Quick Look

The 2016 Chrysler 300 is a modern and incredibly attractive full-size luxury sedan, perfect for anyone looking to own a refined car with diverse engine options and contemporary features. The vehicle hosts a ton of modifications made to the exterior profile, most notably at the front fascia which features a restyled grille and redesigned lower air intakes. As such, the spacious and laid-back cabin houses a variety of infotainment and navigational functions within the UConnect system, further aiding driving experience with increased engagement and assistant. Equally notable, however, is the fuel-efficient 3.0-litre diesel engine that produces 250 horsepower and 500 pound-feet of torque. Overall, this vehicle is great for luxury drivers looking to cruise in a relaxed and upscale ride.

Full Review

The 2016 Chrysler 300 receives some significant changes in this years upgrade, most notably in the vehicle’s outward profile which now exhibits sleek refinement and sophisticated poise. Restyled components adorn the front fascia, while the interior cabin benefits from a high-end vibe that manages to encourage a laid back cruising environment. Arguably the biggest highlight of this vehicle is the drivetrain lineup, which features two powerful engines and a diesel option for exceptional fuel economy. Competing with other models in the full-size sedan range like the Chevrolet SS, Dodge Charger SRT/Hellcat and Ford Taurus SHO, the new Chrysler 300 boasts all-around luxury, style and ease.

The new Chrysler 300 features an evolutionary and contemporary outward appearance that brings new style and allure for an overall attractive persona. Adorning the front end is a slightly larger grille with a different mesh-type pattern, as well as redesigned lower air intakes that are available with chrome accents or black surrounds. At the back, however, are new LED taillights and reshaped rear bumpers that feature sleeker lines and a slightly lighter, more laidback look for a full-size luxury car that boasts refinement above all else. Overall, the brawny square-shouldered yet sleek look is retained with small modifications made here and there.

Seating five, this vehicle's interior definitely reflects its outward profile, presenting smooth curves and organic shapes that could only be expressed freely in a high-end vehicle. The interior with black plastic at the base level is upgraded to two-tone leather upholstery wood trims and metallic accents in higher trims. Nonetheless, space and comfort is endorsed throughout the cabin as all occupants are provided with plenty of legroom and headroom for an overall relaxed driving experience. Ambient lighting further sets the tone of the vehicle’s upscale cabin, which also features the advanced Uconnect multimedia center on a 5-inch touchscreen display – making accessories like hands-free communication with Bluetooth streaming audio, smartphone/MP3 player integration, SiriusXM Satellite radio surprisingly easy to control.

In terms of power, the Chrysler 300 features three engines across four trims (300 Limited, 300S, 300C and 300C Platinum), including a diesel option for better fuel-efficiency and all-around enhanced performance.  Lower trims receive a 3.6-litre V6 engine that is offered with all-wheel drive and delivers 292 horsepower with 260 pound-feet of torque. Even more impressive, however, is the insanely powerful 5.7-litre V8 engine that produces 363 horsepower and 394 pound-feet of torque. This model offers less-than-stellar fuel economy with 17.7 litres per 100 kilometres city and 11.3 litres per 100 kilometres highway. The eco-friendly option to this gas-guzzling sedan is the 3.0-litre diesel engine that produces 250 horsepower and 500 pound-feet of torque. Standard eight-speed automatic transmission pairs with each of these drivetrain units for an energetic and effortless cruise.

Standard safety features include stability control, but optional features include Hill Start Assist, Ready Alert Braking and Rain Brake Support. There’s also a suite of active provisions such as adaptive cruise control, blind spot monitors, forward collision warning system and rear fog lamps for enhanced protection.

All in all, the 2016 Chrysler 300 is an incredibly refined full-size luxury sedan that combines a sophisticated outer profile with a genuinely comfortable interior cabin and diverse drivetrain options. For the buyer looking for a great vehicle intended for laid-back cruising, this is your best bet.
