Worst car dealership, with even worst management ! Be careful women, they think we're all stupid and have no idea how cars work. I was told by their service department that my 70, 000 KM motor was done/dead, and needed a NEW motor for $15K or USED for $7K. Got 3 other estimate/opinion from CAA certified garage, and the final result of these 3 other garages that have inspected my motor was that my motor was in mint condition. This is worse than bad service, this is FRAUD!!! This is just one incident with my Genesis, my car went in for service more than 30 times, yes 30 times!!! This is how they treat their long time customer. If you still want to buy or lease a Hyundai, do yourself a favor and go to another Hyundai dealer.

I took my vehicle in to have the tires changed from winter to summer. While I was there I also thought that it might be a good idea to have the vehicle detailed. Unfortunately, it came out looking like nobody touched the trunk, console, or even below the steering wheel.

The called on April 16, I had the work done on the 20th, and when I was placed on hold for at least 10 minutes I gave up.

Please see the attached pictures and you be the judge. Hull Hyundai.......I would have rather spent my hard earned money elsewhere.

“BUY BEFORE YOU TRY”., Exclusively at Hull Hyundai.

This place is absolute garbage. I went to see a USED car and was told I could test drive it before heading over. Once I get there, the salesperson brings the key and tells me I can’t drive the car, but I can start it and picture what it’s like to drive. Yes, just pretend you’re driving it.

The only option to test the USED car before purchasing it was to negotiate the price first and then place a deposit. Buy before you try. The salesperson would run in and out and state that the “sales manager” would not allow a test drive without negotiating the price and a deposit. The stated, “we don’t want to add miles to it.”

I was then assured that the manager had been driving this car for a week when it was traded in and there is nothing wrong with it.

Yes. The sales manager can rack up the km for FUN, but we can go to hell for asking to test it before buying it.

Read the other reviews and see for yourself just how sleazy these people are. Then look how little they care. All the answers are a generic copy and pasted message.

I am never buying a Hyundai ever again. The hidden fees and other make it feel like a scam. This is my 6th year with my car and had different occasions where I had to deal with them. Today I had to call. I have the extended warranty. I have a check engine light now and I have to be billed for them to verify. 2 years ago I had an issue with snow inside my motor air filter and was had to pay for the fix. They said the car was a summer car as the excuse... Last point they told me at the beginning that it was at 0% interest meanwhile after viewing the loan with the financial institution it had interest in it. I was young when I bought the car and I was fooled . I do not recommend Hyundai. Never again.

Honestly I’m very disappointed, not only are there hidden fees on their vehicle pricing but they also do false advertising with their photos. Their photos have a filter on them so the car in person won’t be the same as the one in the photo online, the photos make the cars look like they have tint but they don’t and the colour is different in person. Just a warning to those looking to buy. When trying to figure out if cars have certain features instead of checking for the answer they just reply with “I don’t know”. We had an agreement to do the car for a certain price and for it to be ready for pickup at a certain time, both the deal and the appointment were broken. Even when we spoke to the Sales Manager about making up for some of these issues the most he could do is take $10 off, like what kind of business are you running? When I asked for the Managers business card they said they won’t give it to me because they don’t want me to write a 1 star review and post his name in it.

In conclusion I do not recommend buying here unless you want to met with nonprofessional and untrustworthy individuals.

I agree with other reviewers, this dealership is vague about everything and don’t tell you the full story until it`s too late or the contract’s done.
They played a game with me and didn’t give me a clear answer when I was asking questions. I dealt with 3 different people and all 3 had different stories. They weren’t transparent at all. They tried to blame some of theirs mistakes on me even though I wasn’t alone in the process, so I had proof they’ve lied to me. They have a confused and disorganised approach which doesn’t make me feel confident in and I lost all trust in them. The sales and finances directors lied several times. They tried to cover and didn’t assume any of the mistakes that cost me money, time and energy after the fact. Which was supposed to be fast and easy to repair wasn’t at all and still not over...
I’m never going back even for an oil change. (Which by the way, was put on the contract even if I told them no...) They didn’t listen when I told them I didn’t want any additional warranty or insurances. When it came to sign the contract (which was just a formality because of the pandemic situation everything was already done) they had put it in anyway in the contract.

I was amazed how quickly he achieved my requests for special features wanted for the " Kona Ultimate " and how they will be looking after the maintenance and oil changes for years to come !
The rest of the staff and management treated me like a KING !
If I could give them " 10 Starz " I would ! In spite of the covid -19 restrictions the vehicle was SUPER CLEAN and MINT condition !

