I want to start with this is not the first time I have had issues with this dealership. I have bought a few vehicles from here on different occasions. I have been loyal to this dealership for over ten years. In this time frame I have been disappointed more and more each time I deal with them. I had a truck that needed to be repaired, they covered things up and made it look pretty but didn’t actually fix the problems.

This review is based on today’s service I have received.

First of all if your service department doesn’t start at 8:30 am, why the hell would you book a client for that time.

The service department is filled with rude customer service, a lack of empathy, and they don’t even offer any explanations that even make sense.

I put my car in this morning for 8;30 it’s not 5:22 pm and I didn’t receive even a phone call as to what’s going on with my car. So I drove down to pyes and spoke to the manager of service department. All of my concerns and feelings of disappointment and anger he literally gave me almost next to nothing as a response and his explanation was oh we book appointments at 8:30 but we don’t always start at the at time. I now don’t have a vehicle for at least another day.

The car went in the service department brake change it’s now been in the shop for 9 hours and it’s not finished. They said there was a seized bolt. I have never seen a seized bolt take 9 hours to be removed.

This customer service and level of or lack or professionalism is horrible. And when you go in and see 6 cars up on hoists and 4 mechanics standing around talking it doesn’t look very good to a customer who is extremely upset.

Who ever that manager is in the service department should be fired. He has no personal skills and didn’t seem to know anything except how to stare at someone with confusion.

Would give zero if I could. Service department is disorganized; cannot answer simple questions. Waited for service manager. I was told it is $40 to retrain tire sensors for my GMC. Called Andy's Tires - was told to come on in - we don't charge for that. I patronize Andy's and Hollis when it comes to my GMC, not Pye!

We are so impressed with the service we received at this dealership. Everyone was super friendly and went above and beyond to help us. We were travelling through and had truck trouble while pulling our travel trailer. They were booked solid for weeks but when I explained our situation she fit us in. They quickly got it on the computer and found the issue. They got it in right away as they had the part in stock. Everything under warranty. They even took us to a nearby restaurant so we could have lunch while they fixed it. Super people and amazing service!! Thank you Pye dealership and Allison and Bill for everything. You saved our trip!

Heading to Halifax we had car trouble and after searching for the nearest garage on our phone Pye GM was recommended. We called and spoke with Rachel who was amazing. She spoke with the mechanic who told us what to do to be able to drive the vehicle to them and they would work us in. This whole team was so courteous and over the top helpful and very reasonable cost wise. We knew it was close to closing time and you still went over the top to help us continue on our trip to Halifax (from Ontario) We thank you from the bottom of our hearts and are now back home safe and sound. I would not recommend bringing your vehicle to be serviced here.

I brought my vehicle in for overheating issues and got a laundry list of repairs recommended. Shelled out $2600 and waited 3+ days (due to various delays and "personal emergencies") only to have the same problems crop up again a few days later. Brought the car back and learned (after another 2 days of diagnostics) that the thermostat they replaced was faulty. The part was replaced under warranty, but I still had to pay another $400-$500 for the diagnostic and to have it installed. After the work was completed the engine was inspected by the head foreman only to discover that the head gasket is now warped because of the frequent overheating. Was quoted ~$2000 to have it repaired but refused because I have already burned through all my savings at this point.

Now either the head gasket was bad when I brought it in the first time, and it was missed/misdiagnosed, or the head gasket was damaged because of the faulty part installed in my vehicle. Either scenario is unacceptable in my opinion. Unfortunately for me nothing can be done to remedy my situation which is why I am writing this review.

The people at the service desk were fantastic and I don't blame them for any of this. I am concerned that at no point did competent mechanic take the time to properly diagnose my engine problems and now I am out $3000+ and still don't have a working vehicle.

I should add that had I known the head gasket was bad from the beginning I likely would of cut my losses and refused any repairs.

Save yourself the headache and go somewhere else.

My father has been buying vehicles from this establishment for years, and has been servicing here as well. After relocating to be closer to him and my mother, I’m very disappointed to see how a place so close to his hearts operates. My husband and I were in to have regular service on the vehicle done, I was disappointed to be sitting for a while in my vehicle, confused on where to go. There are two big doors with no signs explaining anything, and cones in the way of one of the doors? It looks like they are broken, but I found out it was because of covid (after i asked someone if the door was broke). When we were talking to the people at the service desk, it was quick and very loud. People were having conversations across the big loud garage and I could barely hear the men at the desk when I was trying to ask questions and get clarification on what we they wanted to do to my vehicle. It would have been nice to be aware of all of this and any extra costs before I came to the dealership. We are living paycheque to paycheque as I’m sure many people are right now and had I’d been aware of extra services before I came in I might have been able to afford it but now I’ll have to rebook to get the rest of my regular maintenance done. We were kinda rushed around because more people were coming in and the men at the desk were obviously very busy. It was very clear to my husband and me that they were getting more stressed. Mechanics were coming out and cutting us off to talk to them. When we left the dealership to wait I said to my husband I was happy to get out because I could feel myself get tense being there. When we came back to pick up there was plastic in our car - which I assume the mechanic sat on and used. which makes me question how often regular cleaning takes place and we could not rebook our next regular maintenance there because the booker was on the phone so we’ll have to call back, instead of her calling us. At the end of the day, I’ll take the extra 40 minute drive to New Glasgow to go to Herron Chev, and I’ll be taking my parents vehicles there from now on as well.
My husband and I explained this service to my parents, and they were in disbelief. They swore up and down on this establishment for years, but also explained that Gary Pye recently passed away, and said there must be new management because this has never happened to them in the 20 years they’ve been customers there.
Whatever the case is new management or not, i felt disappointed and let down when I left, and I had a good feeling going into it because our family has been coming here for years

They took truck out and found out they didn’t check my park light that is out which was one of the things they were supposed to check. So take it back in. Bringing out again and find out they didn’t check my engine light which they should and was important to me. So bring it in again. So here I am at 11:26 am still waiting. So please improve!!

The sales person was the best I had ever had she got the car I've been dreaming of and dealt greatly with my strong personality through the process. There was also a service center employee that stood out as well in making my horrible experience easier to deal with. The dealer overall is good, but the service department is their major downfall. I've spent numerous hours, days, gas and mileage going back and forth to this dealerships service center to get a few problems corrected or suppose to be corrected. To this date my issues haven't been fixed. I've contacted every manager and also the owner who got the vice pres to contact me, but that was a joke as 2 weeks later after being told my file was going to be looked at and a phone call back to try and rectify their wrongs. I still have heard nothing at all. I'm definitely escalating my issues to GM customer service which is impeccable in my opinion. The sale of the vehicle is one thing, but if you can't rely on a place to service the vehicles they sell not really much confidence you can have in that dealership in regards to buying anything from them.

(Edit) Was told that I would be contacted to discuss the complaint and have waited a year, so clearly they do not care about fixing anything within the business that causes customer complaints. Great way to show they care. I also believe that they deleted the reply to my complaint saying that they would be contacting me.
