Hi everybody. I just bought a used car from Island Ford on Friday, September 8, 2023. I had seen a car on their website that I was interested in two weeks earlier, phoned them to give a deposit on my credit card, then took a ferry over from Vancouver, BC, to pick it up. Of all the dealerships that I have ever dealt with in the past, this was the smoothest and easiest purchase that I have ever made. From the salesperson Matt Cadzow to the sales manager Kyle Martin to the finance manager Amado Rodriguez, I felt no pressure or obligation whatsoever and they were all helpful and accommodating throughout my experience with them. I would definitely buy another vehicle from them in the future even though they're in Duncan and I'm in Vancouver.

Matt Cadzow was a great help. Came onto the lot to see a truck that caught my eye. We chatted a bit and I took it for a drive while he worked on numbers. Everything went smooth and I had a new truck quite quickly. He's a fantastic salesman and doesn't make you feel pressured. Was a great overall experience and would recommend Matt to anyone!
Most disappointing. I had exceptionally good service when I purchased my car and Rob promised that the service department was worth the drive from Victoria and i would be accommodated. I made an appointment 2 weeks ago for an early morning appointment. I was greeted by Cathy who did not smile and my appointment was now 2-3 hours. I returned 45 minutes later and my car had not been taken in for service and there was no indication when it might be. And it would still take 2-3 hours. And this is for an oil change and for a mechanic to open the driver’s side window and let me know if the noise was an issue. I left without having any work done. This should not have been an all day project. I will try to get my servicing in Victoria.

The problem I have with ford is recalls. The transmission failed in my 2015 Fiesta and Repair was not under warranty even though I purchased an extended warranty. A have the original bill of sale which supports this assertion. I was then given only 5K to trade on this Escape which now has an engine recall immediately after I have had the repair work done on the recall for hood fire. This is absolutely not satisfactory at all. Island Ford is an excellent dealership and I do not hold them in anyway responsible for product failure initiated at the production stage.

We had been trying to find a plug-in hybrid, but were told everywhere that there was a 6 month or longer wait for one. Happened to check the Island Ford website where a couple of hybrids were listed so I chatted online with sales rep Charlton and we arranged to go and found there was one available so we arranged to view it the next day. Charlton was extremely helpful and pleasant to work with. We almost didn't buy the vehicle because of the interior upholstery until Charlton worked out a deal splitting the cost of re-upholstering in black leather. Amado in finance was also great to deal with. Only fly in the ointment was that there was a delay in getting the upholstery done and it took over a week to get the car back although this was not the fault of the dealership or the upholsterer. All in all, a great experience buying the vehicle at this dealership.

