Hello everyone, I just want to inform everyone that I just had a worst and harassing experience at this dealership. I booked a SUV with southtown Hyundai with salesman Ryan on July 6, 2020. I was buying a used vehicle, plus I am new in Canada I did not know how it's Canadian car dealership works. They told me to put a $2000 deposit in full faith then they made me sign the paper and I signed it, but they never told me it's not refundable. Unfortunately, on next day I couldn't proceed with the deal and didn't want vehicle anymore, and I went back on that very moment to get $2000 back. The Sales Manager Jacob said that they are not giving me my money back I have to buy another vehicle. I don't like any other car from their agency. I don't know what to do now as they are not returning my money. I am totally harrassed at this point because this thing is not getting solved from Monday and I tried my best to request them to give me my money back and he refused for everything. He is forcing me to buy any car from their dealership when I don't like anything. Seriously, I have to say this is a total mental harrassment. I have to pay my bills and my wife is also on layoff because of COVID-19. They are not helping in any way and at this point I don’t want to deal with them. I want my full refund now as it is not a small money. Just giving you guys heads up, I don't recommend this Dealership and Sales Manager at all.

“I purchased a car at this dealership in late August 2019. I was assured by the salesperson that I dealt with that should I have any problems or concerns I could return there and they would gladly assist me. When I was changing my wiper blades this past week I noticed that the moulding between the hood and windshield was damaged such that a piece of the moulding had been broken at some point and they had simply glued it back together rather than replace it.

I returned to the dealership to bring the damage to their attention and show them they had simply put glue on the damaged piece. I requested that they replace the damaged part because you cannot fix the damage with glue.

The salesman/manager that was on duty was very rude to me. He insulted me and called me a liar. He then got in my face and told me that they would not fix it! That was a totally unacceptable way to treat anyone let alone a customer.

Another staff member who witnessed this behavior suggested I return the next day to speak to the General Manager.

I met with the General Manager the next day and he also told me that they would not fix the damaged part. In fact, he suggested that when I need my windshield replaced perhaps they could do something about the damage at that time. That was a ridiculous suggestion because replacing the damaged part should not be dependent upon a windshield replacement!

They do not honour their words that they will gladly assist their customers if any problems arise. Instead they are very rude and treat their customers as though they are stupid!

Their customer service is terrible. Think twice before you give them your business because they do not care about their customers and their words mean nothing!”

Recently had an emergency with my vehicle. Southtown not only took care of me same day but were really friendly and responsive. I love the new system where your service advisor will contact you via text and you are able to text any questions throughout the process. My service advisor was Rory and he was so quick to respond and communicate every step of the way. The texts helped me keep in touch while not interrupting my work day. Haneef from Financing and Derek made many calls and went above and beyond to make sure we got the lowest rate possible, and Derek from the sales team was very thorough with making sure we knew how the car operated before we left the dealership.

My car started making a strange noise and the check engine light came on just before New Years. I was close by Southtown Hyundai and took it there.

Although the service centre was closed as it was a Sunday, the receptionist (I think her name is Julie) was so helpful and friendly. She apologized that I was having a bad day, took my keys to pass to the service centre the following day, offered me a coffee while she ordered a cab and provided a taxi chit so I could get home. Huge thumbs up there, and definitely made my day better!

The following morning, I had a call from Glen. He was super helpful and told me that they will try to get the car in that day, but if not, the following day as they would have to honour previous appointments - absolutely no problem for me, in fact, it says a great deal that they take their appointments seriously.

The following day, Glen called me again and told me that they had looked at the vehicle, explained what the issue was, and was able to answer some questions for me. Keep in mind, this is my first vehicle and I’m not exactly car-savvy.
Thankfully it was all covered under warranty and I felt incredibly at ease talking to Glen. Furthermore, I was provided a number to text at any time should I have additional questions.

Within a couple of days, Glen let me know that the vehicle was ready to pick up and thanked me for my patience. I went to pick my car up and I have to say that every single member of the team there was friendly and warm, even though they all looked like they were incredibly busy. I was helped by Jeff, Glen went to grab the car for me and I was back on the road in no time.

I know this is a long review, but I would 100% recommend this place. I didn’t feel belittled or like I was a number. The service was fast, even though they were clearly busy, and nothing but friendly and professional.

If I could put more stars, I would! 10/10 - Great work!

Had a recall on a part in my vehicle... had to take the whole day off school because they wouldnt offer a loaner vehicle and their "shuttle' only services the south side. So for a free recall service you still PAY. I recommend going to a dealership that actually offers transportation for when they have your car.

Updated 06/19 - simple update to the engine software and when i came to pickup at the promised pickup time 8h later- still ended up waiting. Returned with no courtesy wash. Revised my original 3stars to 1. Richard seemed defensive when dealing with questions.

Updated 12/19 - Went in for new winter tires- service was much faster than before with few problems. Updating this review to 3 Stars due to the better service. Only feedback is to please lock client cars when they are sitting in your parking lot. I pointed this out when I picked up my vehicle only to hear "it was only for 5minutes" from Richard.

