Car Servicing

Do not take your car there. I brought it there for a safety on a 1 year old certified pre owned Toyota vehicle with 30 000 km that I bought from Birchwood Toyota in Winnipeg. They told me I needed new brake pads and rotors because I had rust on my rotors. I didn’t drive my car for 3 weeks while I was in classes and could walk to work. It was really wet and slushy in the spring there was a bit of surface rust. My first drive in weeks was to the service centre so of course I had surface rust. The metal is exposed to the elements. I got the new rotors because I didn’t care to argue and within a week.... guess what. They were rusted on the surface after being parked outside in the conditions.....

I also need the well known “wheel alignment” but the service manager never gave me the sheet showing the specs. He just charged me for it without showing me any of the tests.

Next time I brought it to them for an oil change. They unplugged my dash cam during the service. They didn’t have signage saying no dash cams and told me it was on my service slip to approve the work but I didn’t sign that until after the service. They didn’t plug it back in after they were done and didn’t tell me they unplugged it either. The following week I got in an accident and didn’t get the footage because somehow my dash cam was not plugged in. I called them back and they blamed me for not knowing the privacy laws and for not noticing it myself. They said they would send me the laws and their policies but never did.

The shadiest service centre in town. Poor management as well. I wrote my car off with the dash cam and was gonna get a new Prius but walked straight across the street and bought a Honda after that situation.

If you just would handled the situation better your dealership would have got my business. I won’t be back. I might buy a Toyota again in the future, but never from this dealership. Thanks MJ Toyota for wasting my time and money.

Be careful with their price always check with another toyota dealer! For example same car with another toyota dealer is cheaper 12500 cheaper for toyota avalon 2020! I have a prove another dealer told me you’re not the first one complaining regarding price!

Great place to get service, parts or a new vehicle. Service and parts are very knowledgeable. They are always friendly and try to help you out as much as possible. If they don't know the answer they will book you in to the techs and get everything sorted out. The sales team is fantastic they always have he answer to my questions and if they don't off the top of their heads they find out in a timely manner. They give you all the information and let you make your decision on if you shoukd get a vehicle or not. They don't pressure you or push. I have never once been hounded with phone calls because I didn't buy somthing that day. And once you do buy they call randomly (once or twice a year) just to see how things are going and if there is anything they can do to make your vehicle or experience better. I will always go talk to them with all of my Toyota needs.

My wife and I worked with Dan O. to purchase a 2020 Highlander this spring. Being that we live an hour away from MJ, the majority of the dealing was done via email and phone. Dan was excellent to work with and always prompt to reply to our questions and concerns. He located the vehicle with the exact trim and color that we wanted and had it at the dealership and ready to go for us very quickly. The purchase process with his finance team was smooth and he even assisted us in getting my wife's plates swapped over with an SGI broker in town. Pretty displeased with how my sale went on my car. A deal breaker for me was command start from the get go, and is the only reason I ever bought a new vehicle. Salesman promised me my vehicle came with command start, and upon arrival of my vehicle couldn't figure out why it didn't work. It wasnt until well after I signed the papers and had already driven the car that I was informed my vehicle did not come come with command start. It's a good car but the salesman didn't know what he was selling and made false promises.

I took them a working vehicle with a slight oil leak to diagnose. I received a vehicle with no gear selector on the dash, no reverse lights, and a flashing 4-LO, check engine, and traction control lights on the dash. They didn't have any solution other than look at it myself and book another appointment if I couldn't fix it.

Edit for owner's response:
- Owner accuses me of bringing in the vehicle with these problems already present. So your technician test-drove the vehicle but either failed to notice and report all the dash light indicators, or those lights were not on during the test drive (hence the problem occurred some time after the test-drive).
- Why would I request your 55-point inspection? It's a 10-year old vehicle and I thought it would be good to look for anything that needed preventative maintenance.
- Cause of the problem turned out to be a blown fuse. Your service department didn't think to look at the fuses when noticing an electrical problem? Or call me to ask if i'd like it looked into? Are you amateurs?
- You hand back a vehicle in this condition and then accuse the customer of lying? Are you trying to sabotage your reputation?
- The vehicle was picked up before you closed. See the time stamp of exactly 17:00 on the point of sale receipt.
- Don't worry, I won't set foot in your fine establishment again.

Recently purchased a new rav4 XLE 2020 from Moose Jaw toyota and the experience by far has been awesome. Customer services were on point and lots of friendly good advices throughout. I’m from Southern Ontario and when I reached your city I realized that I very much needed new run-flat tires before I could continue my trip west. Your service people did a fantastic job with the tires and even managed to give my car an oil change too. After dropping the car off to your place of business, your staff drove me back to my hotel then picked me up again when the car was ready. Your staff even washed my van.

Immensely disappointed. I went in after reading the reviews and test drove a vehicle. Went through the whole application for a pre approval and never heard a peep from anyone within the time frame specified by the finance department.

A few days later I called back and spoke with finance manager and found out thata large portion of thequestions I had answered during my test drive were somehow missing. So I answered them all over again and was again promised a call back in a day or two.

February 2nd, 2018 will be two weeks of pure silence from their end.

Not impressed and extremely disappointed.

Update:I contacted the company this morning and had a talk with them and the gentleman was extremely apologetic and friendly. Apologized profusely and I look forward to doing business with them soon!
