Wasted my entire day at this dealership. Tomas Hevelka was my salesperson, and the exchange felt entirely dishonest. Spent the whole day offering breezy, vague promises of savings, but actual price is basically no better than the website. The quoted price was a full $5000 lower than the actual price, with no mention of where or why until the moment we sat down and got serious about buying. Imagine the disappointment. We probably would’ve bought the car over budget had this guy been transparent in the first place, instead of asking us what we want and telling us we should get a lower model because we can’t take his so-called deal. The condescension doesn’t help either.

It’s not the customer’s job to feel sorry for your profit margins.

I did not purchase my car through unhaggle at Open Road. I initially spoke with a sales person there about the car I was interested in, and he was pretty good, quite patient and helped me test drive a few models, etc. He gave me a quite which wasn’t particularly good, tried to pressure me into putting a deposit down but I made it clear I wasn’t making a decision that day. I took their “okay” deal away and did some research and responded with what my expectations were, fully expecting a counter deal, you know, what most people call “bargaining” or “negotiating,” the thing you do with sales. The response I got was basically a tantrum in an email, calling me unreasonable, referring to my “demands, asking how many people I’d refer to him and asking how I expected the dealership to make any profit. (Hint: not really my concern as a consumer, is it?) Well, I politely responded that rudeness or lack of civility was not a way to make a sale and that I hoped he could come back with a reasonable counter offer. Meantime I got a much better deal from a different Hyundai dealership who was far more professional and respectful, and I am very happy with my new car. Hopefully Open Road can take away some learning from this.

It was a long journey looking for my dream car my hope was a little down cuz i was not able to find in any other dealer the deal that better suits my needs.. Brain, GM and his team are big liars. At the time of deal whatever price we agree upon after the credit application and all will come up with different price.When you question will say they are transparent as we are showing before delivery. They not only do credit check without your consent which will reduce your score but will come up with this new added numbers. Its total waste of time to deal with this whole team. Would suggest to look for other dealers in lower mainland will save your time and surprises. THEY ARE BIG SCAM. I wish there was negative rating would have scored full it it.

I saw the car I wanted to purchase online and spoke with a sales person prior to arriving. I sent over all the needed documents before I got there in hopes to speed up the process. I was still there for 3 hours and had to drive back the following day for more paperwork. They were going to detail my car while I was there. I waited for ages and went outside to see the progress and saw that my car was sitting parked ready to go. No one told me my car was ready as I sat waiting. A week later someone drove out to me because there was still more papers to sign. I have never experienced such a long process.
While discussing financing options I was told I needed to give $1000 refundable deposit, this was to hold the car and I was told it would be refunded after purchase.
3 weeks later the deposit had not been refunded to my card. I contacted OpenRoad and was told it had to be mailed by cheque. If I didn't inquire would anyone of contacted me regarding my deposit?
It's now been 6 weeks since giving my refundable deposit and I still have not received a cheque.
6 weeks after purchasing a car, OpenRoad still has my deposit? It doesn't make sense to me.

I was in the market to purchase a new vehicle and had a specific car in mind that I wanted to test drive. I called ahead and spoke to the sales team and they told me that they had the car in the trim I wanted available for me to test. I had called ahead as this location was out of my way to come and visit. I arrived only to learn that they did NOT actually have the vehicle I wanted and was told to simply drive the same vehicle of another trim since they all drive the same. I ended up purchasing from Hyundai Maple Ridge from Brent and I would recommend anyone looking at a Hyundai to visit Brent as he is honest, direct and gets you a fair deal.

I go in here to service my car regularly, no interaction with sales, only parts and service. Not bad customer service for a generic shop. Pretty below par as a car dealership. It’s Difficult to get a hold of people, difficult to set up an appointment. Service technicians are only accessible when there’s money involved. One or two service people are excellent, the rest aren’t really great at customer service.

The level of service seemed to have dropped recently. I've had better experiences before but the latest visit was a mess. I went in for a service and had windshield wipers replaced, only to find that one hook was bent out of shape after the replacement. When I went back, the staff was dismissive of the issue and said it was fine since it's still functional. While it is negligible damage, it still was damage caused by the service. After a few minutes of discussion, they offered to "fix" it by bending it back in shape. That definitely wasn't the level of service I've come to expect from OpenRoad, they're typically better than this.

