After reading all the negative reviews, they have one thing in common which is once you buy a vehicle from here and drive off the lot, they will leave you dry for things that should not go wrong in a brand new vehicle. Bought a brand new pick up and the amount of problems I've had is unbelievable. I will never buy a car from here and this is coming from an owner who has 3 GMC/Chevy vehicles. Check how long the vehicle has been on the lot for before even considering anything from here.

Also, save your time by not copying and pasting the same response to every negative review that is written.

If you own a GM product automobile, do not go here for service. I was quoted $1400 plus GST on brake overhaul and it just needed pads--not calipers & rotors. Got job done at a competitor for less than $350. I brought this to the attention of Service Manager and he made excuses and gave me the run around. They upsell you in Service Department. They try to get you to fix things that dont need fixing. Avoid this place or you will spend more money and even more money than you can imagine.

Beware do not buy from this dealership!! Save your hard earned money and go else where.

They do not care about the cars they sell to you their customers. They peal off the paper to new cars in the parking lot (supposed to be done in the shop to protect the paint). They also let their vehicles out to be driven for test drives before PDI's are done on them (look up PDI's their supposed to be done before the vehicle goes out on the road for good reasoning). Who knows if this has been done to your potential new purchase as well.

Inspect your vehicle thoroughly even if buying the next year up. For example it is 2020 when writing this. I bought a 2021, you would think there would be nothing to worry about. But even with all of the above, shortly after on my way back home to PG. I noticed marks/scratches on my paint. I was told to contact the manager for a switch for all this. Afterwards have just been strung along for days, just to be told they will not do it now.

They lied on my loan papers. It has been brought to the banks attention. Also slipped in a paper after we did all the signing, into the envelope to walk out the door with. Saying my vehicle was used. Never told me or showed me that when purchasing. Paper has some employees signature on it. To boot, I have had weird smells coming from under the hood into the vents.

When emailed about the situation finally by Sales and Customer Care at this dealership, he had made up lies about what happened in his email. Most likely to try and cover themselves with their lies.

*Update November 23rd/2020- Had a burning smell coming thorough my vents so bad one day, I had to shut my heat off on the way to work in -9 temperatures. Not cool.

Also emailed the owner first day he commented below and many others at this office as well. All they do is ignore you! Act like their trying to help to trying make themselves look good, but don't.

If I were you I wouldn't waste a dime here. Pay attention to all their negative reviews!

*Nov 28th update! They seem to avoid GM Motors Canada Customer Care as well. As they have not been able to get into contact with the dealership for close to 30 days!

GM Canada Customer Care isn't even guaranteeing me a courtesy vehicle well mine gets looked at for repair. Burning smells have returned twice since last update. Dealership where I live says this is not normal.

Joke of a whole company all together! How are me and my kid supposed to get to work and school during all of this? They don't care, even though I just dropped over $30 000 with them.

Try Toyota or Subaru, I hear they treat their customers better!

Last Summer I found a good deal online, on a clean used truck at Barnes Wheaton. I've dealt with many automobile salespeople over the years and I generally don't enjoy the experience. So a little reluctantly I made the trip to Surrey to check it out and try to make a deal. To start with I found the truck to be accurately described in good condition but when I started to deal with the sales staff I started to realize that the entire sales staff were genuinely nice people. It was kinda bizarre actually. I know that that's the idea with sales but so many people get it wrong, apply pressure and give misinformation but that wasn't my experience here at all. They seemed relaxed and pleasant. By far my most enjoyable vehicle purchase experience.

This service department is only open monday to friday. What happens to people who work monday to friday and can't make it? A year of free oil changes, but now i have to miss work to get there. So is it really a free oil change? These guys also want you to leave the vehicle ALL DAY for an oil change. there is nothing around you. what do you expect people to do all day while they wait for their vehicle? If i had known how terrible this service department was i would not have got a vehicle from this location. they also do not tell you on the phone you have to leave the vehicle for the day. they just surprise you when you get there. Preston and Dueck are open on saturday. Once these "free" oil changes are over i will not go back.

Great experience despite bad news with my car. After many negative experiences with the other dealership I purchased from, I switched to Barnes Wheaton South Surrey for service and I'm so glad I did! Even though initial diagnosis did not solve problem, and they had to keep my car longer than expected, and my bill ended up being more than I expected... the Service Dept. gave me great service and fixed my ride. Made an appointment 2 weeks ago, had my car in for service on time.
Found out the service team completely neglected my car 1 hour before closing time.

They told me they will get the asked service done in 1 hour. No way I was going to let them treat my car as a late assignment, rushing to finish the service in an hour when it was supposed to be a 3 hour job!

Unprofessional, untrustworthy, and very disappointed at how they were trying to deal with the situation.

So I have been looking for an used EV and wanted to use the SCRAP IT program but know one had what I wanted in the Used EV market. I continued to search and a 2016 SMART EV popped up in my search but it was located in South Surrey, I live on Vancouver Island. So I decided to give them a call with the hope that the vehicle would still be available in the near future and that they had a used SCRAP IT Token. Milad from BW GM was the salesman to pick up the phone and a few days later I'm driving down the highway to catch the last ferry back to the Island. Prior to committing to come over on the ferry BW GM and Milad sent me all the info about the car, and the payment options. All of this was on condition that the car was what they said it was. It was all that and more. Not really a fan of having to come to the lower mainland I was on the 3pm boat and back on the 9pm boat coming home. I did my research and knew what I was looking for and a good friend of mine who owned a SMART EV as well, came along for the trip. I was able to scrap my car in Victoria saving the trip on the Ferry and once the sale was complete BW GM sent me a copy of the SCRAP IT paper work so my rebate will be coming soon. A very pleasant experience even though time was limited. If you can save a buck it would be well worth a look a BW GM.

