We made an appointment about 3 weeks ago to test drive a car and spoke to a guy named Riley. We went in today, was told the Riley doesn’t work there anymore after 2 weeks, fair and fine, it happens, but that’s not my problem that there was no hand over take over. The salesman I talked to, Lorne, did not apologize for the mix up or inconvenience, made it seem like it’s normal and was more of my problem. The car we were told we could test drive, apparently it was never there. The customer service was really poor. And honestly I am disappointed, I expected much better from Toyota. My wife and I wanted to change both our cars. I know there’s a shortage of cars but we could have at least been offered to sit down in the office and see what we could do. Even took a day off today for this appointment.

Kevin is the bomb. A no nonsense approach. Let's face it, we are no longer living in the days of yelling at people period. Put yourself in their place?
The majesty of the longtime knowledge and expertise is almost retired. So you new comers need to be patient as well, with us longtime product buyers.
Great guys

An appointment with Prince George Toyota to have my out-of-province vehicle inspected. Coming from out of town, I drove just under two hours to attend the appointment and was told by the Service Advisor that they had run out of the ICBC inspection tags and therefore could not conduct the inspection.

The Service Advisor recognized the situation and was apologetic of the fact that they had likely run out of the ICBC inspection tags between the time I scheduled my appointment and the time I went in. However, it was very disappointing as the trip to Prince George was specifically made to get this done and nothing was done on the Service Department’s part to notify customers of the inability to complete the task.

I will say that I was pleasantly surprised to get a phone call when the tags eventually became available and was able to get the inspection done without further issues, but the initial and first experience with this dealership was not a positive one.

Amazing Dealership! I had been looking for a RAV4 for a while and spotted one at another dealer, and then the fiasco started, outright blatant lies and fabrications. I got fed up called pg toyota and Lorne, helped answer all my questions so I went in to see him. We discussed trade in options, what Rav4 I wanted and how long the wait was for a hybrid. We found an SUV, that was perfect for us, great trade in value, and the whole process was efficient and quick.
No insane dealer markup like other places, honest and transparent and a great dealership to buy a car from.
We love our Rav4 Trail, and plan to drive it for many years to come. Thanks everyone.

I have been using Northern Toyota for my servicing of my Toyota fleet. Have been happy up to now. I went in to get a set of wipers for our 2019 Tundra....$95 for the set....I said I beg your pardon. Parts person told me they are special wipers....We all know there is nothing special about them, other than they cost way too much. I can get a set of Bosch Blades from Chieftain that fit the truck for $12.95 each. BTW, bosch makes the blades for Toyota. This will make me second guess my parts purcahses from this location in the future. I suggest you do your research before buying parts here. OEM is no excuse for this much price differnce.

We have been dealing with a vibration issue on our 2013 Sienna for 3 years now, and have tried purchasing aftermarket wheels to correct the problem to no avail, we decided to switch back to OEM wheels and the recommended Michelin tires. Finally all of the vibration is gone, and the service crew did the job almost a week sooner than they scheduled. Very happy with the work, Nathan in parts was awesome, Kevin (i think) in service was fantastic, and whoever balanced the tires... you are a legend. I am very fussy about my tires and you did a nice job getting them balanced . Thank you. Such a great job!

I had the best buying car experience at prince george toyota. Their team is caring and patient especially Gary. He is super professional. He spent time with me went through all the features in my new sienna. Also, he put notes on the car menu which you will never found one sales specialist did that before. Moreover, full list of service price up to 5 years for reference.

Thank you so much team Prince George Toyota. Thank you Gary. I will order my other car from you guys again!

Purchased my 2021 4Runner here. I don’t have any complaints with that experience. However after my experience with bringing it in for its first service. I will not be back for any service here. Nothing to do with the customer service as the issue pertains to the maintenance schedule I’m told to follow and the $$$ for every 8000km. That is daylight robbery for a brand new vehicle that is probably one of the most reliable vehicles on the planet. I understand that is what probably Toyota sets as a standard but perhaps educating your customers about needing to spend hundreds of dollars for checking wiper blades, lights, horn and floor mats? Maybe you did more but definitely wasn’t necessary as it’s wasn’t even oil change. You all seem really nice but this isn’t going to work for me.

