My experience with the Service Department has been first rate; my issue is with Nissan's quality of vehicle.

My Dad had a 1969 Datsun truck. Cute little vehicle, road like a lumber wagon and as most Datsun's of that vintage it rusted out very early; fenders, bumpers, doors, everything.
Well, the 2017 Nissan Murano is doing the same thing. I bought this brand new from the Dealership and shortly after buying it I noticed there were brown spots showing up on the fenders and doors. I scrubbed and tried everything but they wouldn't come out. I asked the Dealership how to remove these brown spots and they said it was rust but that it wouldn't be covered under warranty. The rust has now spread to the inside of the door panels. I had a 2006 Dodge truck and sold it in 2019, it looked like it came out of the showroom; no rust. The Murano has been in the garage since we bought it as well so it hasn't been sitting out in the elements.
So, I'm afraid my new Nissan is going to look like my Dad's 1969 Datsun in a few years.

MOONROOF EXPLODED WHILE DRIVING: DEALER UNWILLING TO HELP

We bought a brand new Nissan Rogue 8 months ago from Royal Oak Nissan. We were on vacation in Canmore and while we were driving on the highway, our moonroof completely shattered and covered us in glass. The explosion was extremely loud and traumatizing. Fortunately, we were able to keep the vehicle on the road, and we weren't cut much by the glass, but it could have been much worse. There was no traffic in front or behind us, so we know that the damage wasn't done by a rock or debris. When we approached Nissan, they said they were not willing to help us in covering the replacement under warranty or to help give us a discount on the repair cost.

After a quick google search, we found several cases very similar to ours, and some class action lawsuits are filed regarding it. Many of them were also in Nissan Rogues. This is clearly a flaw in manufacturing and Nissan is not willing to acknowledge it and help us come to a resolution. We have felt very overlooked and disregarded in this process. We believe that a situation this hazardous deserves to be acknowledged and amended. We could have rolled the vehicle and been critically injured. Unfortunately, we know others who have felt the same about similar situations with their moon-roofs shattering. All we wanted was to be heard and helped.

We bought the vehicle brand new and did not expect this kind of damage to happen. We also hoped to be acknowledged in our frustration, and aided to resolve this issue. Unfortunately, we were told that they would not help, and were then quoted for over $1,600 to repair the moon roof at our expense.

A STRONG word of caution for anyone looking to purchase a car from Royal Oak Nissan... This is the type of company you are buying a vehicle from. :(

A month ago, the driver of the service/parts shuttle hit our vehicle as she tried to make a make a right turn into the lane we were driving in.  She had a yield sign and we were already in the lane for many blocks. Long story short, the driver accepted FULL responsibility for the accident, apologized profusely, and we exchanged insurance information.  Yesterday, April 13, we found out through their insurance company that Royal Oak Nissan is no longer taking responsibility for the accident, instead claiming that we changed lanes into their driver, which is completely fabricated and untrue.

We get it, Royal Oak Nissan. An insurance claim will likely increase your insurance premiums, which probably comes at a time when the business of selling cars is slow.

BUT being DISHONEST after the fact, and sticking US with the cost of repairing the damage to our vehicle (in addition to the many other costs) is NOT RIGHT!

I hope it feels good to STICK it to an innocent driver who just happened to have the misfortune of driving on the same road as your service/parts shuttle... that is so SHADY. I hope you treat your customers with more dignity and honesty than you have treated us.  We can only say we are glad we are not one of your customers.

Worst service department. I decided today not to take shuttle back due to driver's stories about the bad roads. If you asked for shuttle then they will keep your vehicle to work on it at the end but when I decided to stay they should change that in the system. I could see my vehicle beside the glass door from 9:30 am till 12pm. No one touched it. Everyone else who came around 10:30am or 11am they got their vehicle back. I changed my mind for the shuttle but they didn't care to change that. Also I saw other cars got rinsed but I been told that our car wash broke down. We bought extended service plan but we always had to tell them to double check. Look like customer service at the service department didn't get proper training. They are always so rude. We were so happy with this location when we bought the vehicle but I hope they will have better staff for service department.

