The dealer received my Hyundai Ioniq 5 and when I went into the dealership and spoke with financing. She told me that they were waiting on an answer from the dealerships owner in regards to the 5K Federal Government EV rebate. According to her, the dealership has been having issues collecting the money back from the government with some of the rebates being denied and them being left on the hook for up to 5K. She gave no specific info on which EV's were denied.
The reasoning they gave me was that the 2023 model that I am getting is more expensive than the 2022 I ordered. I pointed out that the iZEV program was updated and that the car does qualify and even Hyundai Canada shows the full rebate available.
As a work around, She proposed that she would give me the rebate if I take 5K of my deposit and give it to them to hold until they get their money from the government or they will keep it if they get denied.
She told me it can take them months to get the rebates if approved and I would have to let the vehicle sit if the owner says no and I refuse to let them hold onto my 5k.

HORRIBLE DEALERSHIP! I saw a 2018 Sonata advertised on their website and contacted the internet sales manager (Josh). We discussed price, trade-in amount and shipping (I live in Regina and do not want to travel to Alberta due to Covid-19).

I was informed the vehicle will be delivered within 4-9 days and the delivery truck driver will pick up my traded Honda Accord. So on April 20th, I paid for the vehicle in full, and once receipt of payment was confirmed we signed the purchase agreement and other docs. I sat back expecting my car to be delivered as promised.

Eighteen days later, I received a call asking for my assistance to take my Accord to a local Honda dealership in Regina where the GM of West Edmonton Hyundai, Dwayne, had a friend who will purchase the Honda from them, so they don't have to ship it to Alberta. This friend of Dwayne attempted to low-ball me by offering a lower amount than the agreed trade-in value. They thereafter threatened to cancel the deal if I do not take the $1k hit, despite the agreement we already in place.

I am disgusted at their filthy tactic just to make an extra undeserved $1k profit. I have asked for a refund, but they have been silent. West Edmonton Hyundai has held my money hostage for three weeks while they have refused to deliver the car.

Shame on West Edmonton Hyundai!

Bought my first car, Kona 2019 Luxury in Dec 2018. I’ve had screeching brakes, a blower motor that screeched loudly and was replaced after the third time going back, oil gasket leaking for over a year, and left brake light warning coming on randomly to name a “few” issues with my brand new car. Every time I brought it in, they would say nothing was wrong. They finally replaced the blower motor after I was adamant about what I was hearing. A year later, they finally sealed the oil gasket with silicone after it was leaking. I had to bring in a cardboard with oil drippings to show them. And every time I brought in my car, I was always the last one to leave and never offered a loaner. I legit have a lemon and their resolution was for me to trade it in and go into more debt by $15k+ because that’s all they have in “stock”. That’s it, that’s the goodwill gesture. I have top of the line warranty and insurance, and that means nothing. All they care about is money and it shows. Worst decision of buying my car at a dealership that looks at you like a dollar bill. The service centre and call centre offered the same resolution, trade it in and get more debt. This is unacceptable.

Over two hours for an oil change with an appointment booked. Was told when I showed up that no one was ahead of me. Dealership was pretty dead with employees out numbering customers 2-3 : 1. Has been an emerging trend of taking longer and longer when I come here.
Despite buying the lifetime oil changes when I bought my car here I may start going elsewhere or doing them myself. I can't spend 2 - 3 hours everytime I come here for something simple.
2 stars because the staff at the desk were pleasant and sound like they have to hear complaints about the unreasonably slow service all day long.
Take your business elsewhere if your time has value.

I had a great experience here. I went in having had a bad experience at another dealership and was first assisted by the Sales Manager Brian. He was polite, courteous, thoughtful and extremely helpful setting me up with an appointment to come in and test drive a couple of vehicles. When I came in Brian introduced me to my sales rep Jeff. Jeff was amazing, having test drives on the 2 vehicles I planned on Jeff was listening to my feedback and offer red 1 more test drive on a different vehicle than I was initially looking at based on my comments. I left the dealership with a huge decision, I was in love with 2 vehicles, one that I new already I was interested in and the second one I had never heard of a Venue. I had sat with Brian who was extremely transparent and went over all of the pricing on both vehicles and printed me a copy of everything so I could take it home to sleep on. I was even offered to take one of the vehicles home with me for the night if I had wanted. Jeff was fantastic contacting me shortly after I left the dealership and continuing to text with me until 11 pm that night answering my many questions. Tonight I went in to the dealership again and Jeff took more time out with me just sitting in the vehicle teaching me how to use all the different buttons and electronics! Again I can’t say enough about both Jeff & Brian and highly recommend West Edmonton Hyundai to anyone. Tomorrow I go pick up my new 2020 Venue and couldn’t be happier! 😃

