New Car (Sales)

We bought a new 2019 hyundai on July 17/19. It’s a Tucson FWD Preferred. Our salesman Darren Stutt was very knowledgeable and he spent 2 hours with us when we picked up the new car. Our friends The VanMierlo and our son Andrew has Hyundai vehicles and both recommended us to go to the Hyundai In Sudbury. Both are very happy with their vehicles. We were ready for a new car as our Chrysler was 13 years old. We sold it ourselves in one week. The Hyundai salesman Steve told us they wouldn’t give us than a couple hundred dollars. We sold it for $3000. We did not take any extra warranty. I find the SUV too high to get in so we ordered the running board and having it installed on August 26/19. We also purchase the cargo cover. So far we are pleased with our new vehicle. I wasn’t too sure on how to use the lane assistance, our son was here from Ajax and he showed me how to use the lane assistance. I don’t recall Darren showing us that feature, but he did show us a lot of all the rest of the bells and whistles for that model. He was very pleasant and courteous. I would recommend to use him for a salesman if you buy a Hyundai.

I had a very positive experience using Unhaggle. After learning the dealer invoice for the car I was looking at (2015 Accent GL), I received a phone call only about 10 minutes afterwards from the local Hyundai dealership here in Sudbury from Sean. He told me he'd be happy to show me the car anytime, and was very pleasant on the phone. I think because he knew through Unhaggle exactly which car I was looking at and what the dealership paid for it, that I was armed with more information than the average car buyer off the street, and I was treated as such; a little bit of back and forth on the price, but nothing crazy. A deal we were both happy with. On my end, going in with that extra bit of info gave me more confidence when negotiating the final sale price, which I needed. Overall I saved a good chunk of money, and I would happily use Unhaggle again! Also I would recommend Sudbury Hyundai- very professional and courteous, yet gave me time to come to my own decision.

I have had the pleasure to be dealing with James Levesque with my recent dealings with Sudbury Hyundai. A young salesman still not yet tarnished and jaded by dollar signs and commission. As a past salesman I understand a lot of what goes on in this type of environment. I have to say I am so very impressed. From start to finish James was interested in putting his customer first and helping him fill his need. There was no pressure, just "what can I do to help you" As a past salesman I can be the best and the worse customer depending on how I am treated and James and his team at Sudbury Hyundai brought out the best in me and in professional sales. Even after I decided on my vehicle and right now I am now waiting for it to arrive, James has been determined to answer any and all questions I task him with. This is our fourth Hyundai purchase. Because affordability and the warranty offered, my wife and I have been able to trade our vehicles in every five to six years and comfortably budget for the cost. As far as sales experience? We have no complaints. Our first salesman has since moved on to a different position at the dealership and we've dealt with someone different for the last two purchases. He's awesome and our previous salesman has been there for every purchase as well. Whether he needed to be or not. They know we're budget oriented and do their best to get as good a price as possible. We'll be headed to back to upgrade our 2019 Elantra in a couple years! Great service!

All the staff I have encountered is very professional and friendly. Shuttle driver is good and doesn't drive like a maniac like some other people. Love the free coffee by the way keep that going.
5/5 definitely going to buy my next car and my wife's new car from there when it's time and my kids car from there when it's time.

I was interested in test driving one of their vehicles and so I set up a test drive. However, that evening I got a phone call from the sales staff telling me they'll be requiring me to do a hard credit check just to test drive the car. These are the types of credit checks that can negatively impact your score. I felt this was both unreasonable and a little scummy to be honest. It is a $35,000 hatchback, not a Faberge Egg.

Disappointed in my local dealer, will have to go to the GTA to test drive and, hopefully, buy this car there.

My experience with Sudbury Hyundai has been absolutely nothing short of amazing every step of the way. I bought a 2019 Elantra and not once did I feel pressured into making any decisions that I did not feel comfortable with. The sales team really care about their customers and pay close attention to what thier needs and concerns are and have no problem providing more information as needed.
Even after my purchase, I still enjoy bringing my car in for servicing. The staff at the service desk are friendly and helpful. The waiting area is comfortable and provides hot drinks for customers while you wait. I strongly recommend choosing Sudbury Hyundai for your next vehicle purchase.