We drove to Vancouver from Washington and our car broke down the first evening. We had it towed to OpenRoad Hyundai and called their service department the next day. Gary spoke with us and worked hard to get the car back up and running quickly.

We had planned to go to Whistler the next day and he was in constant communication and ordered necessary parts to get the car up and running before we planned to head home! This prevented us from having to take a bus home and drive back again for the car (our worst case scenario). We could not rate this Hyundai more highly, especially Gary!!!

When I bought the car I was lied to about it having a oil change done on it. I signed the papers and was told to come back the next day for pickup so it could get a full service. It was 2 hours of extra driving for me but I was happy it was being serviced. 3 months later when I went in to have it serviced I was told it was very overdue for a service and hadn't had the oil change I was told of when I bought the car. Not only is this bad for the car car but I was completely lied to about it having an oil change. Since then I have tried to get in touch with our salesman Tobias, left 6 + messages that have all been ignored. I have tried for months to get in contact but after so long of being ignored I thought a review might be the only way to get a response.

We got our first and second car both at the Open Road Boundary. Coming from a different background, it was all about being skeptical and doubtful towards everyone and everything. However, the super friendly, caring and professional team of this place, made us be comfortable with our decisions and make the right calls. Due to some issues, we had to meet with almost everyone, which they managed it very well. Brianna, the business manager has always been helpful and kind, advising all the details with patience , Francis for the first time and Jonathan for the second time were our sales and product advisers which sincerely took the time to explain the steps , Robert which is the most patient operation manager handled issues professionally and took the time to talk with us personally, and super friendly Mamiko for advising the insurance details clearly, which is the most confusing part. The OpenRoad Hyundai Boundary deserves my 5-star review for their amazing customer service and professionalism. In particular, I and my family had the best time dealing with the product advisor, Jim Hill, and financial services manager, Brianna Rutledge, during our recent purchase of a car at this dealership. Jim is a humble person, who gives you enough information about the product, but does not push you or becomes desperate enough to sell the car at any cost. After seeing the car online and talking to Jim over the phone, I had decided to go to the dealership to see the car in person and test drive it. While there, I found Jim to be honest in his words and assessments of the car and sensitive to customer needs and priorities. Unlike many salespeople, he does not speak too much, and this is an asset of him. He does not exaggerate the features of a car. He does not try to hide information either. Rather, he is a patient listener to the customer’s questions, curiosities and concerns. He went to see his supervisor (probably a sales manager) multiple times and came back with answers to my questions regarding the car that I was interested in, and which I eventually bought. During those episodes, he did not express any frustration or irritation. He carried smile in his face all the time.
I and my family also appreciate Brianna’s help during our car purchase from this dealership. She made our purchase a smooth and comfortable experience. Knowing that we had a 5-year old daughter and getting to the dealership by public transit could be a strenuous journey, she offered us a pick-up service from our place. She coordinated with Jim and he came to pick us up at our place and took us to the store. Not only that, Jim also gave me a ride to the bank and back to the store. The small yet generous gesture like this gives you a hint that both Brianna and Jim are focused on high-level customer service and satisfaction.

Communications with Service department left a bad aftertaste though. It seems they don’t have a good connection with Sales department, rather chase a client instead of checking internally first; quoting of labour cost for the same part varies from $ X to $ 2X when done by different people a week apart; and loooong wait times for service get done, 20 minutes installation takes 3 hours, with an appointment

On our trip to Surrey neared an end I noticed our Genesis had a few wheels not balanced. So I called into OpenRoad Hyundai as I found out that they were a Genesis store. I told them the situation and they got me in right away. I found it a bit weird that nobody comes to greet you when you roll into the service drive through. Either way we parked there and strolled on into the service area. They welcomed us and we gave them our keys. My family took off for a walk. When the car was done they picked us up from where we ended up, that was excellent. All the service staff included the fixed ups manager was very friendly. The person who picked us up and took our vehicle away the first time was very respectful. Very happy with the service staff overall. 1 negative is from what I could tell not s single sales staff member came to speak to us or even said hello when we were strolling around the showroom. Don't expect the sales staff to engage you at this location should you be looking for a new vehicle. Not enough of an annoyance to dock a star though as the service department was OUTSTANDING! Keep up the great work!!