I bought a Toyota Highlander from out of province. I called the dealership on Monday and the receptionist was quite rude when I advised that I needed to make an appointment for a recall. She asked if I wanted to wait on the phone for the service department or leave a message. I chose to leave a message. I left a message and did not receive a call back so, after several hours, I called back. The same receptionist answered, still no sunny disposition. I was put through to the service person. I told him my story and he says to me that if it was booked in for recall in Alberta, than I would have to go back to that dealership. I advised that I was told I could take my car to any dealer to get it done. He stated that if the part is at another dealership they would have to do it. He never offered to request to have the part shipped to this dealership to have it done. He said he was going to check with another person at the shop and get back to me. It is Thursday and I have yet to hear back. Poor customer service. If I could get my car serviced where I bought it I would. Disappointed in this Toyota. I was hoping that my experience at Toyota in Alberta would be the same here.

We spotted a used car my wife wanted to test drive today and she was treated pretty poorly by a sales person named Lorne just because she had a budget for a vehicle. Once Lorne knew he wasn't selling her a new Toyota he wasn't interested in even being pleasant. We had recently taken our other Toyota into the shop and had a good experience but not with Lorne. Definitely will not be buying anything from here ever.

Brought my 2020 tundra in for its first service and to have remote start installed. Was quoted 3 hours and that I would be called when it was done. I ended up calling after 6 hours to find out it was finished and they just hadn't contacted me yet. Remote start was installed incorrectly; it sets the security alarm off unless left unlocked. Contact them the following day, they get me to bring it back in, then taxi me back to work. I get a call saying its all good to go now and they checked to make sure. First thing I do when i get there is que the remote start, alarm goes off. No solution or restitution offered other than ok we will drive you back to work and see if we can fix it. Extensive amount of time wasted by their poor business practices, and still no solution.

Everyone I spoke too warned me about this place but I thought I would support local and form my own opinion. Believe me it is only a matter of time before you get burned by Prince George Toyota. As many others have mentioned the service department is dishonest. Taking your business elsewhere will be the smartest decision you make.

A big THANK YOU to the service department for helping me out after I accidentally locked my keys in the trunk of my rental car. I was in town for the week on business when the mishap occurred - BCAA got the door open but the key and my wallet were locked in the trunk with no accessibility from the back seat. I had it towed to the dealership and they were able to fit me in their busy schedule and get me back on the road again without losing too much time of my work day. On top of that, they billed me a very modest charge!
Thanks again for helping a traveller out of a bind. They’re a top notch team at PG Toyota service!!

Terrible customer service. Both the service and sales manager brush off customer concerns.

I bought a brand new Rav4 through them and used them to do all of the servicing on it. While it was there for servicing they crashed it into a hoist and called to tell me it was 'just a bump' but they were going to take it right to the shop for me. I went to the shop to see it and the damage was very extensive. It was not just a bump. Yes, they paid to fix my car but offered me nothing else for my hassle of owning a mobile business and not having my car for 2 weeks. The least they could have done is given me a free detail.

2 months later my car was in an accident and totalled. I decided to give them a second chance and went in to purchase another brand new vehicle from them. We asked if they could give us a deal on a new vehicle or discount the tow package we were going to put on it since they crashed my last car and lowered the write off value - we were told no and told that the sales department is completely separate from the service department and they don't work together.... Uh WHAT?! Still, we gave them another chance... We found the perfect car, got a quote and went to do the financing. The finance employee had a higher number than what we were quoted so we asked where the extra money was coming from. Instead of going through it step by step with us to explain it he argued with us for 5 mins before realizing that he had in fact added on an option to the package that isn't even an option for the type of vehicle we were buying. Had we not questioned him on it and been insistent we would have paid for it. Then there were even more costs added on to the price because it was a floor model - despite none of these being on the features list or the quote. The sales manager shrugged us off and offered nothing to help with this and expected us to pay the extra $1500. So we walked out and ordered a vehicle from a dealership out of town.

I got my new vehicle and there was a manufacturer defect in it. Toyota said I would be able to take it in to any dealership to have it dealt with asap. Took it to PG Toyota (so stupid, I should have known better) and AGAIN was shrugged off. The sales manager offered no solutions for me other than "we can see it in a month". The paint just needed to be inspected to see if the defect could be polished out or if it needed all new paint - THAT'S IT! I called Quesnel Toyota and they immediately had me take it to an autobody shop in PG and when the shop said it would have to be painted not polished they immediately got the ball rolling. This didn't effect the service department AT ALL at Toyota so I don't understand why PG Toyota could not have given me the same service. The sales manager instead gave me very cold service, didn't offer to even look at the schedule in a chance they could fit me in, didn't offer to call me if there was a cancellation, didn't offer ANY solutions, didn't allow me to take it to an autobody shop to have it assessed.

