I have never had issues with this dealership up until recently. I brought my car in over a month ago because the entire dash lit up like a Christmas tree just days before I was set to take the car on a road trip, they told me it was safe to drive and they ordered the part which is covered under warranty, I return from my trip just over a week later, I call to see if they got the part, no answer so I left a voicemail, no call back, I call again the following week and same thing. The week after my dad and I were looking in their lot and I inquired about a trade in, the vehicle I was looking at was used 2020 and the salesman showed me a car fax that stated the vehicle only had 24,xxxkms, when I got in to test drive the vehicle had 75,xxxkms (10k more than my 2017) when I returned I questioned the salesman who informed
me the carfax report was from almost 3 years ago! Why was I not provided an updated version? When I initially got in contact with the salesman I also asked if he could talk to service to see if my part was there as they were not answering their phones, he said he would but didn’t. I called him later that day just in case he forgot to ask them and left him a voicemail and never got a response. I called again today and to my surprise someone actually answered the phone for once, I expressed that this issue causes my car to not have any of the safety features (that I pay to have) and with more snow headed our way it needs to get fixed asap so I’m not sliding all over the road and having a higher risk of being in an accident, the guy on the phone said he would call me back about the part, no call back all day, which is irritating as it feel like I’m just gonna have to go out of my way to physically go there just to get answers. At this point I almost feel like voiding my warranty and going to my family mechanic because at least the service would get done and phones would get answered.

If I could give zero stars, I would. Purchasing our CR-V from Honda two years ago was great; our sales representative was very thorough and took the time to answer all of our questions. The SERVICE department has been an absolute nightmare to deal with. We require warranty work on our vehicle. We dropped our vehicle off at 8:00am and were told by 9:30am what the issue was. We were told to leave it there for the day as they may be able to get the work done. 5:30pm I get a call asking why I have not picked up my vehicle as I was cashed out hours ago. No, I was not - I did not speak to a single employee since 9:30am, nor did I go to the dealership. Then they didn't know where my "other" key went - the only key I gave them. The work was never done, and they couldn't tell me why. It's been 3+ weeks, over 10 calls to the service department with no answer and no returned call. This is by far the worst experience of any dealership I have been to. I would not recommend this dealership to anyone due to it's worse than poor service.

Grant at Gore motors is great, but I was sad to see he wasn't working as much last time I was in. What I appreciate about Grant is that no matter who you are he treats everyone with the same respect. He offers honest knowledge and fair solutions. I don't need fake smiles or lip service. I need truthful, fair people when I'm dealing with them. Grant is so easy to communicate with and it's refreshing.

I just wish Honda would go electric.

Just bought our first used CRV through Gore Motors. Looked for a car for months, finally found what we wanted with Lawrence at Gore. Lawrence was fantastic with us, he was kind, helpful and he is a pretty funny guy, too! Highly recommend this man. He even used his day off to help us get our car on the one day we could get to town. Thanks to everyone at Gore, the first ride home was great!

I went to get my brakes looked at because my front brakes are squealing. They said they were fine and they charge me $262 for looking. They’re squealing worse now. Who do I go to instead? I just feel ripped off! It felt like an old boys club. They seem to like talking down to the women as well.

Went in to get a spare ignition key. Ask them how much it would cost. They quoted me a price of a little less than a hundred bucks to get it cut and programmed. When it was done the bill was just over 220 dollars. They didn't bother telling me there was labour costs extra. It's like going in and asking how much it would be to replace the front brakes and they then quote you the price of the brake pads, knowing full well that it's going to cost considerably more because you have made an appointment to get the work done. In the end they did give me a 57 dollar discount and the 2 men I dealt with were even tempered, but the women I felt was rude. Not a pleasant experience. There is absolutely NO excuse for not giving the customer the full price for such a simple request as this, in my humble opinion.

Service has gone downhill, they closed the Honda Express service station.
So have to make an appointment for an oil change, and then they forget to do my vehicle while it sat outside all day. Then took them 1 1/2 hour to do an oil change when they said would only take 1/2 hour.
Very disappointed to see the express service closed. As this was a great selling feature for their vehicles.
Also referred a friend to buy a honda CRV, but the sales staff would not tell them when they got a used vehicle in on the lot. Forgot to return their phone calls.