I booked an appointment for service at a time where I could wait in the waiting room. There was another woman there when I entered. While I was trying to read, she was a pleasant women and continued to comment about various things on the tv. Another woman then joined and we slowly all started talking about various things, the main theme being covid and how we have all been handling it. A fourth woman entered and she knew the first lady so they went off on a tangent for a moment while i talked to the other lady. We gradually joined back into a 4-person conversation and after the last 3 months of isolation, it was really lovely to sit and talk to four other humans who have been going through the same world pandemic.We were all sitting 6 feet apart and as the pregnant lady of the group, I wasn't concerned about any exposure to Covid. I was able to put it all aside for a few minutes and socially interact with people, something that has been lacking in my life for so long now. The second lady then had to leave and we all exchanged goodbyes. Shortly after, a humourous man entered and as he was wearing a mask, he made a joke about this being a hold up, give him all your money. He sat down and we carried right on with our four person conversation and he fit right in. It was great to hear his experiences during covid, as he had been in florida when this all started.
Overall, it was a great experience and it was something that i really needed as a pick-me up during this trying times. Any time i have gone anywhere else lately, the environment has been a more "dont talk to anyone, dont look at anyone, dont even breath" type of attitude and I'm really glad that i was able to share a nice experience with some fellow humans.

I was referred to sudbury Hyundai by some friends that had traded in a vehicle and got a fair price on the trade in and vehicle purchase. We showed up and struck a deal on a 2012 Kia Soul from the used car lot after getting a fair price for our trade in. Took about 5 business days to certify the vehicle we bought because it needed a little work. We had both our young kids at the dealer for hours and the staff was more than accommodating. After picking up the new to us Kia Soul that was immaculate from the detail shop and going through the inside options with my sales rep Jen I was off. A stroke of bad luck had me stranded the very next day because of a faulty brake calliper, I called up Jen and she had it towed to the dealer at there expense where they made time to rectify and repair the problem that very morning. Here’s where I am beside myself, I live out in capreol and because of my tight schedule she had the vehicle delivered to my home at no cost to me so I could keep my appointment the next morning. This is unheard of from sudbury to the valley for a simple shuttle service much less to capreol to deliver the vehicle. And again a used vehicle not even a new one. I would not hesitate to purchase another vehicle from sudbury Hyundai. I have delt with dodge in capreol, Mitsubishi, and others and have never seen this level of service.

My family has, over the years, purchased 5 Hyundai vehicles and have been happy with our purchases. The sales team at all these purchases have been excellent. When we go in to see about replacement cars, the sales representative just asks us what colour we would like this time and what feature level we want.

I am sorry to say that we only use the dealership service when we have an issue that should be covered by warranty. For every day service on consumable items, we use the auto service shop in our community.
This is primarily for convenience and to support our local businesses..

I would like to suggest some changes to Hyundai cars and other brands and models.

#1 in Canada and Ontario specifically there are stiff / enforced laws concerning the use of cell phones in a car while driving. Having a conversation while driving is almost as important as having a Tim Horton's coffee and snack.
My thought is to have the "text to speech" and "speech to text" functions built into the cell phone interface (specifically texting .... many people & business are not always available and sending a text is the next best option.
I'm fairly certain that it can be done as there are apps available to do just this but don't function well in an automobile.

#2 As mentioned earlier, our family own and have owned 5 Hyundai' vehicles Tucson and Santa Fe models. To me and other people I know do not care exactly how the basic audio functions work as a deciding factor in car purchasing. But if you are switching between cars it would be great if the radio/cell phone functions were the same. i.e. making a call is different, even using the same cell phones. managing connected phone is different.
Would having these functions the same between models be cost effective to Hyundai? It must cost money to have programmers generate different code to do the same thing!

#3 My wife and I both drive our Tucson and we each have individual cell phones. The car/radio has both phones programmed into the communication system. My phone is the primary phone.
When we get into and start the car all the electronics and computers load and start but if my cell phone is not present, the car does not sync with my wife's phone automatically .... I thought that was part of the system to sync with the programmed phone in the car!!
I can assure that trying to link with the phone while driving is not an easy thing and just as dangerous as texting while driving.
It is also something my wife does not have the knowledge or desire to do.

