Car Servicing

The tail light on my 2017 Sportage, which is still under warranty, has cracked due to a design flaw. It is Nov 19/19 and I have been waiting to get this fixed since mid October. I took pictures and sent them, then took the car to them to get their own pictures. The service manager was supposed to be there (I had an appointment) but he did not show up. The service assistant took pictures and agreed that this issue was indeed a design flaw and promised that I would get a call that day to confirm this...this was on Friday Nov 15th No call was received and I called on Mon Nov 18 to ask why not. Now apparently the matter needs to be sent for approval to Kia Canada. I asked that an email be sent to me to ensure that the warranty repair had been sent. Nothing... This morning, Nov 19/19 i sent an email asking for response and confirmation of the repair request. I have heard nothing. Meanwhile I am driving without a tail light and without a turn signal. They talk the talk but don't walk the walk and it is the customers that suffer.....not really sure what to do :(

I just bought a 2019 Sorento. Bad experience all around. Amateurish and dishonest. I was very excited to buy my first brand new family car, but:
1. Late delivery of vehicle and repeated deceitful information regarding the issue.
2. Failure to refund cost for rental associated with late delivery (as promised).
3. Late delivery of deposit refund, and to wrong address.

Getting basic service and information has been like pulling teeth. They are about excuses, not solutions. I will not be returning for servicing and future purchases.

My experience there was exceptionally positive because of Jim Prince, my sales consultant, who was genuine, down-to-earth, listened to my needs/circumstance, and showed me my options clearly and without any pressure or rush. He also was very knowledgeable about both the vehicles, various options, and finances. I went in initially to gather information, possibly test drive vehicles, and compare with another company's options. I ended up buying a vehicle from Jim later that day after comparing because I felt very confident I was getting an excellent deal financially, the vehicle was even better than I had hoped for, and Jim is an honourable, trustworthy sales consultant. Drove an hour to this dealership to buy a used car. After hearing repeatedly that it would be ready in a few days, i waited over a month for the car to be read and paid the insurance for a car i didn’t have. After, speaking with the manager Ash he took care of it promptly and even refunded our insurance payment for the month. Great public relations! Reasonable and easy to communicate with. If Ash wasn’t here, we wouldn’t be either.

June 23 I took a day off work and went to a Kia dealership in Toronto, and all I felt when I left was like my sale was worthless and not worth the time. I was nervous to go into another dealership, but talked myself into trying. On June 27th I went to meet with Stephanie Lawrence, who ended up being my sales rep. 5 minutes into talking to her she already made me feel like my sale was worth her time, and 5 more minutes got my business. After that she introduced me to the general manager (ash), who did everything in his power to get me exactly what I wanted and had it delivered in exceptional timing.

TERRIBLE EXPERIENCE. I walked into Kia on Tuesday to purchase a used car with a reasonable budget of $20,000. I was introduced to a salesman- who did not ask my name and advise he could not help me when my budget would not change. The website does not provide the cost of vehicles, so I was forced to converse with this person who treated me poorly, with such disrespect and refused to assist me with options within my budget. I was there for less than 5 minutes, however, the emotional impact of this experience was more than awful. I left feeling defeated, but I refused to allow this to prevent me from buying a car. I went to Hyundai and purchased my vehicle under my budget THAT DAY! Thanks Glen at Hyundai.

I bought a 2015 kia optima back in August and the roof has already started to rust. I brought my car in to get it fixed under warranty and when I received my car back the front bumper was badly damaged. I brought the service manager out to take a look at it and show him the damage and his response was "your bumper was scratched anyways so you had to replace it either way". If this is the type of snakes that work here theres not a chance in hell I would ever recommend these guys even to my worst enemy.

Ryan the sales rep that I worked with was great, he told me everything upfront and was honest about any issues or lack there of about the car I was purchasing. He also worked with to make sure that I was able to afford, based on my wants and needs, which was I needed. Dan the financier, was also very helpful, he didn't try to sell me on the extra's that I didn't need. He was very truthful with the financing process, and made it easy for me to know the value of my purchase. I never felt like I was taken advantage of due to my lack of experience of buying a car. Overall the staff at Bay City Kia were friendly and helpful, and I would definitely recommend them to anyone.

I'm writing this because when someone has a bad experience, that's the only time they'll share. I'm sharing my phenomenal experience with sales person, Ford.
The first dealership I went to was Barrie Dodge dealership on Dunlop. I felt like the salesman couldn't wait to get me out of his office because I was choosing a car that would provide me with the smallest payment. I left there wishing I had never gone in because I felt like my sale would not have been substantial enough to warrant his time. I will never go back there, EVER!
When I went into Kia and met with Ford, my experience was quite the opposite. Ford listened to my needs and deterred me from anything that may be out of reach of my budget.
I did not buy a car that day, but when I'm ready, I will be going back to give my sale, no matter how small, to Ford. Thank you for being a GREAT salesman that actually cares.
