Dropped my car off to look at an issue for short drop on window that catches the trim because it doesn't drop when it is supposed to. Was told that this is normal operation. Other door doesn't do it. They say other like models do the same thing which is BS. I also left very easy to follow instructions to NOT WASH THE CAR as it has a full wrap and I don’t want their tech peeling any of the wrap. This was also stated on the repair order not to wash the car. Well, they washed it and lo and behold they peeled the wrap up on the spoiler. Now this is where it gets interesting. Not only did they do what they were told not to do, they tried to cut the section off that lifted and tried to hide the damage in hopes that I wouldn’t notice. It looks like it was cut off by a right handed person with dull left handed scissors. There are many small cuts in the paint as they worked their way through cutting the peeled section off. Very unprofessional outfit with no regard for customers car and extremely dishonest. Voiced my concerns but doubt the manager or Kaizen Auto Group cares or will call to rectify their staff damaging the vehicle.

Service department is a poor excuse for an operation.
Don't return phone calls, I've caught the technicians not performing the the services that they documented as having done so.
Used the wrong oil and non Motorcraft parts without specifying or informing me.

On the other hand, the parts department is deserving of 5 stars.
They are very knowledgeable, helpful and professional.
It's an absolute shame that the service department is dragging down the whole view of the company.

I sent an email to Mike Jones at Universal Ford Lincoln on Barlow, Calgary. (My Brother had just purchased a vehicle) In the email I stated what I was looking for in a used vehicle. I made an appointment to meet with him the next week. Mike had found this amazing Dodge Journey for me. It has EVERYTHING I was looking for in a used vehicle. I can now get everyone in the vehicle and the monsters happily watch videos (bonus feature in the vehicle). It drives fantastic, started happily in the cold last week, I keep learning cool features about it and I could not have asked for anything more excellent that was in my price range.

Was 4 stars when they had their loyalty program... Not the easiest to get to and from and there is no shuttle. They only offer one direction with a taxi. The loyalty card offered many things including car rental while your car is in the shop. This was great, especially when they needed to keep it over night or over the weekend (happened several times since we started getting all our servicing done here). The staff is great and the work we received has always been good but I think we have to look at something that is closer to home. and easier to get to. Still debating what to do.

I bought ford edge from this location two weeks ago. I was promised to get amazon gift card cuz of black Friday sale. It has been two weeks, I received nothing from universal ford. Whenever I call them or email them, they give same reply that your name is on the list of gift card receivers. Thing is how you can advertise if you don't have gift card in the real. Totally disappointed. People should double check their promotions before buying anything from this location.

This is my first negative review. Please bear with me, this is lengthy.
First of all, this is my 3rd leased vehicle from Universal and both the sales and finance departments have been a pleasure to work with, no complaints at all there.
It is the service department that I have my issues with. All 3 of my vehicles have had rail rust and/or surface rust and it's a huge inconvenience and frustration on my part to keep coming back to have it removed. The problem has never been fixed as the rust continues to grow back. My first 2 vehicles were white which made it very easy to see the rust. When discussing my 3rd vehicle I was actually told that I shouldn't get another white one, for this reason. To me, this says it might still be there but I just won't notice it! This 3rd vehicle isn't white and its been serviced already for surface rust.

The straw that broke the camels back was this last service appointment. My sunroof was cracked which I conclude was done while it was in for its service. This crack is aggressive, it zigzags from drivers side all the way across to the passengers side. I know it wasn't there the evening before I dropped it off for service because I was taking pictures through that panoramic sunroof, I would have noticed the crack! I didn't notice it either when I picked it up after the service because it was freshly washed with water pooling on top. I got in, drove it home and parked it in my garage. The next afternoon I backed out of my garage and immediately noticed the crack!
I took it back to Universal and after having it for 2 full days the Service Adviser told me that I was responsible for it because of the obvious chip. I agreed there is a chip but pointed out there was also white striped markings on each side of the sunroof that (to me) indicates impact was made. He dismissed it and said there was no "white markings". At this point I asked for the Service Manager's information. It was clear to me that this Adviser could not make these decisions so I wanted to deal directly with the Service Manager. He gave me his name and number and then hung up on me! Like I said, I've been a customer with Universal about 9 years, never have I caused a ripple of trouble. I've always just continued to bring in my vehicles to be serviced. In these 9 years though, I have learnt not to deal with this Service Adviser if I can help it. I find him rude and condescending.
The Service Manager called me back after my 2 attempts to reach him. He was not willing to cover the cost to replace my sunroof. He did offer to pay my deductible for my insurance but I don't have glass coverage. I wanted to discuss it further but my calls have not been returned. I've since picked up my vehicle and will have it repaired someplace else. Universal quoted me almost $1500 where I can get it done for just over $900.
Coincidentally, when I picked up my vehicle it was freshly washed again and waiting for me in the service bay. I went to inspect the sunroof on both sides and was confused because I couldn't see the crack, even after moving some of the excess water around. When I asked if it was repaired without my consent Ryan (respectfully) showed me that the crack was still there. I mention this only because it proves how difficult it is to notice the crack initially, with it being freshly washed, not to mention that the sunroof is tinted.

