Acute Dispute

My friends mom had brought her Ford Eco Sport in for numerous repairs, the repairs where not done adequately, or in a timely manner. The car was declared unable to drive when it was dropped off , and when we picked it up it had all bulges in the tires and transmission still doesn’t shift right.

The Tecs at ford advertise they do the best work on your Ford car , with experiences like this, I cannot stand by this company any longer unless some serious changes are made at Maitland Ford. This dealership has single-handedly ruined my Ford experience. I am really thinking about buying a different companies vehicle now for my next vehicle. If I went to Highland this would have never happened.

I highly recommend do NOT going to this dealership. Find another one as service from this one is completely insufficient, and does not do the job up to Ford Standards they advertise!

I would Never Recommend their Service. I will never buy a Ford again. What a mistake.
1. Apointment booked for Nov 2, 2023, 1pm. I arrived at 1245. I sat patiently in the lobby until 414pm, I could see my care on on the lift with no tires. I was getting worried because They closed at 5pm and I had to work nights. They said, well normally they pull all the tires for the day that are in storage for the day in the AM. And it turns out they Lost my winter tires. They let me sit in the lobby for over 3 hours waiting, then finally when I asked, they told me. If they couldn't find then, they could have called me in the morning to reschedule, told me when I arrived or at some point when they took the tires off and realized there were none to put on. I asked them to put on the old tires and call me when they got them. Monday came and went, they never called me. I called then at 4pm to chase them down, they said sure, come pick them up. I Picked up my tires, but I was not happy. Left 4 messages with the Service Manager Don Rioux- Never called me back. I suspect that had I said nothing, they would have put my old tires on and charged me for it hoping I wouldn't notice. This is based on past behavior.
2. Wanted to get extended warranty work done on a 4 year old Ford Escape that is rusting out. Booked an appointment in Sept. Went the first week of October. Didn't hear back. Inquired while I was waiting for my lost tires to get installed. They told me, "yeah, you have been better off getting a quote yourself". Why wouldn't you have told me that in October or better yet in September when I booked the appointment. I now have the appointment booked with Guys Auto. Why wouldn't they have directed me there first.
3. Pay for service and can't trust if you got what you paid for. Had an oil changed booked April 28, 2022. I paid for one, and may not have received one. Didn't put a sticker on the window, didn't reset in the car. Got a notification from Ford it was overdue and not reported in their system either, called Maitland, they brushed me off and said, no it was done, bring it in and they reset the oil. I asked them to check it, they did not. Felt very unconvinced that it was changed.
4. Happened again April 3, 2023. There was a sticker updated on the windshield, but not updated with the car or Ford app. Got a notification from the car that the oil was in need of urgent change. I was in Tennessee in July. Got an oil change down there. The tech said there was no way that it was changed on April 3. I felt my heart sink. I was so stupid to have trusted them again, but they had my winter tires in storage, so I couldn't be done with them, yet, but then, they lost my tired. I hope that the ones returned to me are actually mine.
My husband is looking for a new car. There is no way we will even consider Ford. I realize that I'm not a big customer who spends a ton of money with them, but if you work hard for your money, don't spend it there, because you can't trust that the work is done, it could cost you your warranty and you might have to repeat the service with another provider.
I never make this type of reports on line or take to social media, but as Ford would not contact me back, I feel obligated to put our a warning to other unsuspecting people. I used to think that was Cliché that women get taken advantage of at the garage, not anymore

My Ford explorer that has 30000 km on it is has an intermittent squeal at the passenger side rear. Took it up to the dealership and they couldn’t find anything wrong with it, however, they charged us $80. My truck is under warranty and the noise is still there, the very next day. Worries me how many more $80 calls I’m gonna have to go up there to get this fixed. The customer service at this dealership has gone a little downhill over the last couple of years. We have noticed. We have purchased eight vehicles over the last 20 years with this dealership with great customer service, but it just doesn’t seem to be there anymore.

If you're looking for a vehicle from their tiny on-site inventory for something used, you might have some luck. However, if you're looking through the partnered dealership (off-site), don't bother putting an offer through Maitland. Contact the dealer directly.

I worked with a young kid named Ethan. Granted he seems new, he essentially wasted 3 days of back-and-forth trying to put through an offer to an off-site lot. It ended with him pitching a completely different vehicle they had on site, and then proceeded to ghost any further communication, even after bumping the offer as his claim was that the off-site dealers won't even budge a dollar.

I ended up calling a dealer directly, and made a deal within 3 hours. Again this may have been the specific salesperson.

Maitland Ford treats me with courtesy and respect. They listen to what I have to say about my Ford Fusion Hybrid Titanium and answer any concerns I may have and do their best to fit me in for vehicle maintenance within a proper time frame.
Shuttle service is also good, driver was polite and called me ahead of time to let me know that he was at my destination. Would I recommend Maitland Ford, Yes I would.

I really like the truck I purchased - it was in awesome condition with very low kilometres. The staff were friendly to deal with. That being said, in my opinion, communication with the Salesman and Used Car Sales Manager was poor. I live in Thunder Bay and the truck would be delivered to Thunder Bay. The tires on the truck didn’t pass Maitland Ford’s safety check. I was told a set of used Michelin Tires would be put on. After doing some research on tires needed for towing and knowing the tires that originally came with the truck, the used set of Michelin tires were sub-standard. I questioned the salesman after doing the research asking how these tires would perform for towing. Maitland ended up putting a new set of 10 ply Cooper tires on the truck (nice tires by the way). My point is, the salesman should have known this ahead of time as he knew I needed the truck to tow a travel trailer. If I didn’t do research and ask the question, I would have had sub-standard tires on the truck for towing and for sure would impact the truck’s GVWR or what weight I could tow. Something I would have had to pay extra later on. The Sales Manager that was involved in the deal pretty much from the beginning (sitting in the salesman’s chair throughout negotiating the price and trade in) communicated with me 0% (after deal was agreed upon) after I left emails and telephone voice messages for him. The salesman for sure could improve communication at his end too. No reason for this with all devices we have today. Again, nice vehicle and a fair price but poor communication. As I mentioned, I live in Thunder Bay so it’s not like I could drive over and ask the questions. Rating of 2 stars due to poor communication.

Buying an auto is aggravating to begin with and this was no different.
The salesman was OK but not great. He had to call in his fast talking
associate to approve throwing in snow tires & rims.
When I picked up the vehicle a week later as the tires had to be ordered,
a km down the road the low tire pressure light came on. I returned and they
took it in to check it. half an hour later it was returned and the salesman
told me the fellow that installed the tires & rims never bothered to check the
tire pressure. ( Duh ).
When paying they tried to charge $150 for gas after previously telling me
it was included. When I mentioned this to the salesman he said " you can't
blame me for trying.

We're with our grandkids on a road trip from BC, and the truck started throwing out a bunch of unusual error codes, and lost all power, over the long weekend. I came in at 8:00am on Tuesday and they managed to find the problems, and had the parts on hand to effect a repair, saving our vacation and getting us back on the road by 2:30pm on the same day!!
