Another day goes by where I have not received a referral bonus of $100 which was promised to me back in August 2020. I have been given every excuse in the book as to why it has taken THIS long (nearly 8 months) to process. Jacob sold me the vehicle, and I have had absolutely no issues with him, and this situation is out of his hands, however I am clearly not being taken seriously as a female customer. I have every conversation saved with date stamps proving how long I have been waiting for a mere $100. First I was told that it was a "scam" being run by a previous employee who was let go, so I am now unable to receive the originally discussed $100 in cash, and was offered either a pre-paid visa gift card, or $100 in services at the dealership. For months after agreeing to the visa gift card, I have heard NOTHING from the new owner. I am SICK AND TIRED of not being taken seriously, and have plenty of other experiences at this specific dealership that could be shared. This is my second vehicle purchased at this location, and have obviously learned my lesson and need to bring a more experienced man with me while dealing with cars as I am being completely disregarded. I have not given up and will take further action to have this 'scam' investigated. You have my information, and I am awaiting your call.

Despite living in the Ottawa area I opted to deal with Peterborough Hyundai because of Jordan who is one of their sales staff. 6 months prior I was hoping to buy a 2020 model Kona, but Jordan was unable to find any remaining vehicles in our model choice. Even though we were unsuccessful in buying a vehicle at that time, the experience was great. Jordan skipped the usual games that I experienced with other dealers, and for the first time I came away from my car buying experience not feeling like I needed a shower. Decided to give it another try in 2021 and I was not disappointed by Jordan and Hernan (manager). They offered to match an offer I got in Ottawa (needed to do comparatives), swapped out the winter tires for me, and then they delivered the vehicle to my house in the Ottawa area. Turns out they also own the Subaru dealership in Peterborough and my wife and I decided to upgrade our Subaru as well. They beat the Subaru offer on the QC side, swapped our winter ties in, and once again delivered the vehicle. Delivery guys were awesome. Pleasure to deal with and they were excited to talk about the features of our new cars in the driveway. If I had only one complaint it would be that the process for doing all the document signing online has not caught up yet to the other industries such as banking. No digital signatures and long contracts with confusing numbers. In that regard there was a fair bit of back and forth to make sure that we had everything right in the documents. Hope they continue to refine this model of business going forward because it is much easier and better than the pressure experienced in a dealership. For the first time in my life I can honestly say that I enjoyed buying a car! Thanks team!

I went in to Peterborough Hyundai on Monday and saw Jordan. He was extremely pleasant and friendly. I told him I was interested in the Kona and he went through all of my options thoroughly. I told him I was an impatient person and if I’m going to buy a car - I’m not interested in waiting a long time. There was a beautiful white Kona in the parking lot and I fell in love. I decided it was the one I wanted to go with. Jordan was so helpful and everything happened smoothly and quickly. We had a small blip with the insurance company but Jordan even helped us solve this problem which was probably outside of what he normally does - he truly goes above and beyond to make sure it is a great experience. On Friday of the same week, we went and saw Kevin who was in charge of all the paperwork/financing. He was an absolute pleasure to work with. Both Jordan and Kevin made this experience SO fun and exciting. There was no pressure and I drove off the lot Friday in my brand new Hyundai Kona - I am in love with the car! I will continue going to see them for any future purchase and would recommend them to anyone :)

Back in April walked in looking for a used car and walked out with a brand new Santa Fe. Gabe and Jacob were super helpful, and got me into an affordable option and Gabe went the extra mile to make sure I got what I wanted. I didn't feel pushed into anything, overall a great experience.
However, trying to get a call returned 6 months later is like pulling teeth. I have called, emailed, and went through their online chat, and have yet to hear back for over a week now.

Today, August 18, 2020. I had a scheduled 10am appointment for brakes and other service. I made this appointment a week ago.

When I arrived and checked in, I had asked for a loaner car, or a shuttle service to get me home while I waited for the work to be done, I was told that they had no loaner vehicles at this time or shuttle service.

