The Newly Designed 2013 Ford Escape

The 2013 Ford Escape has a beautiful exterior to go along with a whole new design. Ford has implemented a one Ford policy. This means that the models they sell are the same throughout the world. The 2013 Ford Escape offers many outstanding features and gets excellent mileage.

This year’s model has a 2.5 liter base engine, which is the only thing that it shares with the old model. This engine produces 166 horsepower. The 2.5 liter base engine gets 9.5 L/100KM in the city and 6.3 L/100KM on the highway. The 2.0 liter eco-boost engine is an option available for the 2013 Ford Escape. The eco-boost engine gets 240 horsepower and 270 pounds of torque. When it comes to fuel economy, the eco-boost engine is virtually the same.

One thing to love about this model is that it packs eleven exclusive segment features. They include the My Touch Ford System, a cross traffic alert system, a hands free lift system, and front and rear parking systems. On the eco-boost system there are grill shutters that close while you drive on the highway. The cross traffic alert system helps to lower your chances of hitting something. It will alert you when a moving object is nearby while you are backing out of the parking lot. The hands free lift system is the most practical of them all. It is perfect for when you are carrying groceries to your car. All you have to do is to have your keys in your pocket and swipe one foot under the back bumper and it will open.

The 2013 Ford Escape is based on the same chassis as the Ford Focus. Power steering is accurate and easy to handle. This model is quiet and drives smoothly. The stiffly sprung suspension gives it a more performance oriented feel. One drawback to this model is that the back of the car tends to bounce around on rough roads.

With the 2013 Escape you get two new driving aids. They are torque vector control and curve control. These high end features will help to improve performance when driving. The torque vector control slows the inside tire using breaks, which will help the car rotate better. Curve control uses the breaks on all four tires and will slow down the car by up to 16 kilometers per hour if it feels you are rounding a curve at a higher rate than you should. It is meant to ensure your safety when driving.

This new model may at first appear smaller than the previous one, but it is actually the same size. Ford has added more cargo space to the 2013 Ford Escape. This model even has more rear seat leg room, which makes it an outstanding choice for a family of four. You no longer have to feel cramped if you are riding in the backseat on a long trip.

Overall the Ford Escape 2013 is a vastly improved car with better fuel consumption and new exclusive features. Plus it comes with a new sleek design which makes it look like an all new vehicle.
