worst customer service in the service department. I called and explained my situation and that I needed a vehicle to get to and from work, and was told that I could pay for a rental, but that they wouldn't help me. My car is still within the 1 year/ 20,000km adjustment period. Should be no cost to me for anything. That being said I will never bring my vehicle for service here. I will drive to Victoria to get it looked after.
An absolutely positive (and fun!) experience dealing with Darien, Lisa & Andy. We 100% recommend this dealership to anyone looking for a new vehicle. The service and treatment was exceptional.
Scott was a very helpful and friendly sales person as was Andy the sales manager. But the female finance manager was very unprofessional and made the mistake of calling another dealership we were considering to ruffle feathers which was a disadvantage because they offered us a better deal due to this. Not a smart move. She also just generally gave a bad vibe and we didn't want to have to deal with her so sadly even though Scott put in the work and was our favourite sales person out of the many we dealt with over the week ended up losing our business

After a positive discussion with Andy [managing partner at Hyundai] all the concerns and issues are being addressed. Sometimes things do go wrong and it is really reassuring to know that this Hyundai dealership takes it seriously and is willing to fix the problem. That is all we can ask. .
I want to add that this issue did not detract from the positive, professional and haggle free experience with salesman Scott and would highly recommend him anytime!
Previous post: I accompanied my daughter while she purchased a certified pre-owned 2018 Tuscon about three weeks ago. it was to include a roof rack but it wasn't on the car when she bought it and still no sign of it! Secondly what initially appeared to be a scratch at the back tailgate turned out to be a large crack that runs right underneath the car. Hope these issues can be resolved soon.

Since I was coming from Vancouver to the island Scott arrange with Greg to pick me up from the terminal at no charge. Overall the transaction went smooth as butter, relaxed atmosphere with no pushy sales tactics. Very happy with my purchase, A+!

My wife and I purchased a used 2020 Elantra Preferred with the Sun and Safety package in July 2020 from Duncan Hyundai. We were impressed with the laid back sales experience, especially with the pandemic, and the accommodating nature of everyone in their staff. We would definitely encourage everyone to check them out. Additionally I am loving the Elantra and the 754 km I can drive on a single tank of gas.
My experience with buying a car here was great. I dealt with Darien, he was knowledgeable, easy to talk too, and not pushy. The whole team was welcoming, and and helpful. I would highly reccomend buying a vehicle from Duncan Hyundai.
My wife and I just purchased a Palisade from Duncan Hyundai and it was the most relaxing and fun automobile purchase of my life. I am 65 yrs old and have dealt with many dealerships and NONE have been as efficient, relaxed, no pressure, true to their word and to me the most important thing FUN as these guys. Scott is my salesman and what a great young man. He kept me informed and had answers to all my questions. Jordan, the sales manager, went above and beyond locating me a vehicle. Andy the GM is super efficient and relaxed. Andy had everything ready for us so all we had to do was walk in and sign the papers and drive away.
We are from Nanaimo and after talking with 3 other dealerships, Victoria, Nanaimo and one in the lower mainland it was a very easy decision to go with Duncan Hyundai. I told all 3 others what I wanted and they didn't listen to me at all. They all tried to up sale me and telling me I should have this and that. Scott and Jordan listened to me and delivered on what I wanted. No up sale, no needing of anything else extra. THEY LISTEN. They give you a price with every thing in. Nothing hidden or any surprises later. They are true to their word.

Brought my 20176’ Elantra to them for maintenance/service recommended after 47,000kms. Great staff, not pushy - phoned me while servicing it to ask about a couple of extra items that needed changed but said they could wait if over my budget... he told me in order what was most important and I immediately felt at ease. Definitely returning there for future - felt at ease and the Servce personnel are top-notch

There ISN’T a 6 hour marathon buying a vehicle here. From the time we arrived at the dealership, until we left was under 2 hours. Even under the strict Covid guidelines. Everything, including our test drive, paper work, insurance ALL under 2 hours. That’s efficiency folks.
Andy, the General Manager was even out putting our licence plates on the vehicle, while handling the financial aspects of our deal. Scott, the Sales Representative was great and no pressure tactics whatsoever. How refreshing..

Scott was particularly accommodating; I was coming in from out of town and he did a great job finding a vehicle that was best for my family and my needs. I rolled away with a car that was less expensive than the one I'd originally come in to see and I couldn't be happier with it! Great service, excellent people, and an all-around awesome experience.
Had a really refreshing experience buying a used vehicle from Scott. Not usually a fan of dealerships and the sales pressure.. didn't get that here! walked out feeling good about my purchase. If you want a no pressure sales experience I would reccomend Scott any day.