Shame on you PG Toyota. I refrained from leaving a bad review for MONTHS as I don't want to be 'that person' but this was the last straw.

When you bring your vehicle to a service department for a repair, service, recall or campaign, the expectations is they should communicate any noticeable issues and suggest further inspections. If there's a pending campaign or recall, they should advise of these and suggest an appointment should be made for this outstanding work.
If you bring your vehicle to a Toyota Dealer Service Department, they will not communicate that a campaign on your cracked frame is pending and that your vehicle should be booked for an inspection to ensure it is performed during the warranty frame replacement alloted time period.
This dealer refused to communicate this campaign and advise that my frame was cracked. This information was provided by an independent NAPA Proshop auto service department.
Now Toyota Canada is denying the claim saying the vehicle was not inspected at the dealer during the alot period of time.

I had an expected O2 sensor fail. Toyota charged me $1200 for the replacement because they had to replace the manifold plus the parts. I asked them if they could replace all the O2 sensors, however they refused. Months later, the second O2 sensor came on... Another $1200 and wasted time. What frustrated me the most was after expressing thoughts and coming back to pick up the vehicle, they were able to adjust the unit price and finish the job an extra 2 hours early to save me money, which made me question what price and time standards do they operate by?

With all my repairs (antennae, dash board lights, two O2 sensors, 4 oil changes), I received points towards a carwash ($1,000 dollars spent at Toyota for a $75 dollar detail) I understand that restaurants use point cards for tracking, but you must keep in mind how much money is accumulated on a points card for just one carwash. It may be a 75 dollar car wash, but it took the owner $1,000 dollars just to reach this. In my opinion this is a terrible system overall for their customers.

I understand the O2 sensor failure wasn't the dealership's fault especially for a used car, and eventually I bought a new Toyota (which I may regret now in the future). The only reason why I would give this review any stars is because of Gary Barone, the Sales Representative. He goes the extra mile and remembers the small details to even know your name after 4 months; in which the Service Representative couldn't remember my name after 4 hours.

What prompted me to rate and review Prince George Toyota is what happened today. I had scheduled my first service and told them I had my car broken into and was missing one of my points cards. Toyota said they were no longer continuing the points card. As well, they were not responsible and could not look at older records (which I have been with them since moving to Prince George) and check how much money I had spent on their services. I asked if I brought my previous service records, if they could value this. No, with the $1,300 I had in points I could get one car wash and that was it. The extra $300 in points would be useless, the Service Representative said. Fair enough.

He then proceeded to ask me if I needed a shuttle. Yes, I replied. I was then told the shuttle would be 5-10 minutes. I waited over an hour in to my own work hours until I was approached by another employee to ask if I had been helped. I explained my situation, but at this point I was beyond upset. This person did not really provide a solution, but instead agreed that I should be upset (I was expecting maybe there would be a comment card?. Eventually, I decided to cancel the shuttle and arrange a personal ride. If there were unexpected delays, fine, but an hour is unacceptable and for the Service Representative to not check up in the lobby or even the shuttle driver to call back, check in, and mention that they may be stuck in "Prince George" traffic and that they have not forgotten.

I returned at the end of the day to pick up my car, of course without the request of a shuttle this time. Another service representative returns my card with the $300 dollars in points and says it's best to keep it so I can schedule a winter wash which may be redeemable with the points card. What they had told me completely contradicted what I was told originally that day. By this point, I was so disappointed with the customer service I received, the only thing on my mind driving out of the shop was to go home and thoroughly share my experience at Prince George Toyota.

When I showed up the next morning I was greeted by three different employees as I walked to the parts counter. My parts were ready and the order was correct.

Our salesman Maddie was AWESOME. He made it so much fun to purchase a vehicle. No pressure, listened to what we were looking for and our budget and was RESPECTFUL of our budget unlike other dealerships that we visited in the two days of shopping for a vehicle. We purchased the 2017 Highlander XLE. Introduced us to the team at Toyota and made sure we were comfortable with the vehicle before leaving the dealership.