I agree I can not conclusively prove that this didn't happen on my watch but Universal isn't able to prove it didn't happen on theirs either. Logically, it's not likely this crack happened sometime between picking it up after service and noticing it the next day and Universal knows this. My disappointment is how Universal "brushed me off" and how I was "handled" by both the Service Adviser and the Service Manager.
My intention now is to live out the remainder of my lease, return this vehicle and end my relationship with Universal. I would not recommend the service department at Universal. (Sorry Ryan, you were great.)

This will be a long review. I was told by several people not to go to this branch, but I figured I would give them a try anyway. I guess the actual service on my car was quite good, but this branch really needs to work on their communication skills.

I took my car in for a recall on Thursday at 7 am, and fair enough I was given a notice that I might have to leave my car overnight if needed. My service adviser said he will give me updates on the results of the diagnostics and whether I would actually have to leave my car with them or not. I did not hear back from them for 5 hours, I called and was told they were still working on my car and they will know better "shortly". I waited but still no update from anyone. 2 hours later at 2 pm I called again, and was told I will have to leave my car with them. I wished they would have taken the initiative to give me updates so I would have better planned my commute for that day.

I still did not hear anything from them the next morning, so I called and called and called and eventually I had to get my boyfriend to call the admin to be transferred to service to find out the status of my car which was ready for pick up. (Admin was extremely helpful and friendly so I'll give them that). So I picked my car up and on the paper it says they were done working on my car at 3.49pm on Thursday and that they "promised" me 4 pm. That was not true at all as I have evidence of the text message from my service adviser saying that my car will only be done the next day.

I just think more training should be given to some of the employees as it really reflects bad on the management. They should really take pride in what they do. There are other good reviews from other customers about this branch, so I guess it really depends on your luck. Maybe I just had a bad luck that day. So if you decide to take your car in to this branch, all I can say is good luck.

Firstly, I am responding to your satisfaction survey to advise that I am confused why I received this notice because I did not have my vehicle serviced recently. In fact, I sold my Lincoln vehicle. I tried to have it serviced on August 1, however, my vehicle sat at Universal Ford from 9 when I dropped it off until 4 pm when I arrived to pick it up without being touched! I made 2 attempts to call prior to arriving. I was promised my vehicle would be ready by 3 “no problem.” I had also engaged in a discussion with a sales associate Mr. Blough regarding getting a new vehicle. All my experiences were outlined in a satisfaction survey that I completed on August 1. A request for more information email was prepared by me. No one followed up with me any further. No one from universal ford followed up with me either despite being assured the service manager would call to discuss a resolution to my service fiasco. Too bad we had to look elsewhere for a vehicle. I loved my Lincoln and was fully prepared to purchase another one but if I can’t rely on service, I am forced to chose otherwise.

If I could give zero (or even negative stars) I would. Very poor service. I have only had it for about 5 months and I am very unhappy with the quality of the service as well as the lack of diligence in inspecting my vehicle. I received the car with a mouse’s nest in the air filter. It wasn’t noticed until after I went for an oil change with them (universal Ford did not see the nest) and then less than a month later took it into Mr. Lube where they noticed it. On top of that my oil is constantly running low. When I went to get it serviced they said there was nothing wrong with it. It it very disappointing when you cannot trust your dealership. I WOULD NOT recommend getting a car from Universal Ford from anyone looking for a reliable vehicle and even satisfactory service.

At first the staff at Universal seemed to be very helpful and attentive. However first impressions maybe deceiving. I had an issue with the rear window defrost grid being faulty. I felt on a ten day old car that the window should be replaced. They said that they would have to contact Lincoln Canada to get the approval. I was informed that I would be contacted in the next one to two days. I let the staff know that I would be out of the country for ten days and to leave a message on my cell phone. That was Tuesday July 23rd. It is now Thursday September 12th and I still have had no contact from Universal. Is there no check and balance system in place to follow up? I maybe should have followed up myself but I was told I would be contacted? First experience is disheartening at this point.

