Full Review

The 2016 Honda Civic Sedan has always been a reliable car for many, but now it is more than just reliable. With the new improvements made to the safety features, overall performance, and looks, this sedan is one you don’t want to miss out on. Even though every year the Civic seems like it is impossible to top for the following year, Honda does the impossible and makes an even better model with improvements drivers usually never even think of.

The exterior of the car looks very sleek and stylish. With a bunch of new indents and curves made all over the sedan, the vehicle is given a sportier look then before. The grille is identical that what it was last year, which is a thin grille accompanied by a silver bar that runs through it and the Honda logo. With the silver bar curve downwards, it almost looks like the sedan is smiling at its surroundings giving it a very friendly look. Next to the grille are the headlights which also look very identical to the previous year’s model. They will be powered by LED lighting enhancing its sporty look. The rear end of the car will also be similar to what it was before.

The interior of the Civic is very well made, especially since Honda has done a great job of creating a perfect transition for drivers and passengers when they step inside the car. The centre console is very user-friendly as it always has been, with functions that are clear and visible for drivers to see when driving. The infotainment system is very useful as it controls most features drivers need at an accessible range when driving. It is able to control the audio, Bluetooth, climate control, and navigation system. The material used for the dashboard and seats aren’t the best but they are good enough, especially for the price of the car. In terms of space, the Civic has a lot of it when it comes to leg and head room for both drivers and passengers.

Under the hood, Honda uses a turbocharged 1.5-litre four cylinder which is able to produce 167 horsepower and 191 pound-feet of torque. The engine is powered by a 6-speed manual transmission and runs through all wheels on the sedan. In terms of fuel efficiency, the Honda Civic only requires about 5.9 litres per 100 kilometres driven on the highway and 6.9 litres per km driven in the city.

The 2016 Honda Civic is a great car for a lot of different types of drivers out there. It has it all with a somewhat powerful engine, sporty look, intense safety features, and spacious interior. Another benefit of this vehicle is that Honda is starting to make their models resemble their Acura models, which is great for Honda owners since they are paying much less and are getting to look just as good as Acura drivers.

Power and Performance:

When the new Civic arrives, it will offer a 2.0-liter naturally aspirated four-cylinder engine in base models while higher trims will be available with a new 1.5-liter turbocharged VTEC engine. Transmission options will be a six-speed manual or a CVT, while Honda says the new Civic should handle better than its predecessor thanks to a loss of weight.

Interiors and Special Features:

Leaked patent drawings already reveal the new look of the sedan’s exterior but these latest spy shots give us a first glimpse at the interior. It appears that the general layout of the cabin will remain the same as in the current model, albeit with the two-tier instrument cluster of the current model replaced by a more conventional single-cluster design. There are also more buttons on the center console and the infotainment display screen is now located below the central air vents instead of beside them.

Safety features:

The new Civic will also target class-leading levels of safety performance and will offer the Honda Sensing™ suite of advanced safety and driver-assistive technologies, including Lane Departure Warning, Forward Collision Warning, Multi-Angle Rearview Camera, Adaptive Cruise Control and Honda LaneWatch™, along with Honda's next-generation Advanced Compatibility Engineering™ (ACE™) body structure.
