I recently bought my 2013 Venza from Laking Toyota dealer. It had a poor battery, they replaced it as the car was recently bought. Right now my AC is not working. Obviously if you buy a car in the month of February how would you check if the AC is properly working in the car or not. As a matter of fact, I went to near garage and they told me it had no AC. Shouldn't it be all included if you are buying a car or not?
I spoke with service department and used car department too. Service department said its something we can't do anything from our side.
Used car department said you didn't had any extra $2000 coverage to repair your AC.
I guess if you are buying a car, all these things should be included isn't it?

Completely dishonest. was quoted 1/2 hour for replacing 1 wheel stud. a 20 minute job from start to finish, videos all over youtube proving this. Was charged a full hour and was shown on their servicing page that 1 hour will be charged. Why was i quoted 1/2 hour when all buddy needed to do was bring up his page and give me the exact price? I could have gotten the job done for half the price at a real honest mechanic.

We purchased a used 2017 Sienna from Laking Toyota. We were fairly happy with the buying process. They were accommodating to our needs and warmed the van up for us before we took it for a spin- this was great as we have small children. Our only issue with the process was that we were shuffled between the dealership building to the used building a few times which involved us trudging through the snowy/icy parking lot with our newborn and toddler. You would think they would be able to have the financing person come to us- or have someone in the used vehicle building who could do it. We worked with Jacob Lymburner and found him to be professional, courteous and very helpful.

We then purchased winter tires and they were great in price matching to keep our costs in line with our expectations and the installation of the tires went without a hitch. They even moved our install date up by a week when the weather turned nasty and they knew we were headed out of town. That was very considerate and much appreciated!! We were shopping for a new car and had gone to several dealerships and ended up at Toyota to test drive. We were assisted by Bert Boyer in sales. Bert was very knowledgeable and made the buying experience very pleasant. We had taken out the new 2020 Corolla SE, Bert allowed us to test drive without tagging along. We didn't feel as though the dealership was breathing down our necks so we were able to converse with each other in private. This was our first time purchasing a car brand new (we've purchased used previously), and with such a large purchase it was nice not to feel pressured to sign a deal right then and there. Upon returning to the dealership Bert sat with us and hashed out the numbers together with packages and without. We left feeling very happy and stress-free. We went home and talked more about our decision from all cars that we had test-driven. We came up with the decision of purchasing the 2020 Toyota Corolla. Not only was it a beautiful car,t warranty was fantastic and all the extras made it a deal we couldn't pass up. We then spoke with Steve Tattersall who works with Toyota financial, Steve was able to get us a percent that was beyond amazing. The staff made our experience a positive one where are we left without any doubts in our mind that this was the best decision. Not only were they very professional and very knowledgeable they made it the best car buying experience we've ever had.

My husband tried to buy his dream truck from these guys, asked multiple times if they would be able to get one since the model he wanted wasn’t at their location. They assured him it was a done deal, signed papers and everything. The guy who ‘sold’ us this truck was great to deal with (so I gave an extra star 🤷‍♀️).

Waited over 3 weeks to find out that they didn’t even call around for it, and by then not even one of these trucks was available even in a different colour.

Don’t get your hopes up if the vehicle you want is not at their location. We won’t consider buying a vehicle from this location in the future, that’s for sure.

Northern FJ

I have been a Toyota owner for years and this is by far the worst dealership for service/repair. My FJ broke down and there was some fluid leak, towed to nearest Toyota which happened to be Laking Toyota. I was told front crank seal, alternator belt and oil need replacement and gave me a quote. Service advisor called next day to take my payment and told me the FJ is ready for pickup. Also told me and wrote on invoice that “may see smoke and smell burning oil until oil dries up.” Picked up my FJ drove home and for sure there was smoke and burning oil.” But smoke got worse and engine light turned on. FJ broke down 107 km later after I drove it from dealership. Towed to nearest Toyota closest to home and diagnostics was done and they found has head gasket leak, no coolant, engine blown from excessive heat. Called service advisor, denied everything. I had maintenance service a month before at a different service centre so I know there was coolant before it broke down and brought to Laking Toyota. I emailed Laking Toyota general manager and he emailed me 3 days later to give him a call. I called him up, did not turned out well. I hanged up and emailed him requesting that he put in writing everything he told me over the phone. No response until now. How is there no coolant after being serviced at Toyota and drove only 107km? Contacted Toyota Canada but they’re useless. They told me Toyota Canada only deals with vehicles under warranty.

I wish I had read reviews about Laking Toyota before towing my vehicle there but it’s too late now. That’s why I am writing this review to warn other customers. Stay away from Laking Toyota by all means.

Brought in my car to get a rear brake service and replace the front pad rotors and shims. I was told that my brakes were metal on metal. I asked to speak to the mechanic and he indicated to me that he did not feel that it was safe me to drive to Toronto get it serviced there, since he couldn't be 100% sure that there was enough brake pad left.

I went ahead with the service, despite feeling u easy about it. I did not hear metal and metal when driving the vehicle. I asked the service advisor to make a note on my account to keep the parts since I wanted to look at them myself.

Looking back, it was a total scam. There was plenty of brake pad left. I could have driven many trips to Toronto before needing to replace my brakes.

I do not trust the Laking Toyota service department.

The service i received wasn’t good at all.
I brought my toyota Venza in because the front end was bottoming out when going over bumps. They looked at my car and told me the rear struts needed replacing. The vehicle was soon approaching the end of warranty so there was no cost to replace them. I took my car home and inspected it myself because I knew there was something wrong in the front end even though they said it was fine. After removing my front wheels i could see the front struts were completely finished. So that means they either lied to me or didn’t even look . I returned my car stating that the front struts were done three weeks before warranty was up and they confirmed this time that they needed replacing. The parts were on back order and it took two weeks to get my car back. So i don’t like being lied to and i explained this to the Toyota rep when they called to do a survey.
Never heard back from them. Boooo

I felt like I needed to write a review about Laking Toyota.

I purchased a car in the past few months from a sales rep at Toyota by the name of John. John was great - super helpful, very intelligent and not pushy at all. I have no issues with John and would buy another car from him if it was NOT at Toyota.

My issues came about 2 months after buying my car. I had a noise coming from a part of the car that should not have been loud. I kept hearing the noise, and finally said I had to bring it in. They covered the labour to take a look at it, which I was great full for, but it turns out the part needed replacing. Now, I would have thought that they would have covered the part and labour for this fix - but they did not. The price was about 300$ all in. I was a bit sceptical because it had only been 2 months and I really felt that it was unreasonable that they would not cover this specific part OR the labour. So I took a short drive to another dealership - I should mention this was not a Toyota, but another make that they had - so I drove to the specific dealership for my vehicle. They quoted me the same part, labour and new wiper blades for 50$ CHEAPER then Toyota! And, to make matters better, they gave me an additional discount when I paid for it.

So, if you plan to buy at Laking Toyota you will have an amazing experience with the sales reps because they know what they are doing and are not too pushy. But if you run into any issues, you will probably have to pay.

I will not shop at Toyota any more.

I no longer own a Toyota vehicle, but I had such good experiences with their service department I decided to use them for my current vehicles. Have yet to have an issue with them. Friendly service, comfortable waiting area with free beverages and free rides to and from work if you leave it for the day. I don't mind paying a bit more for the convenience shuttle alone.