At the end of the day, the service I did receive was quite good. However, I booked my vehicle in on a Monday morning for service, expecting it would be completed that day. No one advised me when I dropped it off that they might not be able to get to it that day. Instead, I received a phone call after 3 pm advising me that they would not be able to get it done that day. Thankfully, I didn't need my car that evening. At about the same time on Tuesday I received a call advising they hadn't been able to fit my car in that day either but hoped to be able to get it the next day. They did offer to provide me a rental but I would have had to go to the dealership to get it and couldn't fit that I to my day before 6 pm. They did finish it on the Wednesday and made sure to check with me before completing additional brake repairs. I appreciate that sometimes there are delays but a warning in advance that there could be a delay would have gone a long way toward helping me plan better for the situation. The work they did was great and they washed my car before returning it, which was really nice.

Fast, Friendly, and they always follow through. I have bought 2 vehicles through universal. Most recently was a new F150 and the process was simply perfect. The truck even came in early. Part of the process was completed from out of town and they dealership handled everything no problem. Previously I bought a used Flex; again everything was smooth and I was always treated great by everyone involved. They definitely stand behind their sales. I had a couple small problems with the flex when I was out of town (it was recently purchased but off warranty) and they had me take it to the closest dealership and they paid for the work the other dealership did. Universal is a true class A dealership I would definitely do business with them again.

I brought my 2018 Ford Edge Sport in at 8am and it was finished by 9:20am. That’s amazing fast service! My only issue is as much as I appreciate having my vehicle washed it looked like it was just literally sprayed with water. It had water spots all over it. It would be nice to have a nicely washed car leaving with a little more attention paid to the cleaning of it. Other than that one thing I really appreciate being able to have my vehicle back quickly able to continue on with my day. Thank you!

Bought my truck there about a year ago. Sales staff was great to deal with and didn’t try up selling me something I didn’t want. The finance dept was pretty good to deal with also but did try selling the usual add on stuff that all dealerships seem to do. Having the truck for about a year now and 30,000km the truck has had a few recalls but the service dept is always great to deal with and has it done in a timely manner, and the truck is always washed when I get it back. Would definitely recommend Universal Ford to my friends and family.

6 stars sales staff. I contacted Neal Bard through the online sales tools asking for some information. Neal was quick to respond, and helpful in all ways possible. He and I spoke nearly for 3 weeks about used and new vehicles. We came to an agreement for a demo model late in the game. Even though I didn't ultimately purchase from universal I felt ZERO pressure, I felt that there were no 'sales tricks' or that any one was taking advantage of me, furthermore the deal we came to I felt was excellent. I enjoyed this experience very much, and should I need a Ford, Universal, Neal and the rest of the sales staff I dealt with are a definite first. Neal Bard is first class salesman from tip to toe. I am always extremely happy with my 2016 F150 I bought here in 2016 as well as I came in the other morning to drop it off for a routine service and after a few years of the service at this location I can honestly say this has been one of the best high quality vehicles I have ever owned and only the best dealership I have ever been to. The environment here was totally pressure-free, and I actually felt relaxed communicating with the staff. I also appreciated the transparency regarding the history of the vehicle I was buying. Everyone here also seemed very organized, and the process of buying was much faster and more efficient than I've seen at other dealers. This was absolutely the most painless experience I've had purchasing a vehicle, and I'm grateful for the additional follow-up after my purchase to make sure I wasn't having any issues.

I can't speak on the service department here, but I feel like I got a fair deal on my vehicle, and I wouldn't hesitate to recommend Universal Ford Lincoln to anyone looking to purchase.

Took my 94 Ford taurus into service on August 8 2014 because i heard a noise, they called me to let me know that they had heard it too and told me which parts it needed,but they didn't have them, so they had to phone around.They finally found the parts but would have to keep it all weekend and then quoted me the price. Mondays comes the car is ready and i go down and pick it up and find out its cheaper than the first quote.Awesome ,i will deffinatly be taking my car there from now on . My father-in-law was expecting a $700 bill for services when he took his Explorer in to the "Ford Dealership in Cochrane". When he went to pick it up 3 hours later he was billed $1500. He should have been called and told that there was "extra" work needed. And he should have been given the choice to say "no". He's a pensioner and that's too much to ask above and beyond what he was quoted.

On the other hand, I've been a customer at ULF for over 12 years and they understand service. I know in this situation that they would call me before going ahead with work above and beyond what's quoted. They sell service first. They understand customer needs. Keep up the great work.