Feeling a little confused as to why this was not mentioned when I booked the appointment a week ago. The person on the phone knew I was getting significant work done. I said I guess I have no option other then to wait at the dealer, as I had no one at the time to pick me up.

I sat waiting in the waiting area for an hour without an update, so I decided to go for a walk. My car was sitting in the same spot I parked it. I went and asked how things were going. It was now 11am and my appointment was scheduled for 10am. They hadn’t even touched my car yet.

Getting anxious as I knew it was going to be a while to complete the work it was in for, I asked if there was any way they could arrange transportation for me to get to a friends house that was close to work so I wasn’t stuck. Thankfully the guy at the counter offered to give me a ride in his own personal vehicle. (Thank you to him I made it).

I received a call at 3pm saying my car was finished. But when I asked for a pick up, they refused.

Thankfully I did manage to arrange a ride to get my car after calling around. But I feel that this is such poor customer service to leave someone stranded like that. This could have been avoided!! Or they could have done more to help me!

Peterborough Hyundai you need to treat your customers better, and be human kind.

Staff is friendly, and the showroom is clean, though a bit small for the number of vehicles they have parked inside.

It was quiet - no music or anything, so it was a bit awkward and not incredibly welcoming.

We had to go inside and ask someone for assistance (no one came out to greet us or ask if we needed anything), but once we connected with a sales person, our experience was pretty decent.

Gets an "OK" rating because it was pretty good, but not excellent - a very average experience. Would have liked a bit more initiative on the sales person's side of things.

Would recommend the location, though, just given that one caveat. 👍

I had problems with my 2015 Hyundai, first took to Don Valley North dealerships at Woodbine Ave., customer service were trouble, never reply back to my email or return my calls, finally I went to their office and they were unprofessional and telling me will take 4 months to fix it. I told them I will take my car to Peterborough Hyundai, at Peterborough immediately did diagnostics submit all paper for warranty company at same day, got approval and starts fixing it, all done with 2 weeks span. Not transparent about their prices. Totally do not come off as being trustworthy. They posted a car as two different sale prices on different sites. When my partner called, they confirmed it was the lower price. I later emailed another salesperson to inquire further and was told the lower price was a web issue and it was actually the higher price. Over the period of a few days, probably because I didn't respond, they sent me repeated emails saying the price had been lower until finally it had been lowered to the price that was initially confirmed over the phone even though it was supposed to be a web issue? I called the sales consultant, Lynn, the same person who told me it had been lowered and again she didn't seem to know what the actual price was. Said she would call me back after talking to her manager and that she'd leave me a voicemail. Except when she did, all she said in her voicemail to me was that it was still available. Really? I just spoke to you 20 mins ago, of course I know it's still available. Seems they are just trying to play a game with me. Please do not bother me with any more of your emails, I do not want your business nor do I appreciate this back and forth business about the prices changing day by day. Get your story straight. Know your products. And at least be honest about your prices.

Nothing nice to say about this dealership...

My fiance purchased a used 2011 sonata. The salesman promised to have it cleaned and have a broken heated seat switch we noticed fixed. Upon arrival to pick up the car we noticed the switch was not fixed and crayon and garbage still in the center console. The salesman promised again to set something up with a dealership closer to our home to have the switch fixed which never happened on his part. We ended up constantly having to contact him to try and get it taken care of and still didn't manage to get it taken care of.

Worst part of the purchase wasn't the garbage or broken switch but the fact after 5 months of having this car, the engine went while my fiance was on the 407. After dealing with customer relations time and time again, we were informed that this dealership received the recall notice November 11th 2015 and we purchased the car November 28th. They refused to mention this information and sold us a faulty car and put my fiance's life at risk.

Go to Bowmanville Hyundai if you want a good experience as the service lady Kim was the only positive experience we've had with Hyundai as she went above and beyond to try and help us. Ended up getting the heated seat fixed in Bowmanville and new engine installed in Bowmanville.

