My first new car purchase and I regret buying it here even though I love the car. The salesman gave misleading information about being able to refinance the car later after I got my Permanent SIN and spoke as if I can cut down back on my interest rate after that but that was just a false statement. They had played with the numbers as offering more value for my used car but had also removed my Mazda student discount(after submitting my certificate) and there was a negative price in the credits section hence increasing the total. I am fine with this as I got the equivalent of the student discount but the offer initially seemed like it was much better than what it actually was by moving numbers around. Still that statement about the refinancing was what made me buy the car at the time I did and now I have to live with paying the interest for this mistake. Will never consider the dealership for me or my friends ever again

It is usually a bit harsh to rate a whole organization due to a single person's actions but I thought hard what to rate and I ended up deciding a 1 because I believe it is the company's responsibility to filter out rotten eggs.

Now for the reason: I used to be the lessee of a 2008 Mazda and was very happy with the car so when I moved to Canada, I wanted to get another used one from a Mazda dealer. After getting confirmation that the car was available and could be test driven, I drove 230 km to spinelli to find out the car had brake hose disconnected, had body scratches to be fixed ( I don't mind this second issue that much ).

The salesperson convinced me that the body material of Mazda cx9 post 2014 was changed ( and he is right I confirmed this online ). When I asked for the particular car I was interested in , he promised that would not be the case but maybe he didn't think I would lean over so I did and the car had full rust underneath. Then he changed his statement that Montreal cars have the same problem and even the brand new cars sitting at the lot has the same issue. Then I leaned under another car 2 years younger and saw that it had very negligible rust on it. So that was strike 2.

When I first called, he told me that I could deposit to reserve and get refunded if I didn't like the car so I complied. Yes, I got the refund from the financial team and no complaints there. But on the day of the visit, the same salesperson said he didn't know the password to the POS and said no financial person would be working the next day.

I bypassed him the next day and directly asked for a financial person to test his statement and I spoke to a financial advisor who processed my request.

Therefore due to the chronic lying problem of the salesperson I decided to cease my relations with Spinelli. I was looking for a $9000 car but Subaru de sources providing spectacular service convinced me to get a $20,000 car so I believe Spinelli mazda should be a bit more attentive to HR process.

Also, when I was there, the same sales guy was approached by another client and they said " but you told us otherwise, this is not good". I don't know that context but with my experience it is not hard to guess.

Waited more than 3 hours without the job done. Asked before I booked to make sure wait time would not be to long. They are using booking centers that tell you lies. Not coming back as a client there.


Mariano the general manager was not really helpful in sorting out this situation. He asked me to leave the car and come back later. Mariano maybe you should have proposed to do the job on the spot ?

Maybe an oil change is not enough profitable for them or maybe everything is great until they screw up.


Update :

Spinelli Mazda as mentioned he proposed I let the car there and grab it tonight. Yes he proposed a courtesy car but at the end I would have to come back to your garage ( on my time again). Why you didn't do the job on the spot instead? Would have taken max 30 min.

Also, NO he didn't mention to 'generously' drop of my car.

Bought a 2014 Mazda 3 from this dealer a couple of years ago. Then bought a 2015 Hyundai Elantra a couple of months ago. Was given a set of winter tires that I was told would be good for at least one season. Foolishly didn't check them carefully.

When I went to the mechanic to do the tire change turns out three of the tires were so worn out they legally couldn't be put on. Returned the tires to the dealer and Mariano said he would be in touch the next day. No callback. Shows you how much they care about repeat customers. Just like every other dealer that will try to screw you over if they can.

Good dealer, employees are nice! Small café on place for food or to work in while your car is in the garage. Had a nice deal for my 2017 Mazda 3 GT.

It's been three years now since I bought my car and each year they are a bit lost with my tires storage. I had to leave with a rental car because they didn't have my tires ready for my appointment. Dealer has no issue but the garage itself is problematic. They can't keep their records straight if two people are using the same car...

