2013 Kia Rio - There isn’t much not to like about the 2013 Kia Rio
The Kia Rio 4-door offers a one-of-a-kind look that separates it from the competition. It sports a 1.6 liter 4 cylinder engine. The Rio 4-door features a sweeping, coupe-like roofline. It has an appearance of movement even when the car isn’t moving. The 1.6 liter engine in the Kia Rio delivers 138 horsepower at 6300 rpm. It produces 128 lb/ft of torque. With a manual transmission the car has a fuel economy of 6.9 L/100km in the city and 5.3 L/100km on the highway. Fuel economy with an automatic transmission is 7.1L/100km in the city and 5.5 L/100km on the highway.
Even though the Rio is a small car, there is actually a lot of room on the inside. It features leather seats and is comfortable. The navigational system is outstanding. However the controls on the steering wheels are not the greatest. The Kia Rio handles well. You can feel the road and it is a lot lower than its previous model. It could use a little more power on the highway, but at 138 horsepower you can only expect so much.
This vehicle is comfortable to drive. The seats have a nice bucket feel to them. Steering is never a problem and you can control many of the options on your car from it.
The suspension on the car is solid. This provides a nice ride for someone that isn’t looking to spend a lot of money. The base model starts out at $13,895.
With the Rio you get LED turn signals. This hallmark of luxury is now a standard feature on Rio 4-door EX and SX models.
With the 2013 Kia Rio you get stability and traction control, front-seat side airbags, side curtain airbags and hill start assist. The Kia Rio has disc brakes all around instead of font disc/rear disc. As a result it has outstanding braking performance. The Rio SX will come to a stop at 60mph in just 110 feet which is better than what the competition has to offer.
Overall the Rio scored well in government crash tests. This will allow you to feel safe every time you drive it, knowing that it will get your family to and from where you are going without any trouble.
The Rio is extremely comfortable and has a lot of space. This is one subcompact that has enough room for people over six feet tall. No matter your stature, the Kia Rio was built to offer you and your family the comfort you are looking for. The outward appearance of the car will impress. It may not be a luxury car, but it does have a rearview camera which is a rare feature in this class and helps greatly while parallel parking. This car is great for taking on vacation with a 3.7-cubic-foot trunk, which is more than respectable for an economy vehicle. Lower the back seats and the hatchback can hold up to 49.8 cubic feet.
