I really would not recommend Mazda. When I first bought my new car one of the tired blew (3 months of having the car). When I went to ask about getting a new tire they told me I would have to purchase it (fair enough) so instead I just got my winters on. When they were switched over the gave me back 3 tires. When I got my uncle to check the tires (his a mechanic) he said that I receive one with a huge hole. So when I returned back to the service manager to inform him I had 4 tires with one with a hole, I now received back 3 tires and one has a hole. The manager was SO unprofessional. I was asking for either the tire back or new one in return. He was so irritated with me he was telling me I was wrong and laughing in my face. He then expressed anger and his face was blood red. He then implied he was doing me a favour by giving me and new one. When all this was happening his desk was a mess and there was a pack of cigarettes just laying out. (I also smoke so I’m not judging his smoking but just the professionalism. I then a year later returned to inquire about trading in my car. The salesman who was meeting me was late. He then took 1 full hour to pretty much tell me nothing. However he was very sweet to deal with. My Bluetooth system has been broken and this will be my third time to bring the car in to get it fixed because the first 2 times they have not fixed it. And today when I called to inform about a rust check package the lady said she would call me back and I never heard from her. I feel as though the people at the Robie st location are unreliable And unprofessional. Which you drive off the lot you will never get the same service. Please consider going somewhere different. -From one very disappointed customer.

I've been a loyal customer, I've bought 2 cars in the past and have referred multiple friends to do the same.

I've experienced multiple issues with the maintenance department. However, I've decided they were not a "big deal" as mistakes happen, I'll just get another car.
After promising me a 2017 CX5 in a certain colour, they then call the next day and say they "were sorry, we looked into it, and there are none left east of Vancouver."

I then called another dealer, who found not one, but 26 of them!
Not only is the car currently in Dartmouth already, shipped from Quebec in 9 days, I ended up getting everything I wanted for less!

Moral of the story, shop around. They want your loyalty, but won't give you theirs!

I went to see Matt at city Mazda I explained the problems I was having with my current vehicle and what were some upgrades I’d like to make.

I don’t have the best credit and went to another dealer and was not happy with what they came back to me with and than went to city Mazda.

Matt managed to get me a HUGE upgrade and into a SUV that I absolutely love. All of this for a slightly higher payment than I was making on my previous small car.

I’ve been driving it for two weeks and have had zero issues and feel completely safe unlike my previous car.

A huge weight was lifted off my shoulders and Matt was extremely helpful to me ! I cannot recommend him enough. He is a family man and will go above and beyond for yours !

Purchased a 2020 Mazda 3 in July. While purchasing I was asked about winter tires. I informed Lloyd Negus that I had new 15" winter tires on rims from my old Mazda 3. He informed me that these would be fine. These are not fine, they do not fit the new 2020 rotors. So I called City Mazda to explain the situation, that I had been led astray and see what they could help with, let face it, everyone and their dog gets winter tires thrown into their new vehicle purchase, it's commonplace. I would have done the same had I not been told that the tires I currently have would work. City Mazda advised that I sell the ones I have on kijiji and purchase new ones. I guess what I am saying is, this is a classic horror story from a car dealership. Given wrong information to use products that don't work just to have you turn around and buy more things from the dealership. Sad really. So now here I am with no winter tires for the upcoming winter season. Fingers crossed I don't crash, thanks for the awesome service City Mazda.

I've been a customer of City Mazda since the purchase of my first car (a Mazda 3) in 2010 and now am on my second car (a CX-5 bought two years ago) - I've always had a great experience with them from purchase to after-sales service. Recently, they've implemented texting when you drop you car off for service such that they explain everything via text (which is handy in case you fail to take notes when talking to them on the phone).

They also now have their technician take a video walkthrough of your servicing, pointing out what work they've done and any issues/recommendations - what a fantastic feature!! It really provides a sense of transparency and honesty in their servicing, which typically feels closed off and unknown to me - so I very much appreciate them implementing this new feature!

City Mazda have always treated me with respect and kindness - their employees seem to care and are professional and I would certainly recommend this dealership to any prospective Mazda owner!