Due to a mix up on the their part I was given two sets of winter tires when I purchased my used car from them last fall. I only realized I had two sets of winter tires this spring as I was getting ready to change them. Needless to say I called them right away and it took a few times before I was able to get into contact with someone that would be able to help me. Once I got a hold of their manager he told me they would gladly switch out and install a set of summer tires when I come in. Already I had spent a lot of time and energy sorting this silly mistake of theirs out, but I was relieved that the manager Alex made it easy and I did not have to fight them on this. Alex was very helpful on the matter.

Now the appointment I made for the following week at 7 am is a different story. I set it up early in the morning so that I would be able to be on time for work. I was told my tires would ready and waiting for me and the garage staff would be informed of the situation as the manager wouldn't be there to explain the situation that early in the morning. What ended up happening was me having to explain to the staff the whole situation, then wait for just over 3 hours for that simple tire change. What caused me issue with the service was that there was no apology for the long wait and when I asked why it took so long I was told that they had to "get in contact with the manager and find the tires"... Now understandably this situation is a bit unique, but what irritates me is I was promised the week before that my tires would be ready waiting for me at 7 am so that I could be in and out. 3 hours, no apology, and being very late for work has made this a poor experience with Mazda Spinelli.

Update: I was called by the manager Alex and we talked things over. I was appreciative of him calling to follow up on this review. As this is my first car it wasn't an ideal first purchase experience, but Alex seems sincere and I will continue to do business with them. Also he let me know that they installed new tires, something I was unaware of at the time. I added a few more details to reviews and updated my review rating.

My miata 2003 is there for 10 days
I have check engine light and they told me maybe timing belt ...the order the part ....never start to fix it and promising me I should have news on my car in couple days....after 10 days they told me they have computer problem and they will finish it in 5 days.
And ask me if I want to take my car.
I send the towing to pick up the car and they call me that we can start on your car and it will be finish next morning.

Terrible customer service!

My wife bought her car at this dealership 5 years ago. Since then, we have been going for servicing and to change tires twice a year. We've had a few mishaps with them, such as when in the fall, my wife showed up to her appointment to get her tires changed, only to find out and they hadn't ordered them from the warehouse yet. But this latest episode really put us over the edge. She went to get her summer tires put on, only to be told that the tires she had left in storage were "shot", something they had failed to tell her when, in the fall, they had happily accepted her money to store them over the winter... Of course, they never offered any apology and resorted to blaming her.

It is fair to ask why, given that we have been so unhappy with their service on multiple occasions, we haven't changed where we bring our business yet. Truth be told, we were just going back out of habit and because we are both extremely busy people. But I'm glad to report that it's now official, we're never setting foot (or rather wheel) back over there. They are just not worth our business!

I had spent a fair bit of time researching for a good used car and was pleased to find exactly what I wanted at Spinelli Mazda. After speaking with a customer service rep (Alessandro) my sales consultant Alex set up the deal and came through with a fair price and a straightforward transaction. Yves in the finance department was fully prepared with all of the paperwork and there was no pressure.

I have been dealing with the Spinelli group since 1999, and I have always felt like a valued customer, but last night I did not. I wanted to purchase my car because my end of lease was coming up in some days. I spoke to a financial rep the week before to get my balance owed and to inquire about purchasing an extended warranty. I got the info and I asked if I had to make an appointment and I was told no. He gave me his hours and I told him that I would come in the following week with a cheque. I get to the dealership at 6 and I'm immediately told that the person I have to see was alone and it was very busy. I asked if it would be a long wait and I'm told about a 20 min. wait. After an hour, I'm told another 20 minutes. I don't know why they didn't tell me right away to come back another day. It is not easy for me to get to this dealership and I do not live close by. After investing more than 2 hours waiting (stupid me!) and noticing 2 couples going in before my I had to raise a stink. I'm told that those people had appointments! Hey! I've been waiting hours here! Why was I not given an appointment when I asked about making one the week before?! I was not going to leave without my contract after investing all that wait time. The people working there were not disrespectful per se, but I'm wondering if I was not a single, visible minority female, would I have been treated differently. Anyways, I don't have to deal with these people anymore.

I had to being my car in for a quick look in April. I couldn't be happier with the service I received. Gabriel and Shawm were both amazing.
