Vickar Chevrolet worked with my crazy schedule and got me in for an oil change and had a cold air intake installed in my 2020 Silverado that has never been installed in Canada. They did both in less time then most dealerships take to do an oil change alone! The staff were also very professional and nice to.deal with. It was my first time buying a vehicle, and it went so easy!
I dealt with Courtney as the sales man, and Sheri the finance lady. Both were great to deal with, and made getting into my 2015 GMC Sierra easy.
Courtney was very honest and helpful, when it came to all the questions I had about the vehicle, and made sure I left happy with the final decision!
Sheri was extremely professional, and great with explaining everything about financing!

I will never be back to this dealership, and neither should you.

I am from out of town and while in Winnipeg my truck threw a check engine light and had a clear misfire in cylinder 1. After some diagnosis and simple checks I took it in hoping for some advice and a quick diagnosis. It took several hours to talk with anybody on the phone, and after getting minimal progress I ended up walking to the dealership just to talk with somebody. I ended up booking an appointment for diagnosis the next day, and dropped my truck off later that day.

After dropping my truck off it was a couple day wait for any news of what the issue was or could be. After receiving the diagnosis as a likely collapsed lifter, they continued diagnosis to see what would be required for a fix - at this point I borrowed a car from a friend and returned home to work.

About a week later I was getting frustrated, so I kept calling the dealership while also working with Chevrolet customer service to help me get through for answers and this did not help much.

After much waiting I finally received the diagnosis that it would require a camshaft replacement, or an engine replacement. At this point I asked for a few quotes for what would need to be done as well as looked at independent garages closer to home.

I received the quote from the local garage by early afternoon the same day and kept waiting to see if GM would assist with my issue as my truck had just passed the deadline for powertrain warranty and was well under the KM threshold at 128000km.

GM would not assist with the issue. I attempted calling the dealership to get some information on price point for the work but could not get through to anybody.

While trying to get in contact with an advisor, I asked another rep about the status of my vehicle only to be told that "the timing chain has arrived", I asked if that was for the wrong vehicle but was assured it was mine as they confirmed my name. After spending the afternoon frantically trying to get in contact with somebody to stop any potential work on my vehicle that is not needed, the day ended and nobody was left at the dealership. Starting the next morning I placed 21 phone calls to the dealership from the time the dealership opened, YES TWENTY-ONE CALLS, until I finally was able to talk with somebody. I found out that my vehicle was not getting a new timing chain and that was another service record. I was also finally able to get a quote from them for the work and I immediately told them to pack my parts in a box and store them in the cab of my truck so they would be ready for pickup as I am coming with a tow truck.

See the attached pictures for how I found my vehicle when I arrived at the dealership. Also note that my truck was left UNLOCKED with all of my personal belongings and tools in the cab while all of my engine parts were sitting in my truck box exposed. At this point it had been in their care for about two weeks, and who knows how long it had been in that state.

After recovering from the shock of the lack of care shown to my vehicle, we loaded my truck on a trailer and got out of there.

I wish this is where the frustration ended, but it is not. Half way home, I checked my truck again and noticed something critical, I was missing my removed cylinder head, and at this point the dealership was already closed for the weekend. Not wanting to mess around any more and with no patience remaining, I sent an email to as many names at the dealership as I could find highlighting this sad state of affairs and indicating that I would be issuing a charge dispute with my bank if things were not resolved immediately. Amazingly, this had results!

Dropped car off for a 1 PM wheel balancing appointment. Show up at 4 PM still not done. I am told in a nasty tone "well it's tire season so we are running late". I proceed to wait in the lobby. An hour later I've had enough and ask how much longer. Lady asks for my name and says, Oh your car has been done for a while now. Nobody thought to let me know?! Are you kidding me?

As though things couldn't get any worse, they try to charge me $130+ when I was quoted $15 per wheel.

Disorganized and unprofessional. Will never go back.

P.S. Shuttle drivers were a pleasure. Shout out to them.

Went in for a service and a tire rotation. Was told by the service advisor that a retourquing my tires wasn’t necessary. What!!! How about the safety of your customers and others on the road. Common knowledge that this is normal practice. Shame on you!!!

However, The reason for my 3 star rate is all due to service.
I have always religiously taken my vehicle for servicing and maintenance, always buy my vehicles from them, but the past 3 service visits have been very frustrating. I do not get phone calls anymore saying my vehicle is ready, Instead i have to call throughout the day to check in and be bounced around between different advisers. I understand that the day can be stressful and busy, but some sort of notice would be nice.

We took our car in for service. Had a few scheduled maintenance things done plus a couple of things that were a serious issue. Spent $1600 and went on our way. It is expected that service and maintenance comes with a price, it is part of owning a vehicle. Where I am having a problem is, the car sounds worse than before. It is making noises that are downright scary! My husband, Dale King went back with the car, a few days after the car was fixed and as soon as it became noisy. He spoke with Jay and one other fellow and they said it was "normal" noise! They ran a diagnostic on it and it showed nothing and again said that it is just normal! They said the service we had is guaranteed and not to worry. So, off my husband went. Well, the car seems to drive fine, but the noise is so unnerving, I am scared to drive it and have resorted to taking the bus! We called and again was told it is normal noise! We bought the car from Vickar and have been satisfied until now. We have only had it serviced there, so we expect quality work. I am very disappointed that they don't seem to be willing to help. I am not prepared to spend more money for something that should have been fixed properly. It was not making these noises when we brought it in. Really not sure where to turn and now I am stuck with a car I am scared to drive!! Very disappointed in a company that I used to have faith in.

Brought my car in for a recall fix. I was told that if I was dropping off my car for a recall fix, then I could get a courtesy drive back home, but not that day, since they were too busy. But if I came first thing the next day then I will definitely get the ride. Nice, that would mean that I don't have to wait there half the day for the fix. So I left to come back the next day.

Came back the next day, bright and early, and tried to make arrangements for a courtesy ride. Was told that they don't give courtesy rides for recall fixes. Oh, but I was told yesterday by your coworker that I could get a courtesy ride SPECIFICALLY for a recall fix if I came back today. Nope, can't be done. Had to inconvenience someone else last minute to come pick me up because I couldn't stay there and wait.

People make mistakes, I understand that, I was in customer support. The appropriate course of action would've been to apologize and accommodate me with a ride though, (i.e., do what you said that you were going to do).

My husband and I had a meeting set up with Andrew to discuss us buying a new van in the near future as our 2004 Chevy venture van’s life was coming to an end. We were not in a rush but it just so happened a 2013 Dodge Grand Caravan has just come in and we were able to take it for a test drive to see how we liked this style but really anything was an upgrade from what we had.

Andrew informed us that he was headed for holidays and Jay would take care of us and that’s exactly what he did. We ended up buying the van we test drove a week later and both guys were polite, knowledgeable and not pushy at all. I bought a new 2016 Cruze from Vickar Chevrolet last week and I must say the experience there was just AMAZING. I would strongly recommend Peter as he is a very professional, responsible, friendly and patient salesman who values his customers. He even gave me a instruction document he made himself to tell me how to set Onstar for my new car. I felt very comfortable dealing with him and I believe you will get the same feeling as me. Our salesman was Jack Campbell. We were looking for a 2013 Equinox, and saw one in the showroom. We had just started looking, and by the time we decided on the one in the showroom, it was sold. Jack searched and found us a red one in Alberta. Because of weather delays and the fact that we had sold our 2006 Equinox already, Jack was very quick to offer us a demo model to use while we were waiting for our car to arrive.
