We came to Subaru North Vancouver having already purchased a less than 1 year old Outback at Richmond Subaru, and finding the mileage on that not being what we purchased. This was the the fault of the sales agent and has no reflection on the brand.

However, we were not happy with the buying purchase and Jack and Victoria's efforts at Subaru Northshore have made the purchase process an easy one and restored our faith. They answered our questions promptly and the price was more than fair.

When we came to pick up the vehicle Jack drove in on his day off to give the vehicle to us. Not asked, but an example of great customer service that we experienced thus far.

Even though we have other dealerships closer to our home we will make the journey to North Vancouver to get the car serviced.

Despite I am 99% sure that Freddy kind of ripped me off, I can't deny: the service and experience with Jim Pattison Subaru Northshore was pretty pleasant compare to many other dealerships that I contacted.

1. Freddy replied to my request pretty fast and arranged everything at the time that worked for me.
2. They provided me with all relevant information and there were willing to negotiate (many dealers said, that the price is firm and there is no room for negotiating whatsoever. After I left, they started following me up like crazy).
3. IMPORTANT: they always had the car I wanted to test-drive on the lot and they never lied about the car features. I was looking for the one with adaptive cruise control. So many dealers lied to me that their cars have it, so I had to travel to all the dealerships so they can try selling me other cars. I wasted about 2-3 hrs just because of that. With Jim Pattison Subaru Northshore, they were always honest and Jimmy messaged me when the car that I wanted landed and it was available for a test-drive right away.
4. They gave me trade-in evaluation within 15 mins.
5. They were not pushy or trying to sell other vehicle that is more beneficial for them. I said what I wanted, they gave me that.
6. The negotiation process was so-so though. Not sure if it was on purpose, but I felt like Freddy tried to cheat on one thing with providing me a wrong number for my monthly payments if I sell my car privately. He entered the sold price into his system and it was like I match my payments. He forgot to mention, that 12% tax won't be applied if I sell it on my own. Eventually, I asked for a bigger discount so we kind of met in the middle. That part was a little frustrating. Well, it's business.
7. Financial & delivery process was smooth as well

It seems to be simple, but not many dealership follow these steps. Thank you Jim Pattison Subaru Northshore.

Charlie (service department) is an excellent service adviser and will help you get work done right on your Subaru. I was told approx. 8-12 weeks by any other dealership for a warranty repair -- these guys got it done in 6 weeks.

I am 89 years old and recently have leased a new Subaru Crosstrek from Jim Pattison Subaru. The salesman Jack He was exceptional in all categories. He knew the car well, was able to answer all questions, was respectful, and very patient with my lack of knowledge of the modern safety features of the car. He answered phone calls promptly and kept me informed about the status of the car on it's way from the factory in Japan. It arrived almost 3 months after I ordered it.

Because he was to be away on the day I picked up the car Jack had made arrangements for me to meet with another excellent employee, Arthur (whose last name I don't recall). Arthur spent over an hour with me going over the car again and subsequently took me on a test drive. He advised me to make a list of questions after I had driven the car for a week or 2. I did so and 10 days later I presented Jack with my 22 item list of questions which he answered over the course of another hour.

I had never leased a car before and met Victoria the "lease lady" who was knowledgeable, respectful, charming, and very patient with my ignorance of the entire procedure. She explained all aspects of the leasing procedure very well.
In summary buying this car was the best auto purchase experience I have ever had. It was flawless event.

Never trust words from them, all they want is more money from you.

spend almost $900 for 60K services for my 2017 forester at north shore Subaru, also asked them to check my AC and suspension. an hour after I dropped the car off, they called and told me my rear brake pad only had 10% left and rotor is very rusted and asked me if I want to fix it, if I don't fix it they can't not check suspension for me and quoted for $500. I was thinking to get better pad and rotor, so I declaim the service. after the service was done, car was clean and AC works perfectly. I asked service lady how come my rear brake used so much quicker compare to front brake (65% left), she told me Subaru will apply rear brake for you if turn is too fast. that's a new thing to learn.

after I got home I start searching for rotor and pads to buy online and one afternoon I decide to check the rusted rotor myself, then i found out rear pad has over 50% life left and rotor was not machined as mentioned in the receipt. (rotor shows more rust due to I am hoping they can warranty a less then 3 year old rotor, so I have not driving them for 2 weeks, as my warranty runs out in 100 km)

I emailed service department, they replied sorry about miscommunication on the brake pad, and rusted rotor is not under warranty. ( I only replace rotor only once on a 17 years old Toyota since new, I am not sure why Subaru's rotor rusted so quick on a less than 3 year old car and drives in a place rarely see snow)

and as for invoice part, they say it should comment clean and replace brake fluid but not "machine" and replace brake fluid.

so I was lucky that I didn't ask them to replace the brake for me, else I will never find out the true fact, and I emailed service department couple times, basically they told me sorry it's they fault and they are not doing anything to makeup to you.

This was my first experience with Subaru cars and the dealership. I was refereed by my friend and found the team being very helpful at first. However, I felt pushed into some additional charges (for insurance) that "were strongly recommended by Subaru staff". Only when I cooled off enough to cancel them I realized that Subaru had a referral bonus for signing up clients for that. That did not make me feel comfortable. I just spent almost 30K and you convince me to sign up for a product t that i was not in favour of just because of $300??

And, btw, they offered me the least amount for the trade in than ANY other dealership in Lower Mainland

I had researched the car wanted for a year, and I concluded a Subaru Crosstrek would be the perfect car for my needs. A stylish midsize all wheel drive fuel efficient vehicle at the right price point.

My next challenge was finding a dealer to purchase the car from which proved to be a very difficult task untill my third attempt.

The people at Docksteader Subaru wouldn't even return my phone calls after two attempts. Strike one.

The folks at Richmond Subaru did set up a test drive with me, but the sales person I spoke with over the phone pawned off the test drive to a "Jr" or new sales person. He took me on a one block test drive and could not answer any of my questions about the cars Subaru offers. Strike two.

I hit a home run when I spoke with Freddy from Jim Patterson Subaru North Vancouver. I linked to him via a convenient internet chat room on thier web site. He was very courteous and respectful once we met, and he showed me the best car they had available for my needs. During the past decade I've purchased two Subarus from Specialty Motors in North Vancouver - a 2005 Outback and, more recently a 2014 Forester. I've found the experience to be 100 percent satisfactory. I was fortunate enough to be attended by the same salesman on both occasions because he is unusually well informed about this brand and very helpful. (Actually, I even picked up some excellent driving tips from him, too, on our test drives.) Likewise, I've found the Specialty service department to be reliable and very professional on the few occasions I've dealt with them. (These cars are so dependable, I've only need service support for regular warranty checkups.) I highly recommend Specialty Motors for anyone looking to purchase a quality vehicle. By the way, I note that another reviewer mentioned that the dealership's staff wanted him to rent a car for a test drive?? Perhaps the reviewer was referring to policy at Wolfe Subaru or one of the other dealerships in the lower mainland because that certainly was never my experience at Specialty.