Most useless money I had ever spent, went in on Monday to have my car looked at and as always with all these places they undermine you and offer you unnecessary recommendations, most of which I declined. In the end, $800 later, mind you 2 thirds of that was just labour pay, and not even 24 hours in, the car is back to its original state, I will not be taking it back as I will probably be told that I'll need to spend more just to get my ignition coils changed, no thanks I'll do that myself! Biggest waste of money!

2008 I purchased a Hyundai Tuscon and had wonderful experiences with the service department. Due to circumstances, I purchased a 2017 Tuscon as a result of my positive experiences at West Edmonton Hyundai.
However, Jan My car broke down due to a Power Train Problem which was covered by My Warranty. However, with the COVID19, getting the parts was difficult. Finally after having my car for 3 months, it was returned with cracks in the window that were not there prior. I am past livid. I was patient awaiting my vehicle to be repaired. And as a person in customer service, there was absolutely minimal effort from the service team.

I do wish to say that when I called to get a quote on a new windshield (And at this point angry and in tears) LEVI who answered the phone was beyond accommodating and exceeded expectations for customer care in talking me off the ledge.
Regardless, I have to replace a windshield that when my car was turned over to them was in pristine condition.

Definitely time to change service providers and type of vehicle. This car is nothing short of a lemon and in doing research, the problem with my car was not a one off, but a common occurrence.

Bilal was awesome. I bought my car at this dealership back in October 2014. In just over 5 years he has been the best one to explain the Life Time Oil Change/Smart Advantage package with full transparency and honesty. I was shocked to learn that I have to maintain 24k services to keep oil change for lifetime. Please seriously consider giving him a raise for his efforts.

Furthermore, the service to my car was efficient and done in 3 hours--maybe even less--while including an oil change and service three. That was very impressive.

I'd say overall, the service at this location remains very good. If you are looking for somewhere to get your car serviced, let alone buy a new car--try here. There's a reason why they have won more than one Customer Service Choice Award over the years.

After a few days of car shopping at go auto dealerships - this place was a breath of fresh air! I ended up purchasing a used car (2014) off their lot that was in immaculate condition. My experience from start to finish greatly exceeded my expectations. I had two sales people help me with my choice - the first time I have ever seen teamwork and collaboration in a sales environment. Even the service tech took time to shake my hand and talk to me about his philosophy on inspecting and serving the used vehicles that come onto their lot. I would recommend this dealership to anyone that wants to be treated like a real person and not a dollar sign. I will definitely be bringing my car here for servicing, and intend to purchase my next vehicle from this dealership in the years to come.

Bought my 2011 hyundai equus from here back in 2018, and I've been bringing it back for maintenance and repairs ever since. In the past, I've been disappointed with the service but didn't make a big deal out of it. About a week ago, I took it in for wheel alignment and tire rotation following the technician's recommendation. 3 days before that, I had taken it in for a different issue (traction control light was on and VSM). During the repair, they had to take off the bumper to do some diagnostics. Now, the front sensors in the bumper aren't in the right positions anymore. They randomly go off (warn me) even when I'm not close to any object in the front! Back to the pics posted below! Just got back from a vacation and noticed one of the center wheel caps missing! I didn't walk around the vehicle when I took it from the dealership about a week ago, something I should have done. To make it worse, I never rushed them through anything! Was super patient! I put 3 stars because Sarah Fox was nice and kept in touch throughout.

2 years back i dropped my car for service and few weeks later a speeding ticket came to me (which they paid).

Recently I dropped my car for service and it came back with broken Windshield. The Dealership just wants to wash there hands from it by giving excuses and blaming on other things (another small chip).

Ask them to write in detail if there is any current damage e.g existing small scratch on the car but when you pick up the car if there are more scratches they will point you to inspection report even if the new one is much bigger.

They could have made more money by accepting the fault and in return me giving more business but guess what there is always another client so watch out.

Update 9th Dec 2019: Had a problem with the car (knock sensor harness) Saturday evening. Drove car in limp-home mode to dealership by 10:30am unannounced and they had it fixed and back to me by 2:30pm. Good job, well done.

