It was recently time to purchase a new car. I looked at various makes and models and realized a Hyundai Elantra Sport ticked all the boxes. After test-driving one at a local to me dealership and getting a price it was time to shop around. I contacted Hamilton Hyundai inquiring about a price on said car.

I received an email reply from Chandler, one of the sales consultants that he would try his best to get me a deal I was happy with. He also asked a few questions in a follow-up phone call asking me how far away I lived and if I had included all the accessories I desired. He even had checked to make sure the car was still available in the color I desired. I was happy with the price and after driving one hour from home was greeted with a salesman that wrote up the offer at the price just as he promised and in a short time returned to congratulate me on the purchase of my new car.

I was then introduced to Inara, the financial services manager who walked me through every detail in regards to additional warranty, insurance on the loan and made sure I knew what I needed to bring with me at time of delivery.

Delivery day arrives and all the financials are taken care of quickly by Inara, despite my earlier than agreed upon arrival for delivery. Chandler wasn't due in until later, but Colin whom I had met during the sale negotiation took the time to explain every feature on the car.

The staff has a checklist of things that they make sure they cover during the delivery process which would make a fighter pilot or Formula One chief mechanic proud, as Hamilton Hyundai is customer service focused.

Once my license plates were installed, I sat in a car I was now familiar with, adjusted everything to my liking, let the engine come up to operating temperature, turned the radio to Q 107 to hear Mick Jagger proclaim that he couldn't get no satisfaction. Maybe he should have shopped at Hamilton Hyundai. I sure got some satisfaction.

On Tuesday I first contacted this location through their website asking to test drive a vehicle. Very quickly I received a phone call to set up a time which was impressive with their turnaround time. However, the phone call was not as great. The gentleman I spoke to was very brass and not helpful once I told him I could not make it in that evening before their closing time due to my work schedule. Alternatively the next couple of evenings didn't work well for me, so I said Friday after work I could come by after 3 or anytime Saturday. The gentleman was very abrupt when he continued to say, you can but who knows if the car will still be here. Which is fine to say in other words and not with his tone. This evening I decided to stop by after work to see if someone was available to show me the vehicle and take it for a drive. When I arrived someone quickly came to greet me and asked what I was looking for. I gave him the description of the vehicle I found on their site and said I was interested in taking it for a test drive. He pointed me in the right direction and said he would get someone to come help. Someone came within a reasonable amount of time and I pointed out the vehicle I was interested in. The vehicle has keyless entry that did not work so he used the key to open it. Upon entry of the vehicle it was easy to tell the battery was dead as none of locks worked, and once we tried to start the vehicle it would not turn over. He then proceeded to say the battery must be dead, and when I asked him how long the vehicle had been sitting at the lot he said it had not been driven in a week. I expressed my concern with a car sitting for a week and the battery being completely dead. He then tried to tell me that was normal for a vehicle. Which was very concerning to hear that as vehicle batteries should be able to sit longer than a week without any use and not it drain completely. He then proceeded to try to boost the vehicle and had no luck. I expressed to him that I was no longer interested in the vehicle if a boost could not turn it over despite the vehicle only being 4 years old and under 100000km. He did not at any point apologize for the inconvenience or offer to show me alternative vehicles similar. As someone who comes from sales I expect someone to ask what I was looking for in a vehicle and be shown alternatives when what I was looking for fell short of expectations. The experience was very disappointing and I left. I don't think I will be continuing my search for newer vehicle with this location.

The experience from start to finish in purchasing our new Accent was very relaxed and pleasant! Masks and hand sanitizer at the door for us. Staff always wiping chairs and cleaning, we felt safe. The staff all worked very well together as a team to make sure we were well informed about the car. Mike our sales rep worked so hard in this heat to make sure we test drove the cars we wanted and shared so much knowledge about each one to help us choose the best car for us. The repair shop had all our questions answered about safety and past recalls in a heartbeat on printed paper so we could review it at home. Nice dealership, friendly but I am biased as I bought a Palisade from them. The salesman, Charlie was very helpful; and not at all pushy. Took us for a test drive and explained all the different functions of the car. The only negative is that there are no colour or interior colours in Canada that we wanted so we had to order the car. Since it is made in Korea we have to wait 10 weeks or more for delivery. We found the atmosphere here nicer than the other Hyundai dealer in Hamilton.

Wish I could give ZERO star but unfortunately the lowest is one start, this is by far is worst business I ever dealt with in my life not just the worst car dealership but the worst business in any field.

