I just bought a new Kia Forte . What a great car and what a great experience at Harris Kia Nanaimo. Along with my 92 year old Dad we arrived and were quickly greeted by Liam and welcomed into the building. We already had a good idea of what we wanted. Liam made the whole process easy with a very friendly and professional demeanour. A great asset to this company. Christine was also a pleasure to meet with as our financial person.
I would definitely recommend this dealership.

I won't be back, unfortunately. Most of the staff seemed sympathetic & understanding of the fact that I was kept waiting an exceptionally long time for my appointment to buy out my lease. However, after multiple phone calls over the past couple weeks to get someone - anyone - to return my call for guidance, an hour & a half wait for an appointment (without apology or "thank you for your patience" from the person who I had the appointment with), to getting my (technically "new") car from Service uncleaned after they had it 2 1/2 hours (and when I inquired, it was taken back, given only a quick floor vacuum & returned within a few minutes smelling so terrible of body odor - yes, like the Seinfeld episode - I had to drive with the windows down - clearly not properly cleaned & sanitized). Keep in mind, the last time I brought the car in for an oil change, they forgot about me & I almost fell asleep in the waiting room - so this has been a pattern. Very disappointed that buying my car turned out to be such a bad experience for me. It should have been an exciting day. Hopefully you'll do better with your future clients, Harris Kia. I won't be one of them.

Yesterday, mom driving, we see the new pink and white kia soul. Mom says let's take a look. No harm. And you've been saying you like them. Derek meets us outside and after I fall on love with an alien green soul (named yoda), he starts the amazing service. Knowledgable, funny, warm and accommodating.
Then christine (finance money guru with no peer better) sits with us for 2 hours and like a wall street trader with a moral compass, doesn't give up until shes covers all options to suit my life and budget. In between, laughing and making me feel taken care of. I'm in love with the car. And so thankful for today's kia experience.

My mother bought a Lexus here got a flat went to put the spare on and low and behold there’s no lock key for the lug nuts. It boggles my mind as to why a vehicle could be sold without one of them. It’s a basic item that not a lot of people would even think to check for when buying a vehicle but as a Reputable Car Dealership this should not have been overlooked. I am so sorry to hear this news. Our policy is always to ensure that the locking wheel lock keys are left in the glove box or with the spare tire tools and I have no idea why it would not have been there.

We have not seen the vehicle back here for any service since your Mother purchased it and I suspect that she must have had it serviced once or twice in that time frame and so I wonder if the shop that has serviced it used the key to check brakes and neglected to put it back in the vehicle?

Again, I apologize for the drama and the huge inconvenience it would have caused. If you would like to talk more I would welcome a call anytime.

After having trouble finding the trim and colour of EV we wanted in Victoria, along with some disappointing service, we went to Harris Kia in Nanaimo. They had exactly what we were looking for, didn't try to charge us extra for things we didn't need, and the vehicle was even priced a little less than in Victoria. Dave, the manager, also went above and beyond to help us out with our old vehicle, this really saved the day. Would definitely recommend to anyone looking for a new vehicle!

We ordered a hubcap that costed us $150 bucks 3 days ago. We prepaid for it on a credit card. They were supposed to call us but never did. We asked to get the charges reversed but instead told us we need to pay a restocking fee. We were leaving friday morning for our flight. Poor service altogether.

Good afternoon Loretta,
Thank you for taking the time to review my dealership. I wanted to follow up to see how we “dropped the ball” and have spoken to my Parts Department Manager regarding the issue as we take any complaints very seriously. I understand that you “special ordered” a wheel cover for the vehicle that you were using (renting?) on Wednesday July 29th, 2020 and did indeed pre pay for the part which is our policy. We explained that the wheel cover would arrive at our dealership on Friday, July 31st (two days later) and that you would be able to pick it up first thing in the morning.

I understand that you called the dealership that Friday morning at about 8:30am to say that you were on your way to drop the vehicle off at the airport in advance of your flight home to Ontario and that you didn’t want it any longer. Normally, when we special order parts for folks and they change their mind, we ask for a restocking fee as it has to be sent back to the warehouse. That said, we did in fact refund your entire purchase with no fees at all immediately after you spoke to us.