Abysmal and unacceptable service. Took our car in for the gear selector stuck in park. They claim they fixed it with a brake switch. Next day, same problem. Took it back. They claim they made a mistake on the brake switch install and fixed it. Next day, same problem. Dropped it off and suggested they check the TRS. The car has been there for a MONTH and barely any contact. They won't return calls, messages, or update us on the car. When we finally did get a hold of someone they said they hadn't touch it in 3 weeks because the person doing the paperwork was on leave and no one else could do it. Starting to wonder if they damaged our car and are trying to hide it since they won't talk to us.

I highly recomend against buying a vehicle here. I ordered a vehicle on February 9 (everything went smoothly with no issues) and was told it would be awhile to get the color with the interior wanted. I then received no information for weeks. I called for an update and was told it was being made in March. So I wait till end of March and once again I have to call for an update and get told that it will probably be delivered around the end of the month (April/beginning May). So I wait some more. I call again and leave a message for the manager and 5 days later I finally get a call back from my original sales person. I get told on May 22, it is being made this month.

The lack of communication, disrespect and the complete disregard for any type of decent sales practice is utterly astonishing. Thank you for wasting my time!!

I wouldn't recommend this location to anyone. Hyundai is great just this location is horrible. Had issues with my vehicle, came in to get advise on it, and they told me what to do until I was able to get in for the appointment to fix it. I did what I was told for the mean time. Appointment day came and now since I did what I was told to do in the mean time, they now would not cover what was initially wrong and told me it was my fault for the issue. I got charged for everything even though it was them who mentioned what to do to get me through till my appointment. And the initial issue still is not resolved. I would highly recommend just going to another location for service work instead. You would be a lot happier with the results.

It has come to my understanding that this Hyundai dealership potentially took advantage of a new immigrant to Canada would could not speak much English on a routine drop in oil change. I look forward to stopping by soon to speak with the manager of this location to see if there any anything they can do to make this right. Otherwise this review will remain to make people aware that they should not take their cars here if they do not speak enough English to understand car issues.

EDIT: Spoke today to the service manager. I got the usual "we recommend these at X interval, etc." "she should have brought the information to someone who understood it before agreeing to the services"

Your service techs are in a position of authority, and when they have the car in for service *which was unneeded in the first place - 48k service on a car with ZERO issues and only 38k* and call someone while you have the vehicle saying, "oh this is a serious issue that needs to get done" it pushes someone to a snap decision. We feel that this location misrepresented the issues to the client and are upset they wouldn't even acknowledge the issues.

Also, when the service manager says "we recommend the 48000k service every 24000km", I kinda get the feeling you're BS-ing me about all the stuff you said. At least you stand by your decisions, I'll give you that.

The review stands. It really just seems like typical upsell-dealership style stuff, and something they would probably do to anyone.

Nowhere and at no time was it mentioned that these services are "recommended" or not critical, and they were represented as very important and things which she should get done. As always, don't trust the dealer until you do some searching and pricing on your own.

I recently visited West Edmonton Hyundai in Edmonton, this was not my first visit. But, I will tell you now why I am writing a reveiw. The staff treat you like royalty starting with service writers who are very knowledgeable and if you need further assistance they make sure your request is forfilled even making sure a ride if necessary is arranged. Also the service is excellent fixing your vehicle is there job,.AND THEY DO AN EXCELLENT JOB, even a wash and minor detail at no extra charge. I must not forget all the faces you do not see who work very hard keeping such a big wheel turning so smooth. In closing yes I will buy another Hyundai and it will be from West Edmonton Hyundai.

I’ve had pretty good experiences with this location for the most part. But today I have to say that I’m pretty disappointed. I was sent a confirmation text for my appointment that was booked, and the time on the text was incorrect. So I called at 930am to inquire. I had to leave a message to be called back because no one in services was available. Since then I’ve called back approximately 3-4 times, with again, no one in the service department answering the phone. Left another message with reception who said they would find someone to look into it and call me back at some point. It’s now 520pm and i still haven’t heard back from anyone. I tried to call again, and again no answer in the service department. I understand that it can get busy, but I find it ridiculous that it could take over 7.5 hours to get back to a concerned customer. Truly disappointed this time, it really feels like this is not a priority to you at all. It’s an inconvenience to me and having to chase someone down to try to fix it is proving to be a big time hassle. It’s not easy to find a time that’s convenient to service a vehicle with a busy schedule. This is just adding to the stress of it all.

