My friend purchased a CERTIFIED used Nissan with Nissan's Security+Plus® Platinum Protection Plan Extended Warranty from Vernon Nissan that was 1 year old with 28,000 kilometers.
Background Information - My friend is female and English is her second language. At the time of purchase she was new to Canada and did not speak English very well.
According to Nissan Canada a Certified Pre-Owned vehicle gets an obsessively detailed inspection prior to earning the Certified status. A Nissan-trained technician ensures the highest standards for each vehicle, in a 169-point inspection process.
My friend was upsold to purchase the Security +Plus Platinum Protection Plan (Extended Warranty) which was an additional $2,500 which covers an additional 1,900 components. After the purchase, Vernon Nissan would email her every 3 months telling her that she needed to come in for service, being naive she would bring her car in for "service". Unfortunately, the service staff did not have the decency to inform her that her car was not due for service. Instead the service staff at this Vernon Nissan Dealership took her car into the shop and performed a $650 radiator flush and brake inspection!!!!! This was CONDUCTED only 6 months after purchasing a CERTIFIED USED NISSAN!!! WHAT HAPPENED TO THE 169 POINT INSPECTION THAT WAS JUST CONDUCTED ON THE VEHICLE 6 MONTHS AGO!!!!! WHY WOULD ANY MECHANIC OR SERVICE STATION CONDUCT A $650 COLANT FLUSH AND BRAKE INSPECTION ON A CAR THAT HAD THE COOLANT PH AND BRAKES CHECKED 6 MONTHS AGO ON A CAR THAT WAS ONLY 1 YEAR OLD WITH VERY LOW KMS???????. There was several other unnecessary service that was performed on this vehicle. Keeping in mind...this individual also purchased the " Security+Plus® Platinum Protection Plan at the time of purchase. The NISSAN service manual book indicates a coolant replacement at 168,000 km! This dealership would also do oil changes prematurely. Nissan states that oil should be changed every 8,000 kms. This dealership was doing it every 3,000 kms. When I brought up our concerns to the General Manager he just passed me over to the service manager that told me that this is standard service practice and blamed it on the previous staff that was no longer there. All they cared about was getting rid of me so I would not make a scene on potential new customers. I also saw the General Manager imitate and make fun of me with his sales staff while I was outside. I could see him through the glass. Not the professionalism I would expect from a General Manager of a car dealership. This dealership not only took advantage of someone that was naive but also failed to correct their unethical behavior. Shame on you. The authorities should be aware of your business practices.
IF YOU ARE NEW TO CANADA OR NAIVE ABOUT WHAT IS NORMAL DEALERSHIP PRACTICES STAY AWAY FROM THIS DEALERSHIP THEY WILL NOT BE HONEST WITH YOU. COMPLAINT TO THE BBB and CANADIAN AUTOMOTIVE DEALERSHIP ASSOCIATION WAITING TO HAPPEN.

Do not trust this location. I have had my car for two years and regularly have it serviced. In between a single oil change my car went from being in great condition to all the tires, brakes, and rotors need to be replaced. They did an inspection and said the engine was leaking but we changed the oil for you, that made a lot of sense! $74! I had an issue with a sound coming from the vehicle the guy said I don’t know what it is but I can tell you it’s not covered under either of the warranties. Well good thing I paid for a double warranty! He couldn’t tell me the problem but knew it wasn’t covered? How’s that possible? This guy was supposedly the manager. I can’t believe the level of dishonesty, so disheartening.

We recently had some issues with leaking brake lines on our 2006 frontier which as it turned out was serious safety issue. The service Manager Rene Pellerin and mechanic Ted Blaney went well above and beyond their normal duties ensuring our vehicle was repaired in a very timely fashion which entailed staying late on a Friday to get the job done. Rene ensured the repair cost was much more than fair despite having to acquire parts locally. Tremendous work and extremely hepful service department at Vernon Nissan.

I phoned Vernon Nissan on July 10, 2019 as we had found a car online that looked very interesting. I was connected with a Sales Consultant, Adriano Scaldaferri, who was not only exceptionally pleasant, but extremely helpful and knowledgeable. He told me all about the the new Nissan Versa Note SV, then took pictures and sent them to my wife and I so we could see the car from all angles, both inside and out. We later made an appointment to to meet with Adriano the following day. He was a total pleasure to deal with, and went through every aspect of the car, so we could make an informed decision. We then test drove it and decided to buy it. Adriano made all phases of the sale go very smoothly, never pressuring or rushing us, but making it all a terrific stress-free experience.

We contacted Kevin Murota towards the end of June, enquiring about the Rogue model of Nissan. We have known Kevin for quite some time and trusted his knowledge and experience to give us the information that we required. Kevin went above and beyond providing us with three different Rogue comparisons and even went so far, as prices, different options, availability and colour in stock, and possible trade in scenarios with our existing vehicle. After reviewing all the info and thinking about it for a couple weeks we emailed Kevin saying when we would be coming in. He quickly emailed us back indicating he was on a family holiday but put us in touch with Evan Jones at the dealership with whom he sent all the correspondence to of our previous emails. Upon arriving at Nissan, Evan greeted us and I must say from the start, was professional, extremely knowledgeable and one of the most respectful young men that we have ever had the pleasure of dealing with in buying a vehicle from. Today my 16 year old daughter and I were on our way to Vernon Nissan to pick up her first car. Can you imagine saving empties at the age of 10 and 11, babysitting at 12 and 13 and finally getting a job at 14 so you can save enough money to buy your own car at 16? She did it! All by herself. She was super cute this morning, trying to pick out her outfit for her photo with her first car.

I just received an email from the Sales Manager who has let me know that he has sold the car from beneath us. In spite of me providing him with my credit card Tuesday afternoon for a deposit, he later took a deposit Tuesday night (his words) from someone else. He then has the audacity to follow up with, "I could work out a great deal for you on another similar vehicle, would you be interested?"

You decide if this is the kind of company you want to deal with.

2 MONTHS LATER UPDATE: As per the managers response below, it has now been two months since his response and I have not received one email with "a similar replacement" offer. My parameters were simple - Honda, Nissan or Toyota, under $200,000 kms, must have a/c, under $8000. If you go online, there are hundreds that fall under this category. One must question the capabilities of this dealership that, in two months, they could not find a single one. When this is your hard earned money, don't you want to work with a dealership that has integrity and stands by their word?

I have been buying vehicles for 25 years and never had such a horrible experience.