I apologize if you felt that we disrespected you in any way as we did have the part here and available as promised and it could have been picked up, as planned, anytime after 7:00am that day. I am not really sure what we could have done better to satisfy you and again I am sorry that your experience was so poor altogether. I hope that your visit to Vancouver Island was not diminished in any way because of your experience here in our store and I wish you well. Terrible experience at Harris Kia, after some haggling over the phone I had worked out a price with Scott. Price was agreed upon and we talked about what they were going to do to get the car ready for pickup and what ferry I was going to catch the next day as I live on the mainland. After talking with Scott I had two phone calls with the finance department where we talked about financing options and what kind of cheque they needed. Price, payment and everything was finalized, I asked the finance person if there was anything else they needed from me but was told we were good and I’d see them tomorrow. A couple hours later I received a text message from Scott saying the finance department had been trying to get ahold of me and since I’ve hey could not get a deposit they had sold the vehicle. I had zero missed calls or messages from anyone at Harris Kia and had previously been in contact with two sales guys Scott and Marcelo as well as a lady from the finance department, none of which had the courtesy to call or text. Scott didn’t even have the courage to call me and tell me himself what happened. Please do yourself a favor and be cautious dealing with this dealership!

Pictures of the vehicle sent to me were not representative of the vehicle's condition, as images were added to the site after the fact. Went in with different expectations and was let down by this. The description said it was in "great condition" but the vehicle was covered in scrapes, bits of rust, traded paint, and cracked exterior. I had a sales person by the name of Rolland Holland facebook me on a car i had posted for sale. I like many people thought that he was just trying to sell me a new a car. Rolland told me to come on in and they would give me an appraisal of my vehicle. I figured that if i did come in they would just lowball me like every other dealership.

I went into the dealership and was astounded by the leadership and honesty that i was shown. I left the dealership about 2 hours later with a fair priced cheque for my vehicle.

Sas and Roland did an amazing equation to convince me to purchase a car from Harris Kia. It is a tremendous experience ever! My sincere appreciation and huge thanks to Sas, Roland, Matt, Marcelo and the whole team of Harris Kia for making the deal completed. I like the car!

I’ve been rejected for one of my concern after the car was delivered. Reason for rejection: the car was sold to me at a low price. “We can’t do something for you”. Neither an attempt to discuss the matter further nor see the car physically based on my concern. How disappointed it was! Since I received rejection, I documented it and find ways to resolve it on my own. Meanwhile, Matt was there by accident and provide some sort of alternatives. I’m still lucky he was there.

No matter how excellent the leadership or customer service are, the unexpected happens; customer concern should be handle with due care and protected from disappointing encounter.

Even if the situation loses you small amount of money in the short run, you will possibly see a larger picture in the long run. I’m a typical person who will sing your praises when you resolve my issues or turn my bad experience around in a timely manner and offer a fair solution. I wish I will not be rejected on my next visit.

After a thorough consideration and effort made by the team, Harris Kia deserved a 5-star from my end.

I bought a 2017 Soul which is a great car. We thought we left our insurance papers in our trade in vehicle. Victoria was suppose to get back to us. Over 3 weeks have passed and no follow up. Also usually when a person spends a bunch of money on a vehicle there is some follow up like a quick call to see how we like the vehicle. Find todays sales people lack follow up to insure return business. First day of ownership had to pay for a touch up pen because there was a scratch on the front from before we bought it. You would think they would just throw it in. 25 buck not a lot to make customer happy. Times have changed.

Hello Marcelo, Dave and the Harris Team!

We are one week into our Kia Soul EV ownership and just loving the car.

We wanted to thank you and your team for the excellent service we were provided at your dealership. Marcelo in particular was who sold us on our purchase from Harris Kia. Marcelo was knowledgeable, friendly, and helpful. We have been to a total of four Kia dealerships and 1 Toyota dealership, and came all the way back on the ferry to purchase from Marcelo and Harris.

Thank you again for taking the time to show us the Niro's and provide great information. We will be looking for our second EV or PHEV vehicle in 2020 and hope to see you again. Fingers crossed Kia comes out with a PHEV or EV Sorrento!

