I phoned to ask what time they were open and if I could come by to see a 2005 Honda Pilot. When I got there (over an hour before closing time), I was told that it was locked up in the detailing shop. They ended up getting it out but had some story about a friend of an employee who wanted it but the manager was like, “I told him that I wasn’t going to hold it, since you were already here”. It was getting late so the manager said that if I wanted it, I could put down a deposit and test drive it after the weekend as I was going not going to be available for a few days. So my friend (who is a mechanic) does an inspection and finds about $2000 - $3000 worth of work needed on it (including the timing belt). During the inspection, all of a sudden the manager gets really rude and impatient and tells me that I need to test drive it now and decide now because he just spoke to the other person who wants it and will take it now (even though they are about to close). Although the manager agrees with the mechanic’s concerns, he refuses to do the work on it before selling it to me AND refuses to negotiate the price because he apparently has this other person who will take it as is. Then he got defensive when I asked him if the other person knew about the necessary repairs. He then told me that he hoped that I understood his position...that it wasn’t fair of me to expect him to pay for or do the necessary repairs before selling it. Oh, but it’s fair for you to expect me to pay for it???

I have been car shopping for a while and thought that maybe an actual Honda dealer might be at least a bit more up front and reasonable, but nope. It’s all a big money game. Don’t trust any dealers. I mean, don’t trust anyone really but especially dealers who try to convince you that their inspections are adequate.

And certainly don’t buy into their whole narrative about how they are an honest, family run business that cares. They are no different than anyone else trying to sell used cars.

EDIT: I see that they have now posted a new listing by a different person with a price increase. Be warned that if you are looking at buying this vehicle, it needs work that can't possibly have been done already. Also, I guess the person who wanted to purchase it changed their mind? (eyeroll)

Horrible experience trying to get my seatbelts replaced. Was spoken to extremely rude by 2 different employees, Harp and Chris Sjioquist. Was given the run around for days, given false information about my warranty being expired when I still have over a year left, and still don't even know what they ended up replacing due to lack of communication. There seems to be a huge issue with communication and information at this facility. Got my car here less than 2 years ago, had referred 2 people who bought new vehicles and now I'll never be back or recommend this place. Only reason I'm giving 2 stars instead of 1 is because William was great on the day the repairs were done and the mechanics were able to get all the work done in less time than I had expected.

Harp Singh was a breath of fresh air after a harrowing day....I had a tire blowout on the freeway after leaving my home in Vancouver, en route to the Okanagan. After determining that my tire could not be repaired, a replacement tire was difficult to locate in the time frame hoped for. Harp went above and beyond the call of duty, calling 7 different tire shops to source a tire for me, all to no avail. Despite the fact that he was desperately trying to keep me on my mission to make it to the Okanagan yet that day, it did not happen but not for lack of trying. This is an excellent example of an exemplary employee worth recognizing for his top notch efforts. I truly appreciate everything he did to help my otherwise disappointing day!

Dropped off my Honda Pilot for warranty work (2nd time in 2 months because of a malfunctioning AC) and A1 service and vehicle was left overnight to diagnose a potential leak.

Picked up the vehicle and leak wasn't found. However, random grease marks were all over the cabin (some marks are visible and some just end up on our infers), dirty passenger side seat (my wife always sits in the middle seats with our newborn), and a near empty gas tank (was 3/4 full when dropped off).

At this time, we cannot recommend this dealership for any service/warranty work.

We are extremely disappointed.

We waited for so long for our first car maintenance. Because of the corona we have to wait outside nowhere. And it’s been so long for their lunch time, seems like no one is working. This is very frustrating. They wouldn’t not give any approximate time for maintenance, making this process very inefficient. They r taking appointment and they said it’s the same drop off process for appointments, which means we have to experience the same wait time even with appointments.

Let me start by saying there is nothing I hate more than car shopping. I've never had a good experience...until this weekend. I was in the market for my first brand new car and I was set on the Honda Civic Sport. We had gotten a quote from Surrey Honda on the phone prior to going to Jonker but since we live closer to Jonker we checked the car out there. We were promptly greeted by our very friendly salesperson, Thomas Chang. He grabbed us a civic to test drive and educated us on all the features. I was instantly sold on the car! They also had the exact model I wanted on the lot to check out. When it came time to discussing pricing, Thomas helped me stay within my budget. At no time did he make me feel pressured or uncomfortable with this purchase. He made the deal happen though!

From beginning to end of the transaction, the staff at Jonker were amazing and made buying a new car fun and exciting! Thomas was an EXCELLENT salesperson and was awesome to work with. The finance team (Heather, Alishia, and Catherine) was fantastic too! They were patient with us and answered all our questions. The money spending part isn't fun but they all made this experience smooth and enjoyable. I wouldn't hesitate to come back here again when looking for a new car.

Bought a brand new car "out of the box" in 2017. Was called for a service when my vehicle's service minder said I have 85% oil life left. Declined the same. Now, every-time I go in, I'm told to get an A1 or B1 service or else forfeit my warrantee, even though I bring the vehicle in with no service minders, just for routine oil changes. My vehicle has 30,387km on it. Called Honda Canada to ask if I need to service this often - NO, trust your vehicle's service minder. Asked Honda Canada if it is true that my vehicle's service minder is no longer calibrated because I declined that initial service right after I bought my vehicle - NO, trust your vehicle's service minder. Asked Honda Canada if I will forfeit my warranty if I decline the service the dealership is telling me I have to do even though my vehicle service minder does not call for it - NO. So, buyer be ware, this dealership WILL try to coerce you into services you do not need!

The work the staff does is always fast and efficient.