I needed to buy a vehicle in 10 days with a set budget. I did my homework & decided a Hyundai Tucson was right for me. I contacted 8 dealers between Vancouver Island & the Lower Mainland & put them to work to see who could find me the right fit. Some didn’t listen to my criteria, some didn’t get back to me, some used high pressure sales techniques and some expected me to search their inventory & tell them which vehicle on their lot was right for me. At 72 years of age, I wanted someone to say “I understand, I will get back to you shortly with the perfect vehicle for you”. Only one dealer & one man did this for me - Andy James at Duncan Hyundai.

Duncan Hyundai is a great place to buy a new car. They do not use the typical pressure sales tactics I have experienced at other dealers in the past. I ordered a Kona EV and they kept me in the loop as much as they could regarding delivery and pricing.
If you know anything about ordering this car in North America, you know that the waiting list is long and Hyundai corporate have not been keeping the dealerships in the loop on deliveries, pricing and model years being delivered.
Geoff kept us up to date with the information he had, including the new model year minor price increase. He welcomed all of our questions and returned our calls and emails promptly and after-hours in some cases. When we dropped in to inquire about where we were on the wait list, he was very patient with us and answered all of our questions.
Our car was delivered two months sooner than we expected, and when we went to complete the deal, everyone in the dealership was helpful and there were no pressure tactics to try to upsell us on add-ons. We were informed what was available to us (all at once, not the typical tactic revealing lower cost options after one was turned down that you would experience at other dealers) and everything was patiently explained.
We hadn't decided whether to trade in our car and were honest with them about it. They appraised it for us, made an offer and when we countered, they almost got there. In the end we declined to trade in and they were most gracious about it.
The additional accessories we wanted were installed in the car immediately. The car was perfectly clean and we got a thorough walk through before leaving.
I wish all of my car buying experiences had been this pleasant. Everyone we dealt with was great, including Geoff, Jordan, Jon, Cass, Ralph and even the ICBC rep Haley.
I would recommend this dealership to anyone on Vancouver Island looking for a new Hyundai. They'll treat you right.
Good stuff. I dealt with Luke Cross in July when I was on the market for a used truck. The guy was super friendly... really nice to deal with. They put new offroad tires on the truck worth 1000$ and even delivered it to Tofino! Stellar service
EXTREMELY POOR EXPERIENCE! We ordered a new Kona back in May. After 5.5 months, we received a call from our sales guy, Luke, letting us know someone cancelled their order and we were next in line... oh, and they've raised the price by over $800.
This was not our agreement, and not what we put our downpayment on 5.5 months prior. So, after talking to the sales guy and then being escalated to the General Manager, it was clear we were just being squeezed for more money. We cancelled our order with Duncan Hyundai because these were the types of shady business practices we experienced with Victoria Hyundai a few years prior.
We ended up going to Campus Nissan in Victoria, dealt with a great sales rep, test drove a brand new Leaf, signed the agreement, and put down our downpayment. We received outstanding customer service (absolutely no pressure) and in only a week and a half we had our brand new EV Leaf to take home.
We very much regret giving Hyundai another chance. Their poor business practices wasted our time and took money out of our pockets for 5.5 months. Not to mention if we just started with Nissan, we would have had an electric vehicle much sooner.

A way better experience than Victoria Hyundai. I would even go so far as to say it's worth the drive up from Victoria to Duncan! Tons of parking. They wash the car after a service better and when your service or work on your car is finished they actually call you back and let you know!! Friendly, helpful knowledgeable staff!! And they don't pressure you here!! If you need to go to a Hyundai dealer on the south island go here.

Re: Hyundai Ioniq Plus purchase. It took me 60 years to find a car dealership that didn’t try and mess with the numbers before the plates were on the car. I can’t adequately describe how good it made me feel to complete a purchase without a (bad) surprise. Obviously my personal experience.....the most honest dealer, salesman (Luke Cross) I’ve ever dealt with. I would highly recommend speaking with them if you were looking for a vehicle. The Ioniq is a dream to drive (& a great deal with the government grants).

I became a Hyundai owner over 3 years ago (actually bought it from Honda lol) and have really enjoyed my SantaFe. Thus I needed a local dealer to look after my SUV. I can speak on the service side of their dealership an it is 100% 5 star. I am treated first class and they always go the extra mile. My car is washed with every oil change. Sometimes they have provided a courtesy vehicle if a larger service which is so nice. Free coffee and free wifi on the customer waiting area too.
Nice honest guys who let the cars sell themselves, no pushy tactics here and great finance options. Look forward to their new showroom next year.

The parts & services staff is friendly enough but quite incompetent. Incredibly unimpressed with their service (or lack thereof). Can't say I was surprised when I picked up vehicle to take it somewhere else and there was a random cigarette sitting in the console... Very unprofessional.
