The 2015 Mercedes-Benz S63 AMG is the manufacturer’s revved-up flagship vehicle. This luxury sedan belongs to the most prestigious vehicle lineup around, but it’s also highest-priced. However, buyers are unlikely to be disappointed by this six-figure purchase – it is money well-spent.
The 2015 Mercedes-Benz S63 AMG is the same vehicle as its debut just one model year ago. This super-powered luxury sedan is amongst the most prestigious vehicles in the Mercedes collection – and in this segment in general. The S-Class features some of the best cars available on the market and seems to strive to compete against Bentleys, when its segment already includes competitors such as the BMW 7-Series and the Audi A8. Mercedes has really left the competition in the dust with this build, introducing a powerful vehicle that does not compromise on any details. Those that can afford it will be opening their wallets at a chance to own a vehicle of this caliber.
The styling of the S63 is very similar to the rest of the S-Class, which is basically near-perfect. The luxury is evident the moment you lay your eyes on this beast, and not once does it disappoint. This car is a true blend of luxury, sportiness and elegance, all of which are highlighted in different ways. The S63 has a sweptback nature, but still manages to keep a tall profile. The chrome accents throughout the exterior add luxury, while the all-LED lights are a sign of efficiency. The Mercedes emblem sits atop the hood almost like an ornament, as if to say “with a cherry on top.”
The interior of the Mercedes S63 is even more luxurious than the outside. Once inside the cabin, there is no denying that this car is up to the caliber that Mercedes has placed it in. The attention to detail is unrivaled, build quality is impeccable and there is no shortage of soft-touch materials. The control buttons are unique to the Class, and it is clear that no detail has been overlooked to ensure a certain caliber of elegance.
Not only does this car come with beautiful design details, but more importantly it is comfortable. The cabin is quite spacious and none of the five passengers will complain as far as leg- or headroom goes. The leather-wrapped seats that come standard are great, but if ventilation and massage functions are attractive to you, the best ones are found in the Premium 1 package. Cargo space is also ample thanks to the 17-foot-long body at 16.3 cubic feet.
As far as technology goes, the S63 continues to blow its rivals out of the water with the Mercedes’ COMAND system, which is deemed the most user-friendly in the segment. This sedan features a huge, crisp central screen to display the infotainment features and cleverly-placed buttons.
Under the hood of the Mercedes S63 is the engine that gives this car its reputation and namesake. The 5.5-litre turbocharged V8 generates 577 horsepower and 644 pound-feet of torque. It comes combined with a specialized seven-speed automatic transmission and all-wheel drive. The S63 rips from 0-97 km/h in just 3.9 seconds.
Overall, there is really nothing that the S63 AMG can’t do. The combination of luxury, style and performance exceeds the abilities of all other classes and cars within the segment. If having a true luxury sedan is on your wish list, then try out the S63, but do make sure your wallet is large enough to afford it.

|Interiors and Special Features:|
The cabins of most flagship luxury sedans feel like bigger, fancier versions of "lesser" models, sharing a general design aesthetic and many control components. Not so the 2014 Mercedes-Benz S-Class. There is a clear differentiation between it and other Mercedes models, indicating that this is a special car that exists above the rest. Even things like the seat control buttons are bespoke to the S-Class. More importantly, however, there is an elegance and sense of opulence here that make it feel more like a competitor for a Bentley than a BMW 7 Series.
