My fiancé and I recently purchased a truck from Taylor Bunnell at downy ford in Sussex, we experienced nothing but excellent service throughout the whole process, they were able to get us exactly we wanted and made the whole process of trading in and receiving our new truck very easy! Also shoutout to Carmen McAllister the finance manager for being so helpful and Mohammed Syed the general manager for all your help. We are pleased that we made the drive in from Moncton to deal with Downey ford
Downey Ford Sussex deserves more than a 5 star review. I purchased a new Ford Escape from Sales Consultant Leslie Sears and the service was exceptional! Leslie (along with the General Manager Mohammed Syed) went above and beyond checking everything off my list to make this purchase work for me (and I was very specific) . Never at any point have I felt pressured. Leslie always took the time to answer any questions or concerns, which was very much appreciated. Also, a shout-out to Carmen McAllister, their Finance Manager who is very friendly and made the financing process a smooth one! I would definitely recommend anyone looking for a new vehicle to give Leslie a call, you won't regret it! By far the best car buying experience yet!
3 weeks ago, I was in to get my brakes done. Upon removing my brakes they informed me they noticed one of my calipers was “ceased” even though there was no way that was possible, I had driven the car from Moncton with no smoke, no limping of one side, (I’ve had calipers go on previous cars, this was not the case). So, they deemed the car unsafe to drive, and would not let me take it home without signing a form. They informed me the part they ordered in was defective and they wouldn’t see a new part until the following day around 10 am (I was supposed to leave for Quebec that day). They told me they couldn’t find the part any closer and that was my only option. So I called bumper-to-bumper myself, low and behold they had the “right side front caliper” (the part we were told to get over the phone, which to me translates to passenger side) so I drove from sussex to moncton and back to have the part put on that day in an attempt to still leave on time for the trip. When I arrive to Downey, they say “oh no it’s the wrong part! We tried to call you and left a voicemail that it was the driver side caliper you needed”… but I was informed “right side front?” To which the reply was “oh because she was standing looking at the car, not inside of it… I’m sorry this is a car dealership, we should know passenger and driver side terminology. They said “that’s why we couldn’t find the part faster, they don’t have it in Moncton” so I rushed back to Moncton, to bumper to bumper once again, grabbed the correct part and brought it in the following morning for 8.
They quoted the caliber plus labour for 318$, but somehow were only able to take 50$ off the final bill. All said and done, a brake job with customer supplied car parts should not have costed 1400$, and my brakes now sound worse and act worse than when I originally brought it in. Will never come back here.
I came form Nova Scotia to purchase a vehicle from Downey, and it was worth the drive. The team was helpful, friendly, and very easy to deal with, patiently answering all my questions. Since I'd never purchased a vehicle from a dealership before, I wasn't really sure what to expect, but it was quick and painless.
Went in for a oil change. while looking at a escape hybrid and talking to Taylor Bunnell about this car we bought it. she was very helpful and went out of her way to answer all of our questions . All of the sale staff were very helpful.
A great place to do business. Taylor was our sales consultant and she was a pleasure to deal with, vey personable and honest. Carman was also very pleasant and efficient, actually any staff we interacted with were pleasant and welcoming. I would definitely recommend Downey Ford Sussex.

Brought my Mustang in to service department to have the rear camera fixed and another defect and during booking I asked the service lady to check the tire pressure in my tires. Upon picking up the vehicle she tells me I owe $56.37 for checking the air in my tires. WOW, a whole 30 seconds. I 1st thought it was a joke as I assumed it would be a common curtesy since they made a bundle of money replacing the parts. I was so upset and even spoke to the manager who was a joke. I was robbed and hope everybody reads about this and avoids this dealership at all cost. The worst thing about all of this was I had plans of purchasing another mustang from them but their greed was overshadowed by their intelligence.

Definition of a STEALERSHIP! Amazing service, until you need work done under warranty. Hal is rude. As soon as you have the slightest disagreement with what he's saying, he snaps at you. Had to argue to get a loaner, and the loaner they gave me was caked in mud. Had to spend $10 at car wash to take out the to remove all the mud in the rims. Not to mention he refused to give me a loaner, until I asked to speak with the manager.
I recently bought a new car with Amber, she was and is amazing. Found the perfect car for us with a few beautiful upgrades. Highly recommend.

Downey Ford just offered me top market value for my 2020 Elantra Sport, $16,000 according to them. Not sure if this was an error on their end but they stuck by those numbers. Not a great first impression...
2020 Hyundai ES Never winter driven, immaculate condition, 27, 000kms, inspected, fully loaded, lane assist, leather, sunroof etc... Detailed, ceramic coated 3 times, all services and then some.... $16,000 offer sounds like a typical dealer trying to take advantage of people.
I checked the market sell value, which is $25,600 . I also have 4 other offers from dealers, $22,000 being the lowest.

Went in to get my ac fixed on my Ford Explorer.... I came out with a 2022 Ford Bronco Sport Outer Banks lol. The price they gave me for the explorer was way more then I taught they would. Missy was my sales rep, she worked super hard to give me the best deal possible. She was very friendly and professional. Carmen was the finance rep very professional extremely approachable. She gave me a deal on a extended warranty that soothed my needs.
Overall experience very welcoming team, professionals, service team also was quick and masters of there trades.

Great experience. After being told by another dealership my tire couldn't be fixed, went to Downey to get some tires installed, which is when they noticed that my flat tire was actually repairable. They patched it up and I was able to get home.
Samantha was great in offering my daughter and I a loaner vehicle while work was being done, as well the staff in general was very helpful in keeping my daughter entertained, nice people all around.
This dealership went above and beyond to make me happy and fix the issues I had with the other dealership, suffice to say I willing be dealing with Downey as my main ford dealership for future business.

Very poor service. They Don"t even come out of the building to see what their costumers are looking at or want. Not friendly or inviting at all. It is a wonder they do any business.

I usually have exceptional service at the Sussex location. The staff are always very friendly and helpful. Unfortunately this past experience was not the case. While I was driving my wheel fell off while I was driving. Luckily myself and my infant children were not harmed as my vehicle slammed to the ground. I had my vehicle towed to the Sussex location. Upon inspection of my vehicle I was told all I would need is a new rim and a few parts. This was not a worry because everything is under warranty and my vehicle is newer. I waited four days for my vehicle to be fixed when I was told it would only be a day. Once I received my vehicle I quickly noticed something was very wrong, if I took my hand off of the wheel I would be quickly pulled to the side of the road. Not feeling safe with little children in my car I quickly called and discussed the issue. My car was taken in again and yet again it was at their shop for four days. I received a phone call and was told my vehicle is ready. The only thing was there was damage done to my vehicle that was not covered by warranty that was stopping them from completely fixing my wheel and simply told, We tried our best to complete the work but aren’t successful if you have any more issues call us back. I tried explaining to the service manager that I should not be held responsible for more damage to my vehicle that was caused by a warranty malfunction and I am held responsible for the cost. I was then told that’s what insurance is for. I tried explaining it is a difficult time and I do not have money to cover my 500$ deductible, his response was “ well that’s life “. I am still trying to figure out this mess. This is not my first bad experience with Downey ford and I am sure it won’t be my last !!