My parents had their Kia maintained and serviced here. When the ownership changed over to me, I stayed with Kia for continuity. As a student on a tight budget, their service environment quickly declined from cheery and helpful, when I could no longer afford the $1000+ estimate for services every time that I went. I am a firm believer that it is important to invest in my vehicle, but I quickly became privy to the fact that they were taking advantage of me, and my little knowledge of vehicles. My last service check with Kia, before a long road trip, they came back to me with a $1700+ estimate of services that *needed* to be done before my trip. Not prepared to drop my *entire* trip budget on my car 2 days before leaving, I was swindled into believing that my "u-joint had play" and that it was a huge safety risk. I felt intimidated, and clueless, so I reluctantly paid just over $700 to have it replaced - however I requested to have the faulty part returned, and for them to demonstrate the issue (which they actually couldn't replicate when they tried because there "was no weight on it"). My most recent discussion with Kia was about the work they did under warranty, replacing the transmission in this vehicle before It was sold to me. There is a clear history of transmission problems, and even after the replacement, the issues are not fixed, the transmission has been leaking since installation, but there is no warranty on their services.

I have, hands-down, had the most intimidating, belittling, and dishonest service at Harris Kia, and I will never recommend them to anyone. Talking on the phone with the service department is like receiving a lecture.

I happily recommend Fountain Tire, instead. They are quite literally the polar opposite in their practices, and I'm even able to learn from them, as they complete the job!

Thank you for sharing your frustration and I apologize for you feeling that you have been disrespected in your interactions with our dealership. I took the time to review your vehicles service history with us and found the quote that we gave you during your last visit a little over one year ago, in June of 2018. As I looked through the information I see that the bulk of the recommended service were to catch up on routine maintenance that is recommended by Kia Motors. The only repair that was needed at the time was for the U-joint that was worn out. All of the other items were for fluid flushes and other routine service items. We must offer the recommended services so that our guests know what is needed to keep their vehicles in top condition and we would do you a disservice if we did not advise you as to your vehicles needs. That said, it is always your decision to do these services or not.

You mentioned in your note that we do not guarantee or warranty the work that we do. In fact, we do have a written warranty on all service repairs done here in our store. The transmission replacement that you mentioned was done in September of 2012, nearly 7 years ago. We always do guarantee repairs including both parts and labour for one year or 20,000 kilometres.

I want to thank both you and your parents for your business over the years and I am sorry that we couldn’t continue our business relationship but I wish you well. If you ever want to speak to me directly, my door is always open.

Terrible customer service! Very disorganized. Girl contacted me a second time after I had already booked online and then they cancelled my appointment with little notice because they were closing early for a wedding. One would think a wedding was booked more than a few days in advance. Apologies and excuses about their online booking not working as desired (other places seem to work online booking without these issues) but I'm an hour away and had scheduled other appointments around this one. No concern for cost or inconvenience to me. Unfortunate as service department seems good. Next car won't be a Kia. Reply to response: I live an hour away so picking my car up and dropping it back isn't a logical thing to do. I need my car as I'm remote and don't care to use my gas for 4 trips. Your staff time should be considered too!?

Unbelievably bad customer service! I called looking for a 2020 soul ev limited and they told me they had 3 available I said great I will take the white one. I asked to be called back with payment info and least rate. I told them I'm calling from Victoria and to please call back asap and that I want to close the deal today. An hour and a half went by and no call. So I called back and they said they did it to a walk in after I called. Who does that? The sales manager then lied to me telling me they were sold first thing this morning. Funny how the salesperson had 3 available 30 min after they opened. My guess is they never had any for sale and just tried to trick me into ordering one. For a company to boast about how customer service is everything they sure have the worst I've seen in 30 years. Be straight with customers and maybe you won't lose customers.

Thank you for sharing the information that you did today and I wanted to reach out to you to apologize for you feeling disrespected In any way. I spoke to my staff today to find out what the issue was and how we might have dropped the ball here. I understand that you called this morning regarding one of the three 2020 Kia Soul EV Limited cars that we had in stock. Although you did call early just as you mentioned, we had two other people come in first thing this morning looking for Soul EV cars as well. One of those folks had been here shopping on Saturday and the other was here on Sunday for a test drive as well. On Sundays we only have a greeter here rather than a full staff so the Sunday folks could not finish a transaction that same day. That said, they were both here at our dealership first thing this morning to finish purchasing their cars including the Snow White Pearl car that you called about. The Sale Person that you spoke to this morning was unaware of the deal that another one of our staff had going on the car and that is why she assumed that it was still available. This morning we started the day with white car, a grey car and a black one and by about 9:00am two of three of them had been sold. That said, she should have called you back more promptly to let you know what was going on rather than you having to call back 90 minutes later.