Went there to trade in my vehicle for a new one, and we sat and signed a contract and agreed on the terms and prices and I was clear that I'm firm on that deal and nothing what so ever will change that, went for the delivery date and while signing the final bill found increase they slipped in thinking I wouldn't notice trying to scam some more money, when I asked to speak to the manager he came his name is Sean Wilson and I can't even imagine how this person even have a job not to be a manager he start telling me that my trade me owing was higher than what I told them, well genius I never give you the amount owing you said you will get that yourself and when I offer it you and your finance team told me not to worry about it and you will get it.

So he said fine no deal and we will give you your ownership and deposit back as soon as possible, so I left and called back the next day asking where's my stuff to get an answer that the manager Sean Wilson is not in today please call tomorrow, called tomorrow to be told he's aware of it and he will call you right back so the day ended no calls, next day same story and kept going for 4 days until I reached out to the general manager and then everything magically started to work after they held my ownership and deposit for 8 days for no reason.
found out from someone working there that they or who call himself the manager was holding on it to put pressure on me to come back and take the deal with his terms, very shady business and for sure I'm happy that I survived that and didn't end up buying and for sure happy with the Mazda deal and people I bought from.

Bought a 2013 Sonata 6 yrs ago from this dealership. Had numerous recalls and repairs done to the car. Engine is now failing because of high oil consumption which isn't covered under the new warranty for the bad engines they built. The whole experience with this car has become a joke. Been waiting for months to get resolution on what will happen with the engine. Front desk forgot to get back to me twice. Had to speak to the manager who promised me twice that I was getting an engine but now it's looking like it isn't happening. Just a bad experience. Too bad. I was very interested in the 2020 Sonata. If it were possible to give a no star rating, I would since it would be most deserving. The service department lacks any professionalism and knowledge on how to service their own cars.

I was told that I had to be the one to tell them what oil to use, as is in the manufacturer's manual, in order to maintain my warranty. This was after they finally realized that the correct oil was not in my vehicle. After numerous calls to get any answers, I still have not heard from the service manager or even Hyundai Canada on this.

They also try to up-sell you on services not needed and even perform them when your not aware, such as a $50 tire rotation a week before the winter tires were to come off.

UPDATE: WOW, just wow. I cannot believe the way this dealership operates and treats people!! After fighting with them for a WEEK to get out of my deal, I agreed to pay for 'my portion of the cost' to tint the windows and rust proof the car. I mailed my cheque on 20 Apr '16, received an email on the 27 Apr asking if and when I mailed my cheque. On the 28 Apr, I was told via email that the cheque was received. Checked my bank account and viewed the cheque for Hamilton Hyundai and it was stamped 26 Apr!! I still have not received my cancellation letter stating that the deal is null and void.
It is beyond me how this dealership is still in business!! The more people I talk to about my experience, the more BAD reviews I hear!!

This dealership gives a bad name to Hyundai... I went in a few weeks ago to get a new car, we agreed on everything and had a package deal set up including tire storage, Xyilon paint cover and tint... this was included in the agreement.

When I arrived to pick up the car it did not have tinted windows and they told me they cant hold my winter tires... I showed them that the Tint is on my bill of sale as well as the Xyilon, of course the storage did not show up on bill of sale.. it was a verbal agreement. They lied to me and said the windows were tinted ( Correct me if Im wrong but do crystal clear windows count as tinted these days?) and that they did not know anything about the storage... So i asked was the Xyilon added and the answer I received was " I'm guessing so"........ WOW your a large dealership and you GUESS SO? good job... Finally after having to deal with them and explain what tint is (apparently not common sense?) they fixed the issue... I will never deal with these people again and I hope they mess with the wrong person in the future and get shut down!.

NEVER GO HERE... Go to Grimsby or Burlington Hyundai...

After much research my wife and I finally decided that we wanted to purchase a used Elantra. We found a 2009 model at this dealer and were happy with the price and mileage and had a positive experience with the salesman.

About 5 weeks later we recognized that our vehicle had a delay in the transmission when upshifting and discovered that it needed a new transmission. This was frustrating as the vehicle had exceed both factory and dealer warrantee's and we were certain that we would have to assume the cost of repair.

When we talked with the manager we bought the car from, we asked if he could do anything to help us out. He was polite and was willing to work with us. To be honest we were not sure what to expect and were blown away by the offer to replace the transmission with a warrantteed part at no cost to us. Needless to say that we are very happy with the way that they are remedying this problem and are once again excited about driving our car.