A Tuscan 2020 was purchased on December 9 2020, the delivery “coordinator” was vague, rude and negligent. Was so rushed to get a signature that didn’t care about the bad customer service. This is awful, I am surprised this dealer still open for business. Even the guy from financies focused on “rebate” rather than fully explaining how things work. They just wanted again my signature and out of here. No extra perks for an expensive car, nothing but awful customer service. Never going back not even for an oil change. We even felt treated different because we didn’t speak French.

We had to chase after our buyer to obtain a date to come pick up our car. He wouldn't return our calls or messages.
To make matters worse, TWO DAYS after picking up the car that was supposedly inspected, the battery flat out dies on us. How can a car that was supposedly worked on two days ago break down within the 2nd day of ownership?!

I would like to express my satisfaction from the service provided from a stand out employee. My husband and I arrived on your lot by mistake as we were wanting to go to a different dealership and arrived at yours. As we were browsing your used car inventory, Maxim Meunier approached us inquiring if we needed help with anything. We told him exactly what we were looking for and that's EXACTLY what he showed us. There is nothing more frustrating when you tell a salesperson what you want for a vehicle and he/she shows you everything and anything just to make a sale. My husband informed me that Maxim answered most questions on the spot and as for questions he was not sure about, he did inform himself and then passed on the information to us. When Maxim invited us into the office to discuss numbers, he made it simple and easy to understand. While discussing, my husband received a phone call from his mother and as they were speaking, his mother told him that that was were she bought her used vehicle and that that's the same sale representative that sold her her car. Evidently he was just as professional, courteous and helpful with that sale as with this one. Again, I would like to acknowledge that Maxim Meunier is an excellent employee and should be recognized by his superiors to be used as a model for other employees. We recently bought a 2020 Ioniq from Hull Hyundai. We were clear with what we were looking for in terms of extra features and conveniences and asked for the car in blue. After a few days we were told that there were no blue Ioniqs available but that the white with tinted windows was nice. We agreed to the white with tint and asked them for winter tires to compensate for not getting the exact car that we wanted. They said no problem but never showed us the price breakdown until the day we were to pick up the car and AFTER we had already handed them the keys to our old car. So we ended up with the wrong colour, no tint on the windows and paying for the winter tires we thought would be free. They played a game of shells with us and were not transparent in the beginning about exactly what we would get and what we were paying for. Further, we could not get clear confirmation that we would get the promised 3 years of free service. We finally had to speak with management to have this. Days after speaking to the manager we received a letter outlining how much we would pay for service? When we called to find out why we would be paying for service when we were assured that if was free for 3 years it was explained that it was a standard letter. This confused and disorganized approach does not make me feel confident in any future service we will receive.

I purchased my car in July 2019 , the sales team were wonderful . However I've not had the same experience with the service dept . When I picked up my car last year I didn't notice the two rear seatbelts were damaged as I never sat in the back during the test drive. In Jan I had time to bring the car in and had one of the service advisors come out and look at them and he said he would order them and call when they were in . It's now 2 months later and I hadn't heard anything so I called and after being transferred 3 times finally spoke with the parts dept was told there was no record of anything and wanted to again pass me off to the advisors voicemail. I've in the past as well been out on hold forever when I tried to book an appointment for service and endedp not booking one because the appointment would have been 2 weeks later. Needless to say my patience has run out with your service and will be looking elsewhere for service in the future. Update...walked in to Myers Hyundai and had the parts ordered , a repair order written and a service appointment for Friday , all within 10 minutes .... Maybe there's and example to be seen!

Terrible staff in the garage. My one year old car had a recall for the hatch door, they replaced it, left the old glass on my back seat and forgot to plug in the wires for the defrost. Had to go back of course. Then door to the gas tank did not open, again I went and apparently they fixed it. Today at gas station and the door does not open. I was starting to show some frustration to the lack of responsibility but they could not care less. Now going to another dealer!

We had an appointment for a scheduled oil change, after going through their check in process with a service councillor a 40 minute affair, I was asked to leave the car for the day! For and oil change, when I asked them what the use was to schedule an appointment, I was told that the appointment was with the service councillor and that the work was a separate event. Needless to say that I left and did what I should have done in the first place... I went to Mr lube, great service, 25 minutes in and out.

Bought my first Hyundai back in 2002 from a Quebec city dealership and soon had to move to Kingston. Worst experience ever; 2 formal complaints with Hyundai Canada against the garage and the owner. Hyundai Canada directed me to Hull Hyundai, "most efficient" Hyundai closest to Kingston at the time they said. That has been the BEST move a company has ever made for a customer. I have now purchased my third Hyundai and my second with Hull Hyundai and I will recommend the dealership to any of my friends who are thinking of purchasing a Hyundai and even tell them who to speak with to be on the winnning side of a transaction. You feel pressure, just walk away and come back when you are calmer; that is the mentality of my sales representative. I feel safe, my car has always been taken care of and they know my very specific requests when it comes to my safety and the safety of my family. 5 stars is what I give and 5 star is what Hull Hyundai deserve.

