Selling my vehicle. 1st person that I talked to said they could offer around 16500 price range. 2nd employee calls me the day I am leaving to bring vehicle and says they can only offer around 15,500. I call back a week later and speak with 2nd person again who said she would not have told me 15,500 last week. Needs to see it first, understandable. She says again she wouldnt have said 15500 price range. I said that I am not getting this info. out of thin air and she hangs up. Bad business!

Have been communicating with one of the sales team, Darren, for quite some time. He has always been super courteous and helpful. Sending me frequent emails and video updates. Yesterday we made the drive down and took 3 cars out for a test drive. Darren was fantastic, walked us through the many options available to us. We decided on a 2024 Outback. Super excited for it's arrival now. Highly recommend using Hilltop Subaru, all the staff seemed friendly, informed and not pushy like most car sales. Buy a Subaru you won't regret it

Worst service I have ever received. Billed me for service on a repair that Hilltop couldn't do because they didn't have the part. I was told the part would be in by the end of the week (Which was important as I was heading over the Rockies mid-winter the following weekend.). Billed and paid for the part in advance. End of the week, no part. middle of the following week, no part. End of the following week, the part arrives and service manager at Hilltop tells me they can't install it for at least two weeks. I asked why they didn't book me in when initially ordering the part? Service manager literally couldn't care less. I called CAP-IT, asked if they could do it Friday afternoon as I was heading for Calgary Saturday morning. Dave the owner understood the situation. He invited me over and even though the shop was busy, he had it done in 1/2 hour. As of now all my repairs and servicing go through Vernon's CAP-IT. They've never let me down. Next week, I'm car shopping. Needless to say, it will not be at Hilltop Subaru. Never again.

Purchased my new Legacy from Hilltop this week and it is an awesome car. Frede the salesman was great took his time and tried to teach me all the new gadgetry that is in vehicles today but am slowly getting used to it. Laura and Dana were also very friendly and helpful in getting the paper work done. Oh I forgot to mention Winter, she also is very friendly especially when you scratch her ears. I wish that I lived in Vernon, so that I could continue to take my Subaru into Hilltop. The customer service was outstanding. They were able to get my vehicle in for the same day when all other shops in Vernon seemed to have a 2 week wait. Initially the appointment was for 4pm, but they took the initiative to call me back when there was a cancellation to advise me that they could get me in earlier. On top of that, I called a cab to meet back up with my friends at Lake Kalamalka while they were looking at my vehicle and one of their staff members (Laura) was kind enough to give me a ride instead! This review is not based on a sale or even an in-person experience at the dealer, but I have to share it because I’m still overwhelmed.

We searched all over BC for the exact Subaru we wanted. The only one I could find was listed here, 6 hours away from Vancouver (where we live).

I called to inquire, and was told nicely by Darren (I didn’t get his last name, but I suspect it’s Derochie) that the vehicle I wanted was just sold.

By all expectations, our interaction should have ended there. But it wasn’t. Darren VOLUNTEERED to go through the inventory of all Subaru dealers in Western Canada for me at no cost.

He found one for me in the Lower Mainland, one unit that I missed when doing a local search, and the only one of its kind left on a lot west of Ontario. And instead of charging me anything to deal through Hilltop, Darren just connected me with the dealer with in Metro Vancouver with the car and asked them to wait for my call.

I’ve since bought the vehicle. It won’t register on Darren or Hilltop’s books as a sale, and they didn’t make a cent on this whole process. But without them going out of their way to help, I would likely not have found the car my family wanted.

This is above-and-beyond sales service. I would have added another 2 or 3 stars to the rating if Google would have let me.

Developed an oil leak on our 2010 Forester while driving from Nelson to Kamloops. Booked an appointment at Hilltop Subaru on the way back. Was informed it was a crank oil seal leak, and that it might take 3 days just to get the seal/timing belt/water pump kit in ( thought I may as well get it all done while apart) and then a few days to fit it in. However they got it all completed in just 3 days and even did a complementary wash of the vehicle, as it was pretty dirty after driving on the sanded/salted highways. Really pleased with the quick service, thank you.

I had a great experience with your front line staff. I came in unexpectedly with an issue on my 2021 Crosstrek and they we kind and considerate, and got the problem resolved immediately.
Unfortunately I did not have the same experience with the Service manager- Rob Bowen. Because I had not purchased my car there, and to date had not had any services done at this location, he was insensitive to my needs and the issue. He was definitely looking out for his bottom line without considering the Subaru reputation or his customer experience. I will not soon forget how he treated me over $40.