Sold us a car with the subframe not only rotted but broken. We spent 1500$ in shipping and this seller decided to be dishonest. Used car manager knew we were bringing this car to Toronto.. we bought the cars under his trust without seeing it.. yet was ok with us being unsafe as long as they got the money in their pocket.. we were left no choice but to find a shipping company to ship the car back to Toronto as we could not drive the car with the rear wheel broken out and out of place.. how can you even sleep knowing you can kill someone.. Be ware of crooks like this.. big money all gone to scrap. Thankfully we were smart enough to keep ourselves safe. That's where the car is headed too. Thanks for burning us..

Bought my 2014 Mazda 3 GS here last week, and I'm happy to say that I'm satisfied with the buy. Brendan, my sales rep, was fantastic to work with. He was patient, honest, and quick to note and fix any faults we found with the car.

The pricing, however, is a little aggresive, so be sure to do your research before stepping in. Everything is priced closer to what you will see elsewhere on the market, but the vehicles sold are well maintained to make up for it.

Overall, I'd say this is a dealership that emphasizes quality and reliability over cheap buys-- great for first time car owners.

I had trouble getting approved elsewhere, but I had already done my research and decided that I could afford a higher interest to improve my credit. I need a car to get to the job that will pay the bills on time every month, and they did a great job at City Mazda getting me a reasonable arrangement even though I was in a difficult financial situation. I’m very happy with my used Ford Fusion I bought through them! Most of the bad reviews are complaints about things outside of their control, which is refreshing. I have been taking my car here since moving to Halifax. Haven’t had issues in the past, and usually the service is exceptional and everyone is very nice. However, most recently during a hefty service appointment (no warranty), I was told my front brake pads and rotors needed to be replaced immediately (3mm) and that it was unsafe to drive my car, was then quoted around 600$ for replacements. Decided to take my car for a second opinion and turns out my brake pads and rotors do not need to be replaced until at least next fall/winter and that they are actually 5mm not 3mm. Will be cautious using services from Mazda that are not under warranty in the future, I feel taken advantage of. Usually, I feel very well taken care of here, this has been a unfortunate experience.

Their service department is abysmal at best. Aside from the they're unorganized and have a lack of basic Customer Service skills.

My car was in the shop for an entire week and they could not give me a proper explanation of what was going on - whenever I called in to ask for someone to tell me what was going on to my car and when they would provide me with a rental ( They eventually told me that I needed a new Transmission, which was covered under my warranty, but the transmission was back ordered and they could not provide me a rental until 10 business days had passed.. whereas Mazda Canada was telling me it was after 5 calendar days.) For days, whenever I would call in for an update, I was told that the person I needed to talk to was in meetings. When I would get to someone, their stories and excuses never added up so when I finally demanded an explanation on what was going on with my car and whether they're actually going to be providing me with a rental after 5 days per Mazda Canada's advisement ( this was day 5 of having the car there) - I was told that I was "Abusive and threatening" and they hung up in my face and in the end refused my warranty work all together. They couldn't even get their stories straight on why they cancelled my appointment - these were the reasons they provided to me in order:
- "you told Mazda Canada that you wanted to cancel the warranty work and go elsewhere" - I did not tell Mazda Canada to cancel my appointment, I asked if I was able to pick up my car and use it for work until the transmission was delivered to do the work, I was told they did not know if that was possible.
- they said they were refusing to do my warranty work because of my "abusive and threatening" manner. - because being frustrated about getting the runaround from a dealerships service department for 5 days and then demanding answers is abusive and threatening to them.

In the end after all of this mess, after I picked up my car from City Mazda (On Friday afternoon) - I called Steele Mazda in Dartmouth to see if they could take a look at my car - Without even knowing of my issues with City Mazda, and with very little notice - they were able to take my car in yesterday morning, give me a full diagnosis of the situation, provided me with a rental right away (they were estimating 25 days without due to the back order) and have already reached out to me today telling me that my car will likely be ready tomorrow, if not by the end of the week since they found a transmission.

If you want good service, and you want to have your car well taken care of - I strongly urge you to deal with Steele Mazda instead of City Mazda, they don't waste your time, they understand your frustrations and your troubles and they do everything they can to help you (with a smile).

Think twice before doing business with City Mazda.

Like all car dealerships, City Mazda is friendly and helpful before you buy the car. However, its a completely different story after you bought it ! After you have purchased it, City Mazda doesnt even have the courtesy, much less professionalism to reply to an email or return your call.