I give 3.5 stars on the fact that communication isn't the strongest and I, as well as members of my family, wasted a lot of our time. On the day of my appointment I called and left a message advising Honda that I would only be able to do a routine oil change and not their B package, and if that was a problem to let me know. 5 hours later I hadn't heard from them so I went in to drop my car off, only to be told that I couldn't just do the regular oil change and had to book another appointment. I was annoyed that I wasted my time to bring it down, but as advised rescheduled my appointment. When I rebooked i asked them if they would be able to drop my husband off at his work with a courtesy shuttle and gave them the cross streets. They said yes not a problem. Then the morning comes and my husband leaves work to drop the car off, then is told that they will not be able to bring him back to work as it's to far. So then he is stuck waiting for someone to come get him and bring him back to work making him late getting him back to work.
If they would have said no they couldn't, it wouldn't have been a problem, but to say yes and then we don't have a back up plan was very frustrating.
With this all said, the work done on the car is a good job.

When I called to set up an appointment I felt a bit pressured to accept a service that I had already completed at another dealership. When I was firm on an oil change only, the clerk relented. When a customer states what service is required for their vehicle, a discussion isn’t necessary. I was pleased with Melissa, her manner is courteous and polite. Have been going to Jonker Honda for a few years now for servicing of my Honda Accord. Went today for regular servicing. I have known since my last service I would need new tires and was asked if I wanted to get that added on today. I asked about the tires and the person helping me could really not give me that much information on tire details. She tried asking the service person at the desk but he just referred her to where the tires are in the store and I was left there to look at the tires with no knowledge myself. Of course did not end up booking the service for new tires I felt there was a lack of customer service and knowledge.

This is our worst experience we have ever had for shopping a car.
My wife would like to trade her old car with a new one. She thought Insight should be good for daily commuters because of its good mileage. This was the first dealer we stepped in at a Sat morning, should be 23rd Mar.  

We did a test drive on an Insight touring. However my wife was looking for a regular model and we asked if there is any discount on the touring model as this the only model available at that moment. The sales guy, I don’t want to mention his name here, became unhappy and asked us to check with another shops if we want to negotiate on the price.
Wow…. I understand Honda is making good cars. But I don’t understand why we have buy a Honda. We did go to another dealer shop and traded a new car with a great experience in the same day. Honda, bye…

One more thing, do not be fooled by their $35 gift card for a test drive.  They won’t give you this at all, even showing them the coupon or the text like this. Avoiding this haughty shop is strong recommended….

I just purchased a really nice used Honda Fit from Jonker Honda and had a really good experience all around. I've never dealt with dealers before, and have stuck to private car sales on CL and through friends, and have been pretty skeptical about dealerships. However, here at Jonker I was able to test drive the vehicle a couple times, and negotiate a price point that I felt reflected the value of the car based on what type of car it was, it's condition, and on my research online. I came away happy with the price point, and assured that they were going to take care of me long term. They fully went over the vehicle from top to bottom and fixed everything that needed to be fixed on it, inc. putting brand new tires on it. I'm walking away with a car that will be very reliable for many years to come. Thanks guys.

I have leased or purchased at least 10 cars over the past twenty years and have not ever experienced such easy, transparent and helpful staff.
I came and met with Erik Jonker (Sales Manager) and told him that I am looking for a Honda Odyssey. He walked through different models and options and went over the pricing. Very honestly showed me his cost and margin. Surprisingly brand new cars have razor thin margins. He walked me through the lease and finance options and even advised me which options to get and not to get. Then told me that he will let me know when is finds the color and options I am looking for. I left sort of surprised thinking why would he not want to take a deposit or something. I checked two other dealerships and they were not able to match Jonker's price. About a week later I got a call from Jonker's finance office that my car is ready for pick up. I showed up signed off the paper work and drove away. Shawn did an excellent job walking me through the options of the car. Again the whole process was a joy. I can't wait to get another car from these guys. They are really EXCELLENT. Recently bought a used 2001 Dodge Dakota R/T from Jonker Honda. My entire experience, from receptionist, to Cliff in sales, to Ryan in insurance, to Shawn's guided tour through my new ride prior to departure, was easy and very positive. The truck was serviced and inspected by the service department prior to my purchase. A number of parts were replaced, and a fresh oil change done, with receipts and warranty included. It has been a week, and I can say this is easily the best second-hand vehicle purchase I have made. The truck runs essentially like new, and is not in need of any servicing. I would recommend Jonker Honda to my friends and would definitely consider purchasing another vehicle from them.

I have had a lot of experience with many brands and dealerships, and I have found Jonker Honda above average. I purchased two vehicles there and the sales experience was straight forward - sales guy Byron was easy to deal with and straight-up. Now, three years later, I have had a chance to use and observe the service department several times.

First, it is a very modern facility with all the latest high-tech preferred equipment such as Hunter road force wheel balancing and an impressive automated alignment checking machine, The shop is bright, clean and organized. I noticed while waiting for my vehicle that they checked and adjusted the tire pressure, even though they were just doing an oil change. Most customers would not be aware that they even did it, but I know that it was a valuable service they were providing - many people do not pay attention to their tire inflation.

A real test of the service department came when the vehicle was having a minor oil leak repaired under warrantee that required significant engine disassembly. Unfortunately, an error by the otherwise competent tech resulted in engine damage and the vehicle out of service for a week, The service manager, Katrina, did everything possible to mitigate the event. Jonker Honda of course repaired the damage and provided a rental car, but went further. They detailed the vehicle, gave me credit for the next "B" service ($350 + tax), issued a dealership lifetime warrantee on the engine, and other valuable options. It would have been better if it never happened, but Jonker bent over backwards to make it right. I appreciated that.

Mr. Jonker, don't lose Katrina - she is a rare find in the business. , , , and keep up the good work.