I made an appointment to have my servicing done as well as a few other repairs. I live in Kamloops, so due to having to work I dropped my car off the night before the repair. Unfortunately, I had mixed up my dates and dropped it off a week early. I didn't realize till the next morning when I actually looked at my calendar. I called the dealership and explained what had happened and they were nothing but helpeful amd amazing. They said they would fit it in for me so I could pick it up Saturday since I had come so far. Recently, I was traveling from Osoyoos to Calgary when my 2011 Outback had a catastrophic failure and lost pretty much all its oil within a kilometre. I limped into Hilltop Subaru on a Friday morning right before a long weekend. Carol in Service got my car seen right away by the head technician (even though they were fully booked) and helped me make a Plan B in case the car couldn't be immediately fixed. I was able to secure a rental car at Budget next door, even though they were super busy too.The problem was a blown cam seal, a part they had to order and would take a week to ten days to arrive. I explained I would be traveling back through Vernon the following Friday, although because of the long weekend, I didn't expect they would even have received the part by then. In fact, they called me on Friday, as I was traveling back and said the car was repaired and ready to go!! Not only did they complete the work in record time for me - someone who had never been there before - the timing was perfect as I didn't have to extend the rental car contract. And the repair bill as reasonable! It has renewed my faith that there are good people everywhere. I would absolutely recommend Hilltop Subaru to everyone!

Came back at 2 to be told they hadn't even got the car in yet, that it would be another 30 minutes to get it in and 30 minutes after that to do the oil change. WOW! This is the place to shop for your next vehicle. After reading online reviews, I decided to shop Hilltop for a vehicle. Best purchase experience ever at a car dealer. Made initial contact with Mike who patiently guided us through options on various models and financing possibilities. Being absent on the day we returned, Mike told us to meet with Darren. No one tried any pressure sales tactics. Two vehicles were brought up for us to test drive on a miserable snowy day, and we soon knew what we wanted. Throughout the purchase experience, every detail was thoroughly explained and, again, no pressure to tack on options or services we did not require. I have had a handful of negative experiences with the service department at this Subaru dealership. I purchased my vehicle elsewhere but once I moved to the area, I took it to Hilltop for all of the regular maintenance while it was on warranty. I live approx 45 mins away so this was bit of a hassle but I figured I should would be best for them to do the work.

Once while waiting the shop while it was in for an oil change, they "forgot" to let me know it was ready (they knew I was there). It wasn't until I asked out it was I told, "oh yeah, it was done like 30min ago".

Twice when I had scheduled service appointments, I showed up and I was not on their appointment list for the day. One appointment was booked online, the other over the phone as I didn't want to be "lost" again. Both times the employee was very rude and reluctant to get my Forester serviced that day.

I also received the run around when I needed to fill out the oil consumption study when it was using 1L of oil every 800-1500km. I wasn't until my father took my car (I'm a woman) in, with all of the proper documents showing the issue had been going on for a year, that they final said they would replace the short block under warranty. After that work was completed, I did not return to Hilltop until today.

Due to the airbag recall, I went back to get the recall work completed, but upon getting back into the vehicle and driving home, I noticed the heat was not working properly. Great. Now, I had to drive back to the dealer to get it fixed, as the tech obviously was in a rush to get the recall work done and missed something. I would recommend taking your vehicle elsewhere and I will not be back.

Must say it is nice to have service from a family orientated and owned business. Went to get a windshield chip fixed and the price was better than any glass place. The fix was done quickly, professionally, and the people of the dealership were very forthright, honest and dependable. You feel like you are family when you have work done there. Have been there a few times and always grateful for the comfort of how you are taken care of from the time you walk through the door. My friend drove from the coast to buy her vehicle at Hilltop and her exact words were "I Love that Dealership". I would agree. You can buy a vehicle anywhere. My wife called them re: service/warranty issue with his new Outback. First, they transferred her to sales...where a girl who sounded about 12 answered and tried to answer her service question. It was only about 10 minutes later of beating around the bush with ridiculous advice that the little girl admitted she was sales and not service. The little girl said she would leave the service department a message to call my wife back a.s.a.p. Service department didn't bother to ever call us back...We never received your call as promised, I'm guessing, because you don't want to do warranty work.

While waiting to hear back from Subaru Canada about the oil consumption enhanced warranty, we were called by a service representative at this dealership and we told, and I quote "my manager said that under no uncertain circumstances, if you do not remove your car from our lot we will put it on the street". There is also a recall for the airbags we are waiting for. Now, out of our own pocket, we have to move our Subaru with a dead engine so that they have one extra parking spot, and then will have to take it back again in a week or more to get the airbags changed because they are recalled and also to get the engine replaced. I feel like I'm being treated like trash.