Recently purchased a new pathfinder for my wife and I. We had Dylan help us find the right vehicle and he was truly a pleasure to work with! Dylan was patient and not pushy at all. Took the time to go through the different options with us to help us get the best deal possible! Would highly recommend Dylan to anyone looking to purchase a vehicle.

Tyler, the finance manager was also extremely helpful in ensuring we had the best financing and warranty options available.

Where our experience fell short was on the delivery of the vehicle when we went to pick it up the following week. Aside from signing the paper work, in which we were in and out and had all our papers signed in 5 minutes, we had to wait an extra 45 minutes before our vehicle was actually ready. That dampened our excitement a bit.

We were then greeted by the delivery specialist, who advised us it was her first delivery on her own. Totally understandable we may come across some bumps along the way, but unfortunately overall it was not a pleasant experience.

The delivery process took over an hour, mostly because she was unable to demonstrate some of the most basic features and functions of the vehicle including how the climate control functions work. We had to actually help her figure out how some of the features actually worked. She was very apologetic but when all was said and done, we had to rely on trial and error to figure out how our vehicle worked.

What was meant to be an exciting moment quickly became anticlimactic after two whole hours of an unrefined delivery experience. As a result we were also late for another prior arrangement.

The service department fails to listen to requests and will tend to assume afterwards.

I don't like it when someone assumes I want one part changed when I replace another, especially when it's not necessary.

Their communication is basically non existent.

If you are going to assume they will send you a quote before the work is done you are lying to yourself.

E-mailed Royal Oak Nissan a week ago regarding a Nissan I had just purchased which originally came from the dealership. I was interested in finding out about the warranty remaining as well as getting a service appointment to take care of an outstanding recall. I received confirmation that my e-mail was received but, now a week later, never heard back from anyone at the dealership. In an age where everyone preaches that they are committed to outstanding customer service it is unfortunate when a company cannot even reply to an e-mail. If you are not willing to respond to online inquiries then you should not offer the service in the first place.

So i bought an 2009 nissan maxima from Brasso nissan last month, but because i live in the north west i decided to service the car for the 1st time in Roal Oak Nissan, here is my full experience, i ask the guy on the service counter what should the CVT fluid look like should it be red, coming from an 2004 maxima it was red , his answer YES, so i thought i will change it then, and i did flush it, after the flush i check it and it is almost transparent, so i called him and he told me oh sorry it is using NS2 fluid and it is not red, so the staff that are working there have no clue what are they doing, just throw any info at the client and the client should believe it, also i know from my old maxima spark plugs should last to 160,000 km but he told me no it is at a 100,000km, i said ok and i did replaced all 6 spark plugs, and then i flushed the coolant fluid, all this was done 3 items flush cvt fluid, flush coolant fluid, replace spark plugs for a hefty $1645.62, what really made me write this review, i decided to call nissan Brasson and asked for a quote price for the same exact work " flush cvt fluid, flush coolant fluid, replace spark plugs", they told me it will cost including GST $1100 HOLY MOLY almost $600 extra why, i need to know why, i did quot price after i talked to the service manager at royal oak as i used to have an old maxima when i was in nova scota and it was not that pricey to maintain, so quite honestly for these prices i will not go to royal oak nissan, i will stick with the Nissan Brasso as i bought the car from them and they have better prices and more experience and transparent .

Bought a Pathfinder from Sean McCollum in 2013. It was a great experience - honest, no pressure, and good price. My vehicle was recently stolen so I went right back to Royal Oak Nissan and to Sean to buy another Pathfinder. I wanted the same model and the same options and Sean made the whole buying experience quick and enjoyable while going above and beyond on price knowing that I was there due to a stolen vehicle. Also kudos to Kevin Bender in the finance department. Sean had made him aware of my situation so Kevin had already prepared all the paperwork and pricing options based on my previous year's purchase. Rather than spend an hour reviewing all the options, all I had to to was sign some papers.
By the way - I love the Pathfinder!

Awesome Experience! Ask for Abe as he was honest, personable and knowledgeable. We went to three other separate dealerships before going to this one and we were disgusted by how preyed upon we felt at those other dealerships. When we came to Royal Oak Nissan we felt relieved to not have been pounced on by agressive sales staff. We were given space and help was offered after we took a good walk around the showroom. Beyond this, we just really appreciated Abe's customer service.