I can assure you that no disrespect was intended towards you and please know that it has been very difficult to keep EV cars in stock right now with the tremendous interest in electric cars currently.

In summary, sometimes we do get multiple people on the same vehicle and believe me when I say that we do want to do business with you. We would never want to chase someone away but model availability is challenging at times and today is one of those times. If you would like to discuss the issue further or if you would consider giving us another opportunity to earn your business, please to call me directly to help.

I just went in to see if they can do repairs on my vehicle under warranty, the damage was likely connected to the old owner and the dealership i bought it from said it was esthetic damage only and i had a full warranty but things are falling off so i figured id see what they would do for me. I was greeted by possibly the nicest owner ive ever met Dave, he took personal interest in my case and i am now waiting to hear back. They may not be able to fix it as it probably isnt their responsibility but i felt totally taken care of and i will be recomending Harris Kia to all!

Best dealership in town. Bought a used Kia (2013) and 2 months later one of the (aftermarket) springs broke. The service department (Mike house) said they stand behind their cars and even though it wasn't a kia part on the car they paid for new springs and the labor! Now that's great customer service! Plus while my car was in the shop waiting on new springs, they have me a brand new Kia Forte to drive around in while mine was getting fixed. Highly recommended!

From my initial Email correspondence with Jal about what I was looking for, to meeting him and taking a test drive, I was treated very well. No high pressure sales pitch, just solid information that assisted me in the decision to make my purchase. Jeff walked me through the paperwork with ease. The service department installed winter tires so I could drive home to Duncan in the snow. What a great team! I drove away with my 2015 Kia Rondo feeling totally blessed with great service and an excellent vehicle. This is the second vehicle I’ve purchased here. My son also purchased his Kia here. These are amazing people, without exception ...the receptionists at the desk, the salespeople, the technicians, every single person in the Nanaimo location that I've dealt with on multiple occasions has left an impression: I wonder what would it be like if people demonstrated this caliber of service, mindfulness and consideration everywhere?! A friend had her snow tires installed here last week, and she's still in awe, too. Really. Think about that. Until you know the difference, that statement sounds like "I got winter tires put on my car." But go here, and that statement changes. "I'm so impressed! I got tires put on my car at Harris Kia, and--"

I was in the market for a used 4 cylinder vehicle to use for my daily 80 kilometre commute and having saw a couple of vehicles on the Harris Kia website, planned a visit to the dealership the next morning. While I had printed the ads related to a number of potential vehicles from Craigslist, I ended up buying a 2008 Kia Rio from Harris Kia. I had never really thought about Kia as being a brand that I would consider purchasing in future, probably because I knew very little about it. After driving the Kia vehicle I was interested in, it met all my expectations and then some. When the dealership took this vehicle in on trade, it ensured that all of the maintenance was up-to-date. As an example, even though the vehicle only had 45,000 kilometres on it, given that the manual called for the timing belt to be replaced at 96,000 kilometres or after 5 years, Harris Kia had replaced the timing belt as it had yet to be done and the vehicle was now 5 years old. Kurt Mason and the staff at Harris Kia were extremely helpful and courteous and made my shopping experience a real pleasure. The knowledgeable service combined with a non pushy sales approach made this experience even that much better. I was very impressed by Kurt and the other staff at Harris Kia and would definitely recommend this dealership to others. As a matter of fact, I have already made mention to several people about how impressed I was with the treatment I received.

What a Delightful Experience! The Harris Kia service department installed day-time running lights on my Kia Soul yesterday, and I must say - it was one of the most pleasant customer service experiences I've had in a while.

The service manager, Mike House, was such a pleasure to work with and was very helpful, as Graham Kia in Victoria wouldn't even consider installing DRL's on an American Kia. In addition, the courtesy van driver, Alan, was also so nice and accommodating. The entire process was seamless and a real pleasure.

I will definitely make the 2 hour drive to this location to have all future repairs done on my Kia, and I will refer all of my friends and family to this location to purchase vehicles when needed. It's well worth it.
