New Car (Sales)

I purchased a vehicle from them in 2017 and had an overall poor experience. Specifically, when going through finances with Eric, when asking yes/no questions to add ons, I had already known what I did and did not need. Whenever I answered “no” he would question why, followed by pressuring me that I was making the wrong decision. Him and their front desk staff said “make sure to give us a perfect rating on the email survey” (5/5 or 10/10, I forget what they kept drilling in my head). They said this about 8-9 times in one hour. They said it so many times I was repulsed. When I did get the email survey, I gave an honest review of my experience. Within 2 minutes I received a phone call (which I even clicked EMAIL communication preference, not phone) by their manager asking if I would reconsider my answers if he gave me a free oil change. Over the few other times I had these experiences:

About 6-7 workers out smoking together and they rolled their eyes when I pulled up for help.

Waiting 4 hours for an oil change when they said it would be about half hour to 45 minutes.

Being treated like I was a moron after myself, my husband and CAA man couldn’t find my lug nut tool (specific to Tucson) to remove my blown tire on the highway in -40 weather. I had to get towed to Hyundai and when I picked up my vehicle they said sarcastically “it was right there how couldn’t you see it”. The nut/tool was sitting openly in my trunk and they said “see, it’s right there”. So 3 of us couldn’t find it and then they tried to cover their tracks by making me look stupid?

The vehicle itself has been fine. My recommendation would be to make the small drive to Saskatoon as most people I know who drive Hyundai do. They have had positive experiences there.

New Car (Sales)

I would like to rate them with negative stars if possible, because of their general sales manager Mitch Kowalski. Person that knows no sales ethics and no respect. Manipulated the price by removing the accessories of the vehicles without informing me ( I travelled 3.5 hours twice to go there) and failed to honour the agreed price with agreed accessories when i reached there.
At dealership he accused me of changing tires on the vehicle that i was trading in when i dont even know how to change a spare tire.
On top, took deposit from me by saying its refundable, when i decided not to buy the vehicle because of his shady pricing and disrespectful behaviour i got three different answers from him and his sales person about my refund. I still havn't got my deposit back.
An advise to anyone going to this dealership DONT PAY A DEPOSIT that they tell us is refundable but its not.

Initial appointment was booked and upon arrival was told that there was no such appointment but they squeezed me in the following day for an oil change and check of filters. During the service I was notified that there was other issues that needed to be fixed( ball joint & sway arm) of course warranty was expired 5mths prior.

I just moved to PA from Moose jaw then I went to Lakeland Hyundai for an oil change and a recall on my Santafe Sport. Actually a friend told me that Lakeland is the best in PA so I went there.
I went with the expectation of what I heard about them.
Guess what??? I was wowed! The front staff were so amazing and helpful, they made me feel like the Queen I am.
This is definitely the only place I will be taking my car too for all works.
My car was washed and I left there in a brand new car☺.

I bought my Kona in March of this year. I've taken my Kona in for an oil change and even to get my tire pressure checked. All the staff I have dealt with are very helpful, courteous and pleasant to be around. I recently bought winter tires from Lakeland Hyundai and them installed. Each time I have taken my vehicle in for service it was completed in a timely manner. I would definitely recommend Lakeland Hyundai to friends. I'm so impressed with the service I've received.

No good service here. In fact, this place is clearly so bad at servicing vehicles and so desperate for money, I'd be careful that they don't try to charge you for the space you take up when you walk on their property. I'd watch out for your pocket getting picked too.

I know I won't be back.

My vehicle was in for recall work, but after I mentioned the check engine light was on, they went ahead and charged me the 1/2 hour shop time to also plug into the diagnostics (while it was already in a service bay) and look at a screen. Someone also took my truck for a drive without my permission. I was later told by a neighbor that my truck was seen speeding down a busy street, but I wasn't driving.

At no time was there even a mention of the inconveniences of having to bring the truck in a second time for the second recall on the same part. This time in a pandemic. I couldn't put it off as it was a block heater cord and we live where we live.

Then they gave me no idea how long I'd have to wait, but a "promised by" time mysteriously appeared on the bill when they were done.

When I was finally able to pick up the vehicle, there was absolutely no one around. Just crickets. When someone finally did show up, it was some old guy without a mask and without a clue that made me just stand there as he tried to figure out the paperwork. Which he never did. As far as I could tell he thought I was trying to steal from them and sneak out on part of my bill. He actually wanted to charge me the quote total as well.

In the end I went in for recall service and paying $100.00 for a quote to change spark plugs. Which I already knew had to be done, as anyone would know, given the kilometers on the vehicle. So glad some pretend mechanic got to play act that they knew something at my expense. Literally.

I hope they had a good laugh about it though, and it was worth losing any future business from me.

The answer from management when these complaints were brought to their attention? They just had to charge me. Too bad. I even have a screenshot of one of their people telling me I should be happy I wasn't charged for the recall work. I was then blocked on all their social media accounts.

In my opinion it's most definitely the culture here thats causing the bad service, and from the top down is most likely, so this has to be a "definitely avoid".

We made an appointment to have the sensor in the windshield calibrated after the windshield was replaced and that was completed satisfactorily. We asked about the idle assist as it doesn't appear to be working properly, they said they checked it and it is working properly but it still doesn't work. We are frustrated because nobody took it for a test drive which then they would have seen first hand that it wasn't working, they just checked it with their computer. The windshield washer doesn't get the whole windshield and they said that's just the way they work. The attitude at the dealership is not as warm and welcoming as it was in the past it seems they are too relaxed and chalk things up to oh well that's just the way it is.
