets standard front and rear parking sensors. That's in addition to the usual airbags, and the Regal's optional rear-seat side airbags.
