If you want to know about the practices of St Laurent Volvo these days, just look up Better Business Bureau Complaint #14829945.

You may wish to think twice about either servicing your existing Volvo (other other luxury car) or buying a new car once you have seen what this dealership has been up to.

Having issued a formal complaint to the Better Business Bureau, this dealership has not even had the professionalism yet to even respond to the scandalous practices that has been going on with our Volvo since CAA dropped it off there on Sept 1, 2020 and it's now the end of October 2020! Ask the BBB about File #14829945 and be shocked!

It is my humble opinion that this dealership is a shitshow, and I would be highly sceptical about any positive reviews posted here based upon our experience which you will see in our very extensive BBB report.

These guys have even apparently even been ignoring Volvo customer service at the head offices of Volvo about our complaint to the BBB. Does this sound like the kind of dealership which you want to deal with?

After 4 new Lexus SUVs in a row - I entered the St-Laurent Volvo dealership expecting to confirm that I would be buying Lexus No. 5 – and boy was I in for a surprise. Within minutes of my arrival, I met Rick and Joëlle and knew that I was dealing with a ‘we wish to assist you without any pressure’ attitude. After three visits with Rick and Joëlle (interspersed with visits at competitors’ SUVs) where I had numerous questions about different additional options available for the 2018 XC 60 Hybrid (a most impressive ‘blow the competition out of the water’ SUV) and available financing options, I purchased my first Volvo, and first ‘non Lexus’ vehicle in over 15 years. Rick and Joëlle were friendly, actually quite funny and very knowledgeable about their products. This without doubt was the most pleasant vehicle purchase I have ever experienced. If Rick and Joëlle stick around, I will very likely be breaking my Lexus record for continuous purchases from the same manufacturer...

It felt like I had known her for years. She really went above and beyond to make the experience special. The rest of the staff were also great! Don't let the interior of the dealership fool you (yes it is due for some upgrades). The staff, especially Alicia, more than make up for it. They've made a life-long Volvo customer here!

Moved to Ottawa with a Volvo. Soon after arriving I got a flat tire and had my vehicle towed to St Laurent Volvo. It had to be towed as my model doesn’t have a spare tire. If I had to describe my experience with St Laurent Volvo in one word it would be ‘nightmarish’.

The service I received was night and day different from any other Volvo dealership I’ve been to. It is impressively poorly run. As my calls to the service department weren’t being answered I went in to speak to them in person. My car had been on their lot for almost two days and they hadn’t triaged my issue, let alone ordered a tire.

I had time so I wanted to see how bad it would get. After three days I realized they wouldn’t get the job done without constant pushing. I went in again and gave the service department the make, model, and size of tire to order. I also gave them a 24 hour time limit to finish the job before I’d get a roadside replacement done in their lot from a local tire shop. Fortunately this was the push they needed to get the job done.

I recently needed a 35k service and opted to go to Montreal instead of dealing with either of Ottawa’s Volvo dealerships. Based on what I had learned from a Volvo meetup that Carling is a similar experience to St Laurent. My planned go to for emergency service is now Adria Motors on Bank Street (They specialize in Volvos).

In normal Volvo dealerships (read: not the two Ottawa locations) the service is great. Service is done in a timely matter, customers aren’t treated like and inconvenience, and you get the feeling the staff and service techs are competent. You don’t get this feeling at either of the Ottawa Volvo shops.

My recommendation is for anything you need to be done through a Volvo (warranty), just skip the aggravation and drive to get your service done in Montreal. For regular stuff go to Adria Motors on Bank Street.

I have shared my feedback with a relationship manager at Volvo corporate I had dealings with a few years ago. It is clear the brand is trying to shift from premium to luxury. He didn’t speak about St Laurent specifically, but said they are aware some dealerships are not meeting corporate expectations and they are actively working on it. St Laurent Volvo’s staff and management need a ton of work. In the meantime they should shutdown for a day and go visit almost any other Volvo dealership to see how things are supposed to work.

Very bad dealership. Salespeople bad, service desk at this dealership is godawful and I would never EVER buy another Volvo again. I 100 percent agree with the other poor reviews. The manager of this Service department Jason-something is a thoroughly unlikeable chap. My daughter found him to be not only unfriendly, unhelpful but creepy as well. And I agree with her! What on gods earth is wrong with this place?!?!

I went here twice already knowing the XC40 is the car I wanted to buy. First I spent 30 mins waiting for a salesman and then left. Second time I spent 15min waiting. During that time I read these reviews and realized I was making a mistake. Even if I got the car of my dreams it sounds like it comes with the service of my nightmares.

I may consider Carling Volvo but probably will go with BMW X1 or Audi Q3.

Very poor, unreliable, doubtful service. Front desk does not return calls on time or never even when important or asked to. Estimates and repair requests are not respected. Significant changes are made without requesting permission first. Diagnoses are often wrong in terms of root causes resulting in multiple repairs, despite indicating from the beginning there was an obvious mechanical problem that needs to be diagnosed the traditional way and not via computer diagnostics. Lacking expertise and trust. Buyer beware. Consider elsewhere.

It is very sad, but I will have to give up trying to make it work with them, and start going to the other Ottawa dealer. I hope they are better.

It is the first time I ever right a review concerning a service that was provide to me. I wrote this review today to save people from the horrible service i experienced at Volvo St-Laurent. It all started when i had alternator problems. I brought in my car on an appointment and didn't get any news until closing where I called because I never had any update all day. They told me they did't have time to take a look at it. That's fine, the next day same thing happens, I call them at closing and ask them why is my car not ready. They made up an excuse saying they didn't have time. The next day comes, they finally call me and tell my car is ready.Few weeks later my alternator belt started to make a lot of noise. I wait a few weeks hoping the belt will tightened up, but with out luck. I call Volvo St-Laurent and make an appointment to get my winter tires installed and verify on the belt. Three weeks later I bring in my car in for my appointment and leave it for the day. Four o'clock comes and I don't get any news. I call Patrick the person responsible for parts and service and he tells me they didn't 'have time to take a look at it. I urge Patrick to get he car done before closing considering it was there since 9am and I need the car to go to work next morning. I call back at 5pm and Patrick tells me the car is ready and would need a new belt. I am a little angry because before i brought in the car for the alternator the belt wasn't making any noise. Now they wanted to charge me another 500$ to go back in the car and change the belt that they should of changed at the first place when replacing the alternator. Patrick tells me to come and pick up the car and tells me the winter tires were installed and the belt could be done another day. I show up to to pick up the car and the summer tires were still on the car. I wish I was making this up. I've never experience such an horrible service in my life. Hope i save you some time by avoiding to go there.

Not always courteous, in fact rude with customers at times. Price gauging: charging 4 hours so do a diagnostic test. Their solution is to Replace parts at 2000.00 per visit and see if it solves the problem. Considering not buying a Volvo again.

I have my vehicle at St. Laurent Volvo for repairs... mechanic has destroyed the engine and asked me to pay $10,000 to replace it. Now, they don't let me take my vehicle away for repairs and demanding money.

I sent the tow truck to move the vehicle from their premises and they did not let me take the vehicle away.