WOW, am I ever impressed with Island Ford! My vehicle was making a weird noise last night, so I drove it to Island Ford as that's where I bought it. Even though they were fully booked in their repair shop, they knew that I needed my car to travel for work. They were able to discover the issue and get it fixed by noon the next day. They also washed and vacuumed my vehicle, which was fantastic as I had just returned from a camping trip and it was a complete mess. Top notch service. Thanks guys and gals!!
I wanted to get the paint protection done on my new Bronco. Suburban Motors in Victoria wouldn't even call me back regarding it. My dad suggested Island Ford and it was easily worth the drive up to Duncan. Sandra was quick, easy, and flexible to book with (she even texted me as I couldn't answer the phone due to being in a meeting). Boris provided impeccable customer service when dealing with him in person to both drop off and pick up my vehicle even offering me rides both to and from the rental car dealership. I will gladly drive up to Duncan to deal with Boris for all my Ford needs in the future.
I only have great things to say about this dealership. We weren't even planning on buying a vehicle right that day and ended up going back to Victoria with a new Bronco! The sales representative Simon was so friendly and knowledgeable and was a pleasure to deal with. The sales manager was great too. I've certainly had painful experiences in the past at car dealerships but this was an entirely different experience. It was our first purchase at Island Ford but it won't be our last. I was specifically looking for an in-stock Mach E. I tried 20 other Ford dealerships all over BC, and no one could help me. All of them advised me to make a factory order. When I called Island Ford, I was greeted by Carson. He advised that they do not have a Mach E in stock, however, we can get an interim Ford Fusion plug-in hybrid while we wait for Mach E. He was able to provide me an out-of-box solution that satisfied all my needs and requirements. I traveled all the way from Vancouver to the Island for this interim vehicle. Respected my time and supported my efforts to come down to the showroom - I had my eye on a great, sporty ride. I don’t have any preconceived ideas of how it should have gone but I’m happy to say it was one of the nicest ‘big purchase’ experiences I’ve ever had from a gem of a salesperson! From the moment I walked in I felt welcomed. The space is inviting, bright and clean. The sales department were all friendly even though I was working with only one person - so I felt taken care of. Abe and I spent the majority of our time talking about life and probably 10% of the time on the car. No pressure, no gimmicks, no BS. Abe was genuine, personable and was attentive to my needs. It’s clear that the work culture here is client focused and employees are primarily mentored to seek out the needs of drivers rather than pushy sales targets.
In over 20 years of experience, I have had in buying and selling cars at dealerships across BC, my recent experience at Island Ford has been by far the best. I purchased a 2020 Mustang GT Convertible and did not have to step into the dealership even once to get the deal done. In fact, I live in a different city. The entire purchasing process was done online via email and phone calls. And here is the sweet spot – the vehicle was picked up from another location in BC by Island Ford and dropped off at my home front door-step. After inspecting the car and being satisfied with the vehicle, only then did I sign the sales paperwork at my house which the sales rep brought with him along with the vehicle (and the keys). WOW! ENOUGH SAID. The deal was fair, honest and without any gimmicks. There were no surprises or changes at the time of purchase based on our past conversations (WHICH WAS DONE AT MY HOUSE). It is very rare these days to find an honest car dealership who run their business solely based on customer satisfaction – and Island Ford is definitely an honest and fair dealership with excellent customer service. I would highly recommend asking for Amado Rodriguez (sales representative) and Kyle Martin (sales manager) – these guys are professionals and will do anything to ensure their customer is 100% satisfied. I had just recently received my drivers license, and was in the market for a great first car. Island Ford showed a fantastic Genesis Coupe that was out of my price range. I thought to myself, “maybe I’ll take a shot in the dark, see if they are nice enough to lower it.” And lower it they did.
All in all, an incredible buying experience. Everything was taken care of, and I had no concerns about the car, as they had everything covered. Truly worth visiting, as I wouldn’t have gotten a perfect deal on a fantastic car if it wasn’t for my sales person Amado, and the general atmosphere of the dealership. I felt in control, with no cars being forced on me. I knew that my well-being came above all else at this establishment.
Ultimately, I highly recommend this dealership to anyone and everyone. They treated me with great kindness and put my feelings first. (Formerly Ken Evans Ford) 2013 Escape. The reception each time we come in for service are always nice so i gave them 5 stars. HOWEVER, the SERVICE is 0 star! what a disappointment!:-((( from 2013 till the end of the 3 year warranty we always have to go back each time because things are not done right! When we dropped it off for the first service check they were so careless and left a BIG DEEP scratch on a black vehicle! seriously?!? I was dumbfounded but then again because its convenient and the warranty, we have no choice but keep having it serviced in the same dealership location and again and again its either parts are not properly installed back together and making some noise or just crappy service! you can see it once you open and inspect the hood! I can only imagine the parts that are not visible and can't get to it, you will rely on how the vehicle runs and the sound it makes...
They say always go to the dealer you will pay a little more but the service is great! Yeah right! NEVER AGAIN! This is just like having expertise in electrical service but doing mechanical work.

I bought my car from Jordan but since he's not there anymore, Ivan has been here helping me with car questions and information that I've needed. They have a great service department and help with figuring out what's been going on with my vehicles when I can't figure it out myself. They're always helpful and dog friendly.