Updated 12/19 - New winter tires went flat in my driveway less than 24h after installation. Revised back to 1 star.

Pretty straight forward review. The service department doesn't care what the vehicle actually needs, they care what the misleading franchise pamphlet says to make money. They do not provide customer service they trick people into getting unnecessary service done by using scare tactics and misleading messages.

My wife brought her SUV here to have her winter tires on and there "fall service deal". She signed for about 300 dollars worth of work. She then got a voice mail saying the oil was dark and they recommend doing an oil flush. When my wife called back the "customer service rep" said it looks like she needs new breaks done, and a new battery (suggesting she should because she wouldn't want to get stranded) My wife called me for advice and I told her just the oil flush. So my wife called back and said do the flush as well.

When my wife got home and told me the service was over 600 dollars and they didn't do the oil flush I was livid. The dealership that left a voice mail about an oil flush and then during the follow up call didn't mention transmission anything did a costly transmission flush on a vehicle that has 72,000km on it. When I called to find out why they would do that (owners manual say it never needs to be done, but for severe weather do it at 96,000 km) I was told that the dealership works off the pamphlets from the manufacturer that they do this service at 56,000km so almost twice as early as the owners manual recommendations for severe weather.

I realise that nothing will be done about this but I want people to be aware that your vehicle and it's warranty are valid if you follow your owner's manual recommendations. I say this based on my vehicle and it's warranty holding up by doing the owners recommend service and having documentation. The service department will do work you do not need based off the made up franchise pamphlets that only lines the pockets of the dealership. Save yourself some money and go to an Oil change place that follows manufacturers recommendations.

We took our Sonata in for regular service (oil/filter) and the suggestions that came back for extra items that needed to be taken care of amounted to about $1000 worth of work. These items were: cabin and air filters, brake flush and new brake pads & rotors. We rejected the suggestions so we could look over the items ourselves when we got home.
Air and Cabin Filters: Had a little bit of debris but the filter material itself was clean. Really no need to replace these at this time.
Brake flush - About time that this gets completed.
Brake Pads & Rotors: The tech measured the brake pads at 4mm which is approximately 35% of the original pad left. They claim minimum is 3mm which would have still left approximately 8000 - 10000 km before they would wear to minimum suggested replacement. There is a ton of pad left there and these are not needed to be replaced. The rotors are in perfectly fine condition, they are not scored/warped/worn. Decided to get a second opinion and the brake flush was the only item of action.

I'm extremely unimpressed with how we were treated but he staff at Hyundai. We went in looking for a used SUV, and found one that looked like great option, but were hesitant and wanted to think more on it before buying. The salesman encouraged us to put down a deposit so that no one else would take it while we were thinking about it, and promised us it would be "no risk" and we would get our entire deposit back if we were unhappy with anything with the vehicle. We trusted him, and put down the deposit.

We were then taken completely advantage of. We had decided that there were certain things about the vehicle that we weren't happy with (including them hiding the fact that it had been in an accident until after we had put down our deposit, among other things) so we went to get our "no risk" deposit back. They refused to give it to us for multiple reason.s One being that they had fixed up the SUV for us, and had ordered parts to fix it specifically for us to meet our deal. We argued that they would have had to replace those parts for the next buyer anyways, but they said that wasn't they case and they don't repair used vehicles for buyers unless they ask. However, when we first saw the SUV they told us they had already ordered the parts and already planned to fix it. There were so many other things like this that they told us, and the manager flat out called us naive and stupid for trusting their "no risk" promise. We trusted that this company would keep their word, and we were taken advantage of. I think it's extremely sad that a company would promise a no risk deposit and then go back on it under every loophole they can find, and then call the customer stupid for trusting them. If this is how you run your business, I don't want anything to do with your business. I will never purchase from this company, or recommend this company to anyone looking to buy.

Bought a used vehicle privately and had it taken here for a pre purchase inspection,
upon completion of inspection was told all was good with vehicle except a ball joint had minor play which is no big deal. Following morning picked up vehicle (04 Santa Fe) and within 10 min of driving noticed rear differential appeared locked at all times when cornering, contacted South Hyundai and was told by service manager that must have just happened which is total BS. Next day took to a different Hyundai dealer and diagnosed with bad rear coupler, spoke with tech and assured me there was signs this has been an issue for some time and should have been found. Not impressed we brought a vehicle for an inspection here and would expect better especially from a dealer who should know the vehicle and common issues better than most garages

I bought a used infinity from Paul days ago. He was very nice and facetious. It didn’t take me very long to decide I will buy the car. The experience with Paul was awesome. But the problem was that the referral program of go auto is junk, there was supposed to be $500 for both sides if you are a new customer and your friend referred you which is advertised on go auto website. Southtown Hyundai refused to honor me the reward. They were just kicking the ball around between different departments. My friend who bought a car from Go auto outlets also was refused for the reward. I called Go auto customer service, they said whatever dealer says is the final say. Don’t trust the referral program, they just try to get you but the car and will give you nothing. They cheated the customers. If even the reward is only $2, but every customer is honored the reward when they should be, it’s right and respectful.

