1. Before visiting, as per discussion on call, vehicle were appropriately selected as per my need and were ready for drive test.
2. Crystal Tompa - Sales Associate, treated us exactly how any customer would want to be treated. Good knowledge about the brand n vehicles. Even gave us 2 pick n drops which is an appreciable gesture which shows how serious you are for customer success.
3. Vehicle was delivered on time and all the paper work was smooth.

I had to take my 2014 Elantra there for a recall. I understand that type of thing happens, that's life. But my battery just died like the day before, so I had boosted it to get it down to the shop. I assumed that it was the battery and not the alternator because there was no error code on the car, and the battery is original (6 years), etc. When I spend, my time, my gas; leave my vehicle overnight for a PRODUCT RECALL, (something that is the manufacturers fault and not my own) you would think they could 'comp' a simple battery test. If you're not mechanically inclined, it is very simple, they just hook up a small device. However Marc Major (the service guy) wanted almost $70 to do the test, and test the alternator, etc. It's just really cheap of them. They already have my car in the shop for their own issue, and they can't simply check the battery for me? I told him I didn't even care about testing the alternator, but it was still $70.

In any case, I declined to pay the outrageous amount. I didn't argue (I shouldn't have to). They said they would still quote me on a battery. And guess what??? $400!!!!! That's parts and labour.

Again, if you're not mechanically inclined, a battery can be replaced in 5-10 minutes. EVEN IF you don't know what you're doing. Do a Google search for "2014 elantra battery replacement", the videos are 5 mins long. You will never pay the dealer again! It is literally 3 bolts, pull battery out. Put 3 bolts on, done. Not even a special tool! 7 minutes total for me!

So I drove to Canaduan Tire, bought a battery $140 (it was the lower model, the dealers model was $240 in their defense) and I replaced it in 7 minutes.
So in summary, my issue:
While doing my RECALL, they couldn't even help me out. Tried to make $70 to test the battery (which I already knew, just wanted to confirm), and finally if that battery is $240; they tried to charge me an additional $160ish in labour for 7 minutes. (These are the mechanics, they probably would have been done in 3 minutes. What labour is involved in abattery swap?) In fact, Canadian tire will even give you $20 back for your old battery! Even if they don't do the install!

Now, if the dealer is going to be that cheap, and try to rip people off over such a small issue, (and assume we know nothing about car mechanics or their worth); then the real question is; How much is this dealership going to rip you off over buying a car there, or over bigger mechanical issues???

Think about it before you go here. Especially if you are not mechanically inclined, because then you will get taken advantage of. The older generation thinks that 'the dealerships' are safer and more thorough. Find yourself a good reasonable mechanic, or do it yourself; and watch out for these guys, they obviously need to pinch every penny.

They were quick to get back to me concerning cars coming in I may be interested in and very flexible with scheduling times to come in. The salesperson, Kyle took time to let me drive multiple cars I was interested in and explain their features. He clearly laid out both options so it was easier to make a decision. There was a delay in receiving the car as the other dealership had sent the wrong color and a stain that needed to be removed, However, we experienced great customer service whilst having those issues. Micheal was able to get us a special appointment for the stained to be removed. He also was understandable of how we had to spend extra time and rearranging the appointments. Steve Thurrott was our salesman, and definitely recommend going through him to buy a car. He is transparent, blunt, and to the point and helped us pick out a car that was right for us. He was readily available and even answered a text we sent late at night to schedule a meeting for the following day. It was our first time buying from a dealership, so there were a few bumps, mostly with the finance department and not with the sales team. If you don't have experience financing anything, be sure to do your homework on how the process works, what's included in your financing package so you know exactly what you are paying for and how much it all costs to avoid any misunderstandings with your contract.

This review is based solely on the service I received from the sales person Alan Bell. I ended up purchasing my vehicle elsewhere.
Alan was awesome, the most attentive and approachable sales person I met during my shopping experience and I went to over 7 different dealerships.

Honestly, not one other person at Hyundai even said HI to me and I walked around for quite some time looking for a specific model (inside and out). I even asked a sales lady where I could find it and she didn’t even care to help me out, just pointed me in the direction.

Not only was Alan the only sales person that recognized that I was there, he was by far the best I met during my shopping experience at all the different dealerships. He didn’t get my commission but he deserves the recognition.

I took my daughters car today for what we thought was a normal $60 oil and filter change. We were told we were due for the service 3 at $300 so we said go ahead so to honour the warranty. First I called for an hour to see if the car was ready with no response. And no I did not leave a message as I feel that is even worse.

I get there and am told we need back brakes and rotors. I ask them how can that be as the car only has 16,500 kilometres on it. The response was no you have 24,000. I start second guessing myself and tell him just do the service 3 and give me a quote sheet and I will discuss with my husband and daughter.

As I am returning home I’m in the car and notice that I am correct and the car is at 16,500 and the trip kilos on top are 2399.8. So they looked at the trip kilos and put 24,000 kilos on the paperwork.

1) should a Hyundai dealer dealing with a Hyundai car not know how to read the odometer?

2) this will affect my warranty having paperwork that says the car has more kilos on it then it does

3) I paid $335 to have service 3 done when service 3 is not due for another 7,500 kilometres

4) they tell me I need front wipers. in fact the back are broken and the front are fine

5) they tell me I need new back brakes and rotors and I am sure they don’t need to be done. They thought the car was at 24,000 kilometres so it’s just hey it’s brake time

6) I get an estimate for $896 for work which 90% does not need to be done

Needless to say I am livid. This is My daughters car that she would have to work many hours to pay for all of the stuff they are trying to get us to do when not needed

We will not return

Tarra told me about this before I went to see it, and I was happy that she didn't wait until I was there already in order to show me other vehicles. I appreciated that honesty. She offered to help me look for another one, she was always polite, easy to contact, never put pressure and she found answers to my questions.