I give them a star rating of 2 today only from this experience. To be fair the other time we had an issue it was dealt with by Bonnie and she was great. Also our experience with the salesperson who sold us the vehicle a couple years back was awesome (Levi).

We've had four Hyundai's and started this upgrade just like each of the others, by driving from dealership to dealership checking out the style of vehicle we were looking for. Once again we ended up back at Hyundai. The quality of the vehicle, available options and more just seem to be a best fit for us. The staff at WEH didn't presume to know what we wanted and push it on us, like so many other sales groups do. They listened and presented options and alternatives, not limitations.

The true test of a dealership's customer service comes not with an every day sale, but with how they handle things when something goes wrong. Our story began with the purchase of a 2014 Elantra GT L, which needed to be shipped in, but the car never made it to our dealership as the originating dealership sold it instead. Understandably disappointed, this led to a two week mad rush on the dealership's part to try to find us another one, and when one could not be found, these guys were SO good with giving us other options, helping us out wherever possible, and making sure that we were ultimately happy. They knew that it might come down to us having to walk away, and they never pressured us or made us feel like that would be the wrong decision. They were honest, up front, apologetic, and understanding of our frustrations the entire time. A lot of their time and effort went in to finding us another car, which we now have, and we love. Alberto, Danny, and Nikki were so good with us the whole way - Danny and Alberto spent over 1 1/2 hours with us on the sales floor working out options and calling other dealers, and when we came in stressed about our old car, Nikki was wonderfully funny and helped us to relax and laugh. For a situation that could have been a complete nightmare, these guys turned the whole thing right around and went out of their way to make us happy - the true test of excellence in customer service. I had decided I wanted a new car months ago and West Edmonton Hyundai was my first stop. I had purchased a Hyundai Accent from another dealership and had decided not to return due to their misleading and lack of ownership for statements made.

I was greeted very warmly by the staff present and Alan approached me asking several questions to narrow down what it was I wanted, needed and was willing to spend on a monthly and total scale. I had already decided I wanted a vehicle that had a hatch as I needed room for large canvas', more than 150 HP and was adamant that I didn't want a 4 door vehicle. I love sports cars and wasn't going to bend very much on what I wanted as my little Accent would suffice until I found something new.

Alan was fantastic, answered all of my questions without hesitation and they were accurate. He knows his product!

We took a test drive in a car fresh off of a truck, was friendly and cordial through the whole process. Not once did I feel as though he was forcing a sale; instead it was as though he was more interested in the car suiting my needs and wants.

I walked away, saying I'd likely be back and he was friendly, not discouraged nor (as others had then been) irritated that he had taken the time to show me a vehicle.

Needless to say I came back, signed the papers and was on my way to work to wait for the car to be prepped and primped for me upon return! There was a small snafoo upon pick up, a TINY ding in the door that had happened sometime that morning. They called me ahead of pick up time, told me what had happened to the car and were so very apologetic. I was able to pick it up that day and enjoy my beautiful (first) new car that week while I was home from site and dropped it off again into their loving care and it was perfect again when I returned this time from site.

The most impressive part of this dealership isn't just that they treat you with respect when you come in, nor is it the extensive knowledge that their staff have, or the extremely friendly and personable financing staff. It's the ownership that they show when things go a little sideways. THAT is what makes this an incredible place to buy your car. They're a wonderful group and I would HIGHLY recommend to anyone looking for a new car!

You guys rock! Thank you for being so fantastic, honest and friendly. It was a treat to work with you, I just wish a car purchase wasn't so long term or I'd be back again and again!

I would not hesitate to send friends and family here, I'd insist they drove the 45 minutes from the North end of Edmonton just to see how awesome this place is.

Great buying experience

The entire team that we dealt with at West Edmonton Hyundai were great and created an atmosphere that brought us back.

We went to look at a vehicle, just considering it, as I had pretty much decided on buying something else. However the dealership made us feel at home there. Tye and Aaron did a great job in showing the Santa Fe to it best. We left went to another dealership to test drive the other vehicle, had lunch and discussed which one was a better choice for me. In the end I choice the Santa Fe from West Edmonton Hyundai due not only to the vehicle itself but because of the way that we were treated at the dealership and how at home and comfortable we felt there.