Overall bad buying experience. My first visit was good; I was greeted promptly and offered a test drive. Once it came time to go through the buying process it got BAD. For one, If you meet someone by the name of Jean Richard, walk away or ask to speak to someone else. He was very condescending and arrogant and after I realized so many people on reviews had a bad experience with him, its obvious that Hyundai Hull doesn't do anything about these complaints since he’s still doing what others have complained about today. On another attempt with another Manager, I asked 4 times to negotiate the full price of the car instead of the payments but he refused my request and kept to his obvious up-selling techniques. Once I finally accepted an offer, I was pushed into an office for 30 minutes where they did their best to make me spend more on their warranty options. It took multiple times for me to say I’m not interested before they gave up. Buyers beware, if you have a hard time negotiating or sticking to your budget, they will use all the tricks to up-sell you your car. This experience made me realize how getting rid of dealerships as middle-men is a great idea and I only hope my next car can be done online, directly through the manufacturer. Goodbye Hyundai HULL, I will never recommend you.

Showed there very serious to buy a new car and met a sales man, that gave me great service. Tried the car, everything went well until it came time to negotiate the price. First, they jacked up their prices, which is normal. But then, after a lot of negotiation, the sales rep brought his sales director, and we had agreed on a great deal. Obviously, I suggested that I’d take an hour or two to talk it through with my family, but the sales director kept adding pressure, saying that the deal wouldn’t be good tomorrow and that he couldn’t print the sale offer claiming that I would get a better deal if I shopped around, which he didn’t want. Anyway, I talked it through with my family and agreed to meet the sales rep two hours later to sign. Once I arrived, I met Jean Richard, the director of used vehicle sales, and he had completely changed the numbers. When we tried telling him that we had a deal with the director of sales, he became condescending, cold and rude, and simply said ‘it can’t be changed. It’s like that’ even when his own sales rep agreed with us.. anyway, after a day, the director general of sales contacted me, and after a few hours, agreed to give me a similar deal. Point of the story, don’t ever go there: they don’t respect their promises and don’t honour their deals. Go to Gatineau Hyundai or Buckingham Hyundai instead. Most of their sales rep left to go there anyway

They are only getting 1 star because Google won't allow for zero. I have purchased a used car here and have nothing but problems, starting from them forgetting to do the inspection before handing over to me resulting in the need for 3 service calls. My favorite was that the key fob they gave me was dead, so on my first drive with it, I was left abandoned in a parking lot because I could not get into the car. Here I am again with another major problem and they can't service me for days and refuse to give a loaner car. I will never do business with these people again, service problems happen but the absolute lack of apology or diligence to correct their issues is appalling.

A bad experience is an understatement. From beginning to end the process of buying our vehicle at Hull Hyundai was terrible. From communication to service and general organization the team at Hull Hyundai was brutal. I will not list all the things that occurred with us at this dealership because frankly there isn't enough time in a day. I highly suggest buying your vehicle somewhere else. Forced a $2000 used car warranty, or I was not "allowed" to buy, only after seeing I was approved for the added costly garbage third party service.
Edit -

We were approved for the loan of the vehicle at the price we agreed upon and when we came in at signing - they added this warranty and reapplied and got approval for the higher amount. They then insisted we had no choice or to walk away, saying we would take a hit on our credit rating if we went somewhere else.

found out the $2000 (on a $5000 car, or 40% increase of the sale) was only good for 25,000 KM. I spoke to the current manager and there was nothing she could do as the vehicle just passed the mileage limit. Buyer Beware!!!

After the response from the owner - I spoke to the new Sales Manager. She said she can not look at files older than 6 months - I shared with her I had emails backing up my claims. Her response - "I am not sure what to tell you - it has been too long." I asked that the owner reach out to me. I await and will post if I ever do.

This a very clean dealership. Hyundai employees can assist and guide you in French and english. People are friendly, I did not feel any of the car sales pressures associated with dealing with a, er, dealership. The presentation room has a wide variety of models offered that you can try. They also have a waiting area, free WiFi and free coffee. Of note, I didn't buy a car, or had to deal with the parts and services departments like some previous reviewers. I did read the good, and bad and can't comment on waiting times, and specific dealings with mentioned individuals. The lady (Valerie?) at the reception was engaging and positive, even if she 'knew nothing about cars', as she put it ;). Cheers

Took it for service twice since then.
1st time was not reliable, honest or good. Not fixed. A month later they fixed everything but, I had a 2nd mechanic opinion 'note' that time so i was finally taken seriously.