Now we are dealing with Hyundai head office to try and get a $400 tow reimbursed which has been nothing but an issues. We did get a new engine installed, but this whole situation has been nothing but a big headache which you shouldn't have after 5 months of purchasing a car from a dealership. We will never buy a Hyundai again because of this dealership, but for those who do, avoid this dealership and try Bowmanville as they went above and beyond to help us even though we didn't purchase the car from them.

Very suspicious of the recent burst of comments (3 of them "one week ago") from anonymous "Google User" accounts - each of which have posted a single comment of any business or anything anywhere on the Google network, and that comment happens to be about Peterborough Hyundai. *Update: Within a couple of hours of this post the previously anon commenter accounts had names added to them. Prior to this burst of commenting Peterborough Hyundai's rating was notably lower, and the previous negative comments are now pushed much further down the list. While not definitive of gaming the system, as it were, this sort of activity is frequently seen when either employees of a company try to boost the corporate ranking/review, for various reasons (including to counter negative rankings/reviews), or a company contracts to a shady "SEO" (search engine optimization) company, public relations or branding "expert," or similar individuals and agencies that post fake ratings/reviews, again often as a public relations response to negative comments.

I am so far - a month of ownership - very pleased with Hyundai as a car/brand/manufacturer. However, my satisfaction in no way extends to the local dealership. As I have pointed out to family and friends, if the local dealership actually had to SELL me a car, I would not have bought there. As it was, I had pretty much already decided on Hyundai and the specific vehicle (based on the manufacturer's website, available rebates, Car & Driver and other reviews) and going to a dealership was for little more than to complete the paperwork to obtain the car.

Likewise, if it had been up to the salesperson to SELL me on options or upgrades, I would never have bought them; and those are easy extra money (often over-priced) for the dealership, manufacturer, and presumably the salesperson who receives commission. I was told that the car did not come in the colour I wanted; but when I said that it DID according to the manufacturer's website the salesperson then went looking for, and found, a manual which CONFIRMED that the car did indeed come in the colour I wanted. I had to ensure that the options and upgrades that I wanted were added on during the hasty sales process, and was told that a spoiler is NOT an option for the car I was buying. Again I explained that according to the manufacturer's website it WAS an option. And, again, the salesperson went looking for a relevant manual, which confirmed that indeed a spoiler IS an option ... and I ordered it (at a cost of $550 ... an easy "sale" and some profit for the dealership). I picked up the car nearly a month ago and was told the spoiler wasn't yet available as it had to be custom ordered ... today I phoned to ask what has happened with the spoiler and was told that it has been sitting there "for about a week" and that the parts department "does not call" customers when parts arrive. Apparently, the parts department alerts the salesperson who in turn is then responsible for calling their customer and, presumably, making an appointment for them to return to have the part installed. That didn't happen in our case - no one has contacted us (and the dealership has TWO phone numbers and TWO email addresses at which we can be reached). I have a feeling that if the salesperson had called, it would have then been necessary for him to transfer me - or me to make a separate call to another individual/department to book the install appointment. This should all be automated, in 2016, with the customer receiving an automatically generated email or call when an ordered part arrives in stock; likewise the install scheduling should be automated.

I WOULD buy another Hyundai ... but I would NOT buy it at Peterborough Hyundai. In fact, I was previously warned off Peterborough Hyundai by my regular mechanic & by someone who I stopped in a mall parking lot as she was driving an Elantra & I wanted to know what she thought about it - among other things she viewed and test drove it at Peterborough, but BOUGHT it at the dealership in Port Hope.

I just want to thank Dan Burke and the team at Peterborough Hyundai for spending the time to help me with finding the right car for me; my knee's have made it hard for me getting in and out of cars and you took the time to show the Tucson and Santa Fe. After driving a couple of different models and looking at the lease and finance options you made it easy to decide what was right for me and you were not pushy like some of the sales people at the other places I'd been to.

So i live in Alberta and wanted to test drive a Hyundai before flying home. No one would help me out in Ontario because i wasn't from here but Ed from the peterborough dealership hooked me up. Can't wait to get to Edmonton and pick up new Hyundai. Thanks Ptbo. And thanks Ed.
