Purchased a new CR-V from Marc MacKinnom. Mark was great, no pressure and he accepted my counter offer. Marc also spent over an hour going over the new vehicle with me . This is a great dealership, have bought five new cars here since 2002. Much better service experience at Portland Street Honda than with Ford or GM dealers over the past 50 yrs of driving.
Went in and signed another lease at Honda despite reservations because of issues with my last car. It was a good deal, kept my payments the same, and let me get rid of a vehicle that I had to plug in every 3 or 4 days in order to keep the battery charged (even though the car was only 3 years old and had had a new battery installed). My salesman was great and I never had a problem with him, and he was able to get me in a newer vehicle (same model as the last) with no problems. I’m hoping this experience with the new car will be a more positive one. So far, so good so my fingers are crossed for this winter.

I went in looking for a used car for my wife. Luckily they just received an excellent trade in, I took it for a quick drive, and then negotiated the price and that was it. Very smooth experience. They still had to clean it up and service it. They did an excellent job on both. I would definitely come back here again to purchase more vehicles. They facility is also very impressive.
Dealt with Mike in sales when I went to purchase my new Honda. Mike was very friendly, very knowledgeable and didn't fit the stereotype of pushy car salesman. All questions or concerns were met with patience and full explanations if necessary. I would definitely return in the future to buy from Mike.
Have purchased 3 cars from the same rep, knew my situation and did what they could to make it work. When something didn’t go according to plan, we worked around it. I’d do it again, but I like my car now and plan on keeping it.

My last experience with the service department was far from being professional and lacked efficiency. I booked an appointment to get my Civic 2017 A/C looked at and fixed. The appointment was to do diagnostics and fix the manufacture A/C issue in civics which is covered under warranty. I had to adjust my work hours to be able to drop off the car and my wife had to leave work to pick up my car. At the end of the appointment all they had done was diagnostics and advised they didn't have the part and it was back ordered. They had added some more refrigerant which would last 2 weeks. Since they knew they didn't have the part I should have been given the option to bring my vehicle in once they had it in stock. It also did not seem like a responsible decision given the current circumstances of COVID.
I found them good. There a bit pricey on labor and the weight time is usually off by 45 min. They are pleasant , nice waiting area and sometimes surprised with free snacks and lunch. Overall good but I didn’t like the fact that I had to tell them there were service bulletins and recalls and transport Canada recalls. I really like the head office I had great customer service from the customer service manager. I will always buy Honda but may not go for service at Portland st. Honda.
We’ve had issues with the service department since we bought our CR-V 2 years ago, this time they were exceptional and we couldn’t fault them.
Hands down the best customer service I have ever had. It was like talking to informative friends. Jan shane sold us the HRV. No pressure and answered every question. Jenna helped us for at least an hour or more knowing it wasnt her commission. John and Cindy were very helpful and the whole experience was fun. It was the cleanest and prettiest show room we had seen. It was an amazing experience after scheduling an appt at Buick and getting no service at all. Same with Subaru where we felt like we were a bother. We also got extended warranties and I know we will have no issues if we need to use them based on the atmosphere of this place.
Was really nervous about going into a public place amidst the covid-19 pandemic. When I arrived I was extremely happy & impressed to see how Honda was handling it all.
Not once did I feel unsafe, even while I was sitting in the waiting area (all seating was spaced out 6ft or more). All I can say is thank you for looking out for your staff and your customers, it is very much appreciated and doesn't go unnoticed!
I also still have my PEI plate as I moved to Nova Scotia before all of this started and am unable to get a new NS plate until at least June/July. So to whomever it was that wrote up my service report, thank you for the little note welcoming me to Nova Scotia, that little act meant a lot to me and had really brightened up my day!

This is without a doubt the worst place I have ever been too. They are con artists or their product is so subpar that it is constantly having to be serviced. I would never go here or purchase a Honda again. People beware! This is not a joke, they are just out to get your money.
Great service, cost as quoted and Dawn Cook of the service department deserves a special mention, late Friday afternoon her spirit was as bubbly as 10:00 in the a.m. nice to see from someone in service that is not always the case with most places.makes the expense much easier to except.
After going to soooooo many dealerships and dealing with soooooo many dishonest, greasy, clueless sales people, I always find myself goong back to deal with Jennifer at PSH. Honest, straightforward, and good at her job. 3 cars from PSH over 12 years, likely going to be 4 this week.
A huge shout out to Jonathon in service who debugged a difficult-to-isolate cold start problem AND somehow squeezed me in on a Saturday when further tweaking was required. This Honda dealership actually knows how to negotiate instead of just forcing you to buy whatever the salesman wants.
I would seriously give it a 0 now if I could. Until today I thought this was the best dealership in Halifax/Dartmouth. I had gone in and asked for an estimate to fix a piece on my passenger mirror and they said it should be less than $200. I book the appointment and go in the next Saturday. I get there and they tell me they ordered the wrong piece and it will be over $400. I get them to look to see if somewhere else has it, they don't and then tell me the technician looked at it incorrectly and the $400 piece was actually over $700and I have to come back the next week.
This is not just a car dealership. Went for a service check today. While I waited I had access to free bottled water, comfortable seating, wifi, power supplies for my devices, TVs with news, sports and life channel. Very clean. Got a lot done. Not often a car appointment can be comfortable, easy and productive!

In August 2019, I was looking for a Honda Civic Coupe. The salesman didn't devote much of his time for me in offering me what I wanted and the dealer didn't have what I wanted on the lot. It seemed that the salesmen that I interacted with was very preoccupied with other customers and didn't really want my business. Thus, I took my business elsewhere to Colonial Honda where I got much better service and I was able to get a good deal on the vehicle that I was looking for.
Awesome customer service!! Brought Mom in law there to pick up her new car, she was treated like she was the only customer there!! I was impressed!! (That's not easy to do!!) I will seriously recommend this dealership to ppl. Thank you for the awesome service Portland Street Honda!!

I have always had very positive interactions at this place! The seem to empower their sales rep so there is not a lot of “I need to talk to my manager” going on. I really appreciate that. The place is nicely appointed and offers a number of additional amenities you may not expect! I have had at least 2 good meals here! (Not quite as good as the filling station food across the road though! But that’s for another review)

Last year on May 19, 2018 I purchased a car FOB battery Honda # 72148-S84-A10 (generic # CR2025) was made by Maxell and was told over the phone that they are very good quality. Well yesterday March 20, 2019 the battery died, it only lasted 10 months, usually from my experience FOB batteries be CR2025 or CR2032 ALWAYS lasted 10 years or so.
So yesterday I purchased another one from Portland St Honda and this one is made by Panasonic, I hope this one is a fresh batch as all batteries have a shelf life.

All around great experiences here. My extended family has bought vehicles here and also couldn't be happier with this dealer. Salesman are friendly, parts people are knowledgeable, and the service departments always call me back with an answer if I have to leave a voicemail. Will definitely be buying another car here in the future.

I purchased my new civic on May 30. My sales person was MacKenzie and he was great! Very patient and not pushy. I also had the pleasure of dealing with Jessica Drennan for the finance side of things. She was absolutely wonderful! She was very thorough in her information. While chatting with her she told me her "story" and at that time I found out she was new to the finance side and covering for a maternity leave. I was shocked because she knew her stuff so well, you would swear she had been doing it for years. Jessica was by far the best finance person I have ever dealt with for a car purchase!