When I purchased my Piss pot, I mean CX-5, I was told that City Mazda will take care of the Permit and Certificate of Registration as part of their "5 Star Service" Weeks went by and I never received the Permit or Registration. When I contacted the dealer, I was told that it was mailed weeks ago and that Canada Post must have lost it. When I contacted City Mazda by email to inform them I never received anything in the mail, I was told the following: " You are blaming us for Canada Post? Sometimes no matter what one does to help it never works out".

I was then told by the Sales Manager I would need to drive to Access NS and try and fix this mess by getting the necessary documentation.

How IRONIC that I now have to schlep to Access NS to do what the so called "5 Star Service" was designed to do eliminate !!!

The car was not delivered with terms agreed upon, I have gone back multiple times with function concerns and no one seems to be returning my texts or emails. A simple oil change took 2.5 hours. 50 minutes just to move it into the service bay. This after staff argued with me trying to force me to get a $300 oil change instead of the $70 pre-paid oil change I had. Usually booking 3+ weeks in advance even outside of tire change seasons.

I have been told by other Mazda owners and even by a City Mazda dealership employe that this is a relatively common occurrence with my make and model of vehicle. Despite bringing this to the attention of the dealership, they refuse to take responsibility for their vehicle design defect.

I purchased my first Mazda in March of 2019, I had checked location reviews and spoke with friends before heading in to City Mazda. It has been the most positive experience in all my car purchases. I had done my research and knew which vehicles I was interested in checking out. Being physically disabled I wasn’t sure if I could physically see out of a particular model but was fairly confident of a second. After discussion of all my must haves we got in to the first car. Which was lovely but wouldn’t work. So without hesitation we moved on to the next vehicle on my list and it was a success beyond my wildest dreams. James was a great salesman. Ken and Brenda both stopped in to say hello and discuss why the first one wouldn’t work while the second one was being readied for test drive. They went above and beyond to ensure I was accommodated. The Mazda CX-5 is even better than I thought it was going to be. I love the freedom this new vehicle has provided me.

Not Impressed.
I have just moved to the area and needed to have my 2014 Mazda 3 serviced. In addition, I noticed a knocking noise coming from the rear right suspension. I brought this to the attention of the service staff. Whilst waiting for the service, I was told that the rear brakes needed to be replaced and that was "most likely" the cause of the noise. As I had replaced the rear left suspension just six months before, the sound was very similar and I told the service staff this.
However, nothing more was done and I was presented with a bill for the service and brakes. Within a day, I noticed that the knocking noise was still evident. I returned on 24th January (less than a week after the service) so that the service staff could investigate. They claimed that they could not find the problem. Again , I reminded them that the noise seemed to be coming from the rear right suspension. I accompanied a service member on a test drive and pointed out the sound. "Oh, that will be the suspension" he said.
It is both frustrating and worrying that the team of "Master Technicians" with "years of experience" could not find the fault on the first visit. It felt that, having sold me a new set of brakes, they stopped looking for the problem. In the end, it took me two visits to resolve an issue that ought to have been solved first time, by "professionals".
The Service Manager waived the labour charges as a 'goodwill gesture'. Frankly I would rather have had the job done properly first time.
This not really the level of service I expected from a professional dealer.

Dealing with City Mazda was absolutely delightful. They were welcoming when I arrived and took the time to properly explain the details of the Mazda3 I was looking for.
I did a bit of research online and thought I knew everything I was looking for, but after speaking to their experienced staff I realized alot of what I had read wasn't completely Accurate.
If you're looking for a Mazda Dealer in Nova Scotia with GREAT service, I strongly suggest giving them a try. It was a bit of a drive for me but definitely worth the visit. I'll definitely be buying our next car from them in the years to come.

I paid for extra warranty on my Mazda 6 a few years back and required warranty service as the car was burning excessive amounts of oil. They wouldn’t honor the warranty claiming I had not performed every warranty service on the schedule,....even though every service relating to the engine was performed. I produced several documents showing this was a common problem with that model engine. They totally dismissed it saying that applied only to American Mazda’s. Crooks. Would never deal with them again if you paid me. I went back to the salesperson who sold me on the extra warranty and they claimed it was out of thier hands. Mazda lost my business forever.