Recently I went to Edmonton to visit family. Upon arriving on a Friday evening after a 10 hour drive, discovered I had a radiator leak and would probably need a new radiator. "Oh Great, now what!" My daughter contacted Southtown Hyundai, as that is were she takes her vehicle for service (and now I know why). They were awesome, told us to bring my truck in first thing Monday morning. Yup they confirmed I would need a new radiator. They got my truck in to have the new radiator installed and I was on the road home on Tuesday. Can't thank them enough. I went to buy a car and was looking for either a used car or a good value new. The first thing that pretty much came out of the sales persons mouth was can we make a deal today. I pretty much sat down and listed off the cars I wanted to see. There was a car that has been on the lot for a long time and wanted to test drive it. As the test drive continued I told the sales guy that I would like to make an offer on the car and see what the manger would let it go for since that it’s been sitting on the lot for over a year. He pretty much brought out an offer when I told him I wanted to speak to the manger regarding the price. He didn’t offer me anything different then what was on their web page. When I asked him to bring my offer back to the manager he pretty much laughed at me and said no. What is the point of barging with them and making a offer when they don’t present it to anyone. They just want your money and you then want your money when they offer their useless protection plans. It was the biggest wast of time. I will never shop there and would not recommend anyone unless they just want to hand over their money.

Their sale department on the other hand, thinks it's acceptable to call people at 5:30pm on Saturday of a weekend from a blocked number and interrupt people having dinner with their family. Emailed the GM and didn't get a response so what the heck, have a one rate review! Do you need your vehicle serviced? Go to Southtown Hyundai and meet Richard - he will have your vehicle booked in quickly and will keep you updated throughout the day on the status of the vehicle. He will be able to tell you at the very start of your appointment whether your vehicle has any recalls on it. Once your vehicle is finished Richard will e-mail you the bill, you can pay on line so that when you go to pick up your vehicle you are ready to go - he will even drive it up to the door for you!!
And Southtown Hyundai have loaner vehicles - your loaner will be a similar vehicle to the one you currently drive - so if you drive an SUV, that's what you get as a loaner - and they are free. You just pay for the gas you use.
I have been going to Southtown Hyunda for around 30 years now - they are wonderful and I would never consider going anywhere else.

I had an excellent experience at Southtown Hyundai. Was greeted right away by salesman Paul who was very laid back and easy to talk to. we went for a test drive and knew this is the vehicle i wanted(Lexus IS250). When we got back we started to go over numbers and everything went smoothly. then i was off to finance, i sat with Ana who was very thorough on explaining and walking me through my extended warranty.

Honesty and being up-front with a customer is important. My sales person, Patricia, was a pleasure to work with. Friendly, knowledgeable and professional really made the choice and process much more smooth. In any dealership, always fight for the right interest rates, extras and things you need and don't be pressured into anything you don't want or need. Shop around. But for Southtown Hyundai, I went in knowing what I wanted and ended up leaving with a better choice, with the options (financially and vehicle-wise) that I wanted so I was pleased. I also dealt with Doug, the finance manager which made that process easy as well. Overall I'd recommend doing business with them when looking for a good deal in new or used vehicles. I also want to point out that I received a loaner vehicle though-out the process of trading in my old car, ect which was a huge bonus. No hassles, just how I like it. Thanks guys!

Went in to buy a new car, should have printed out MSRP. Hyundai Accent 5DR Hatch

Compared many offerings and almost didn't end up at Hyundai because it was too expensive on paper.

Still ended up going to dealer on a whim, impressed with the car on a second viewing (shortlist before this dealer was two cars), bought it after negotiating. The price that was quoted we offered a lower price (by over $1.5k) and the dealer beat it! However, going back to MSRP at home, it was exactly MSRP! Could have done a bit better perhaps? But Hyundai usually has cars flying off the shelves - so overall good.

Well, we've had a long list of bad experiences at Southtown, but the current General Manager recently changed our perceptions of Southtown.

We had an oil change done way back in 2010 at which the mechanic forgot to put oil back in the engine. We asked that a note be made on our file in case something should happen as a result sometime down the road. That time did come early in 2014. When we went to Southtown there was no record of the note that we were assured would be made. We met with the service manager and were quoted thousands of dollars to put in a used engine with more kms than ours had on it (which was 62 000km). This prompted me to write a complaint to the Better Business Bureau. After the maximum time that the BBB allowed them, they did contact us to reach a resolution. The GM had a meeting with my husband, for the purpose of meeting us face to face. He turned out to be a really decent guy that was willing to apologize for someone else's mistake that was made in the past, an employee who no longer works there, and whom he's never even met. He decided to right a wrong and replace the engine with a new one at their cost! We found out that he was brought in to improve Southtown and that he had "cleaned house" in terms of the people who were working there. He's making tough decisions, on behalf of Southtown, to get this place a better reputation. If it hadn't been for this general manager's kindness and integrity, his willingness to investigate our situation more, we would have had yet another poor story from Southtown.

It seems like Southtown is becoming a more decent place to deal with...

Mitch Santiago was very helpful and very patient with me when i was there to look for a car, it was his off but he still accommodated me.. this was what "going the extra mile" really means..