From the time of drop off to the time of pick up it took Barnes Wheaton 44 days to replace a clutch on my car. They played the blame game with the strike in the U.S. but, at the end of the day, they didn't even try to communicate what was going on with me. They simply left me for two weeks without a car (I had to get my own rental car until they provided a car), then radio silence for another two and a half weeks afterwards. No communication was done uninitiated which is not good customer service at all. It took an e-mail to the general manager to finally get it done and then, wouldn't you know it I got a call that day and the car quickly there after. My good nature was taken advantage of and when it was time to pay they had no problem with taking the full amount...no compensation...no apology...no nothing. This used to be a great place to get your car serviced but between this and a similar event during the summer it's clear their service quality has drop significantly. Not only am I done with this garage and dealership, I'm questioning whether I'll be purchasing any GM vehicles in the future.

I called the North surrey 152street location a few days back, when my car wouldn’t turn off because it wasn’t able to detect the remote key.. (and because I’ve only owned this car for 2 months I didn’t know it was suppose to be kept in the back cup holder) so I asked the person who answered the phone if someone can help me with my situation, she transferred me to service reception! The service receptionist named Sandeep was one rude person, I explained to her that my car wouldn’t turn off and I’m really nervous as I’m stuck in a grocery store parking lot with my 4 year old toddler, I asked if one of the service advisors can please help me figure out why the car isn’t turning off, she said everyone is busy including the service manager and that if I really needed help that badly I need to drive to there location as no one can come to the phone to help me! She was so rude and disrespectful, didn’t bother understanding how I was stuck in such a difficult situation with a crying kid in the backseat, at the end she just said call a tow truck 😐 she had no customer service skills at all!

After I hung up with her I called the other Chevrolet location in white rock, I explained to the service receptionist my situation and she got a service advisor on the phone with me immediately, his name was John and he kindly explained everything to me and my car started working right after I did what he said.. It literally took 2 minutes, I couldn’t thank him enough, I was so scared my car wasn’t turning off 😣 he was beyond helpful, he told me many other things I didn’t know about my car as well! I will definitely be coming to the white rock location to purchase stuff for my car and for future services.. I’ve never been to the North Surrey location in person but the service over the phone was so horrible that I will never step inside there location where such horrible customer service is provided!

Not acceptable. Would not recommend dealing with Lee from the finance department.

If I could rate this dealer in the negatives , I would not hesitate to do so .

I currently am on my second 3500 HD truck in the past few years , purchased from Randy in the Sales dept , The overall Sales experience was good and he was pleasant to deal with.

Both of my new diesels have had an aftermarket levelling kit installed in them , with a tire slightly bigger than factory by give or take an inch , which this dealership sold me. This is a kit that all of the other local dealerships in town install into their trucks as well , just for reference sake.

Fast forward to last thursday , I had an independant shop have a look at my alignment and note that my Tie Rods , Pitman arm and Idler arm were all shot , this in theory should have been covered by my 60K warranty as the truck has 58K on it now.

The vehicle is shipped over to Barnes , where I get great service from Blair in the service dept , I inform him the truck has a levelling kit which is aftermarket and commonly installed by other Local dealers such as Preston , Dueck etc. It gets booked in and he believes this should fall under the 60K warranty , which I suspected it would as well.

The following day , I recieve a call from the Service dept that the General manager has looked at it , and decided they will not be warrantying the failed suspension components as the Service manager is on holidays.

I'm also told that the front rotors are warped and they are no longer covered under the 60k warranty due to a new policy that went into effect a few weeks back , lowering this warranty to 12,000 kms. Sorry Larry but this truck had a 60K warranty on it when i purchased it new , you cant change this on a whim.

Needless to say this place is an absolute joke to deal with , minus Randy and Blair who have gone out of their way to try and help. The truck has been taken to another shop to complete the repairs under warranty , and I guarantee you will never sell myself or anyone I can possibly tell , a vehicle or any services ever again.

I felt compelled to write a review. I am 87 years old and thanks to my son who is helping me with this review I will express my never ending gratitude to Chris Wilson. I met Chris when I was looking for a bigger vehicle for my wife, who depends on a walker to now get around. Our car was just too difficult for the both of us to get in and out of, and Chris showed me the Chevrolet Trax. It was everything and beyond what I expected and especially for the price. Just purchased a couple used Chevy's (privately) - one for me, and another for my daughter. Hers only had one (chip) key, so I gave them a call to see if they could help me out. We ended up dealing with John H in the service department. Turns out there was a recall on the ignition, but he squeezed us in right away, and ended up saving us quite a bit (not only on a new key, but he pointed out an oil change promotion they have on right now). He also took the time to review the maintenance records on my vehicle. They're not the closest dealership in my area, but I will drive a bit extra to deal with John again.

Adam the so called SERVICE advisor... my wife and I went to Barnes as we were having issues with our Chev Trax, met with Adam 2WEEKS AGO... we made an apptmt to bring it in and have them give us a loaner to use for one day... 1st he screwed up the appointment time... we said we'd be there for 2:30... he wrote 4:30 he couldn't get a little thing like that right, should of seen the red flag there, he informed me I had to WALK to enterprise rent a car to get the vehicle, I thought I was in the SERVICE DEPT not the self serve dept... hold on didn't he say 2 weeks ago he was gonna get me a loaner? did he apologize? NO! he did not offer a solution or another time to bring it in cause maybe he didn't have a loaner.. NO! it was oh well..I guess I'm just another number there, some people get to comfortable in there positions and forget what true customer service is supposed to be.. I hope the Manager reads this.. your staff need training