It is plain to see that my rant is about the communication system of the car. I have no other issues with any of the Tucson cars or Santa Fe cars that we have owned.
I guess that they are good reliable cars and I like them.

We like in north eastern Ontario where we have such thins as winter and with snow tires these cars are great. Start on the coldest days

If others feel as I do about the deficiencies regarding the auto communication system, please let me know

I am very unsatisfied with the treatment and disorganization by Sudbury Hyundai, as well as there staff. We had an appointment booked, but when we arrived they told us we had no appointment but that they could "squeeze us in", in addition, they can never find the file, it is listed under my grandfather's name. In addition to saying we did not have an appointment, the part that was being fixed the staff was unable to find for some time, even though it had been ordered weeks earlier. The service was great in the beginning before we bought our vehicle, but since then it has been nothing but unsatisfactory, if I could go back to the purchase of my vehicle, I wish I would have not gone with Sudbury Hyundai. We were told that the car was certified, and it came with brand new summer tires, but when the tires we put on the car, we were told that the tred is almost gone and that the tires were not safe to use, so i.e...there was false fact or advertising, and there has been nothing but continuous issues with the vehicle. Another issue, while waiting for my vehicle to be prepared I was kindly given a loaner car. I lost my university library book in the vehicle and was contacted by the receptionist to come to pick up the book. Due to the nature of my work, I was unable to return her call but when we went to pick up the book which I do admit was irresponsible on my part, though we were told that it had been thrown out. I felt that it should be the responsibility of your company or employee to pay for the cost of the book, though the receptionist phoned me a few days later to let me know that they did indeed have the book. The receptionist was rude, inconsiderate, and should learn how to properly conduct herself while dealing with clients.

Then got attitude from owner when I complained my salesman gave me attitude when I called and said he ordered me the wrong trim line if my car. Then the rear engine seal started leaking and they had to keep my car and I had to rent a car to get to work

I can not fully explain how happy I am with my experience at Sudbury Hyundai. The sales team is very knowledgeable and a special thank you to Sean and Steve. We came in not sure what vehicle was going to make sense for us and Sean was able so sort through our mayhem and put us in a 2019 Santa Fe. He went the extra mile taking in our trade and getting the most money he could for it (he got more than any other dealer). Steve took the time to listen to how the vehicle was going to be used, in my case lots of km every week and he suggested a extended warranty that would minimize risk when it came to resale and repair. While I did not take him up on all of his suggestions I do believe there was an appropriate amount of value in the products in my situation.
After visiting many dealerships in town it is my belief that Hyundai has a product that competes with the big three and any other vehicle in the general market. I found that the standard features that come on their base models far surpassed that of any other manufacturer. The Santa Fe has a feature where the car senses movement in the back seats after the car is parked and will alert the driver that movement was detected in the back seat in the event that someone walks away from the car and leaves their child or pet. While I don’t think this is necessary for the vast majority of people it is my belief that if this feature saves even one life it is a worthwhile investment. I am very impressed that Hyundai included this in their vehicle and I hope other vehicle manufacturers follow suit soon.
If you are in the market for a car I strongly recommend you look into Sudbury Hyundai they really do want you to be in the right car for your needs and their attention to detail and their honesty blew me away.

Well where do you want me to start!!!! I purchased a new Hyundai Veracruz in 2008, for 45000 taxes in. Thank god I opted for the extended warranty which ran to 140,000 kms because I needed it. Since owning the vehicle I noticed that the vehicles door seals were rubbing I was expecting Hyundai to resolve the problem but was informed to just use a silicone spray on the seals once in a while which should solve your problem of course it did not !!! I have replaced the front struts both rear wheel bearings, rear wiper motor ,rear lift gate lock, back up sensor,compass on rear view mirror not working fortunately these items were under warranty, but it still is the my time to drive in and drop off the vehicle and inconvenience. And all this with less than 140,000 kms my brother who purchased a Toyota Highlander at the same time and has over 220,000 he just replaced a rear bearing and thats it other than brakes and tires. Poor quality overall won't be buying another Hyundai. !!!!!!!
