Toyota will be bringing back the Highlander with a few new changes done to the exterior and interior design, features, and the powertrain under the hood.
The new 2016 Toyota Highlander will be getting a few new updates done it, nothing major. However Toyota has done a great job of making sure to keep all the key details on the SUV that drivers absolutely loved with the vehicle causing the SUV to only improve. The Highlander has been a great hit in the past, which only puts more pressure on it to increase its sales since they are already high.
The exterior of the SUV has a few changes done to it. The grille will br similar with a silver bar hovering near the top of it, holding the Toyota logo. The grille will be large and rectangular shaped. The headlights, which will be to the sides of the grille, will be connected by the silver bar holding up the logo. The overall shape of the SUV is very box-shaped causing it to look strong and tough. The rear view of the SUV almost resembles some of the Nissan models which isn’t a bad thing considering how popular and well-liked the Nissan SUVs are.
Taking a look at the interior designing, we can see Toyota has done a great job of making sure to blend the look of the exterior designs with the interior. This helps the vehicle have a better transition for drivers and passengers when entering the SUV. The two-colour choices Toyota has chosen is also another great idea since the end product of them look magnificent. The centre console looks a bit too dense and complicated, which may not be too pleasing for some drivers. However it will be convenient with the screen since it will be controlling the navigation, audio, and Bluetooth. The material used for the dash board and seats were also another nice touch by them. In terms of space, the Highlander offers ample room for both drivers and passengers. This feature is essential nowadays as a lot of new cars are deciding to use their excess space on other things.
Under the hood, we can see Toyota uses a 3.5-litre V6 engine which will be able to push 270 horsepower and 248 pound-feet of torque. They will also be offering another engine which will be a 2.7-litre four-cylinder engine which will be able to push 185 horsepower and 184 pound-feet of torque. Both engine will be powered by a 6-speed automatic transmission. In terms of fuel efficiency, the first engine will require about 12.4 litres to drive 100 kilometres in the city, and about 11.2 litres to drive 100 kilometres on the highway. The second engine will require about 11.8 litres to drive 100kms in the city and about 10.7 litres to drive 100kms on the highway.
The 2016 Toyota Highlander is a great SUV and it will be able to cater to a lot of drivers out there. Especially if they are SUV drivers, they will be able to appreciate what this vehicle really has to offer. From details in the exterior and interior designing, all the way to the performance the engines will be offering, the Highlander will be able to meet all expectations by reporters and everyday-drivers.

|Power and Performance:|
The 2016 Toyota Highlander offers four-cylinder, V-6, and Hybrid models, with a choice between front-wheel drive and all-wheel drive for much of the lineup.
And across that lineup, the Highlander has some similar driving traits: it's smooth and generally fuel-efficient, but nothing to get all that excited about.
We do have a favorite among them, and it isn't the expensive (and heavy) hybrid V-6 model.

|Interiors and Special Features:|
The 2016 Toyota Highlander continues with a look that's perhaps a little more SUV-influenced at first glance, yet far softer inside, and with respect to the details, than this model has been in the past.
The Highlander remains in the gray area between SUVs and more rakish crossover wagons from the outside, but it's definitely closer to a truck look, with the maw-like grille and in the exaggerated wheel wells and sills. The shift plots it closer to the off-road-centric 4Runner in profile, and there's an SUV-ish style that runs exactly opposite to the trend in most other big crossovers (such as the Hyundai Santa Fe, Ford Flex, and Chevrolet Traverse).

The 2016 Toyota Highlander aims to be a great family vehicle, and based on a look at its safety feature set and crash-test results, it's achieved that goal.
The Highlander includes a total of eight airbags, as well as a standard rearview camera. Hill-start assist is also included. Thanks to repositioned pillars and bigger rear-quarter windows, outward visibility has improved in the current generation of the Highlander.