I brought my cr-v in due to a noise I was hearing every time I’d reverse and turn my steering wheel at the same time. When I picked up my car, the noise was still evident and the recommended work ended up not being what my car needed. I emailed the owner Jeff W. about the issue. He did a full investigation and was extremely thorough. He took the time to go over everything with me which took a good chunk of time out of his day. It can definitely be intimidating having auto service done as a woman (from my experience) or someone who doesn’t have significant knowledge about auto mechanics. Thanks a bunch for putting the time and effort into sorting things out Jeff ! Faith in Gore Motors was restored!

$277 for changing the valve cover gasket..... seriously manh....I didn't expect this from Honda...... booked an appointment and gave the vehicle at 12 and getting a call at 3:30 saying that the gasket isn't fitting because of "manufacturing defect" of the new gasket and had to wait till next day and got charged for 2 hrs of labour..... Please show some mercy on people's money....🙏

Wow — incredible service!

I just wrote a big long review about Gore Motors, and our personal experience. And it didn’t post. So, let’s see if I can do them justice again:

We love our Honda Element, Ginger. And she had a terrible engine failure just outside of Wawa. We had Ginger towed to Gore Motors, and were incredibly well taken care of from Day One.

Grant was amazing to communicate with, and I enjoyed our biweekly updates. COVID meant a longer-than-normal Waiting Time for a brand new engine, but we didn’t mind. It was really clear that the team cared about the service they were providing, and we knew Ginger was in good hands. It was truly our pleasure to meet the mechanic that worked on the engine installation. We owe everyone immense gratitude.

We picked up our car a few days ago, and Ginger is running perfectly with her brand new engine. We have already travelled 4000km, and we are so excited that we will get another 15-20 years out of our beloved Honda Element. I am quite grateful that COVID vehicle shortages meant we got a new engine instead of a new car. Had I known getting a new engine was so affordable and easy, I would have kept our earlier Honda Element. “Ellie” had 400k when her engine failed, and she was sent to the scrapyard. A mistake on my part.

We are Honda Loyal, and the Gore Motors Team made that very easy.

On my way traveling to Winnipeg and the gear shifter knob popped out off my car in Thunder Bay. After a 15 hour drive I was worried. I managed to get the car in park and spoke with Grant at Honda the next morning. He was amazing and got us in and out quicker than the 1 hour he predicted to fix it. He saved the day, great place great service!

Honda customer service has disgraced their mission statement by ensuring that I did not get the “highest quality “ service and “ customer satisfaction “ in my case but a pitiful let down. My seat, even the headrest looked like it was used as a step stool . This decay in service is sad especially during covid when people vigorously sanitize everything, my vehicle looks unsanitary and dirty at the best. Pardon my rant but this is disappointing.

I just had a terrible experience at Gore Motors Honda at Thunder Bay for my very first visit(July 5). I went to make inquiries about my car remote which not functioning. I was directed to the service and parts department by one of the mechanics. However, I inadvertently entered the garage and this is where I had the detestable experience. As I work towards the service Manager's office, he frowned his face and he hurriedly his opened door and yelled at me that I don't have to be in here and virtually walked me out rudely. I overheard the mechanics who I spoke to earlier saying Sorry for that.. This is the first time I am visiting Thunder Bay and as such first time at Gore Motors Honda but this demeaning experience leaves a bad taste and memory and effectively kill any desire I have for Gore Honda. Customers need to be treated with respect and courtesy. It is worthy to note that the sales receptionist and Service and parts personnel were very helpful and nice. Managers who should lead the way are rather faltering badly on customer relation. It is a Shame and big thumb down!! This Manager needs to be talked to.

Terrible customer service during Covid. No shuttle so you need to schedule your own ride to have to wait outside in the cold while the staff has a meeting in the normal waiting area and closed to the public while they are noted to be open. Also key drop off has no pens to write on your envelope for dropping off. Terrible customer service. If you’re going to practice Covid precautions best to be prepared for other solutions. So disappointed

so I brought my car in to have a fob made and programed to it. when I dropped it off I clarified with the lady behind the desk (who was quite rude) that it was a fob being made, not a spare key, as that's not what I needed. I clarified this for five minutes, stating I need an electronic fob that I can unlock my car from a distance with, held up my own key and again clarified this was NOT what I was asking for and she assured me that yes it was a fob being programmed to my car not a key. later that day when I picked it up, instead of a fob it was a key they tried to hand me. I let them know this is not the service I asked for, that I even clarified several times not to do this, and requested my own key back and let them know I will not be paying for the spare key or taking it... to which I was informed until I pay for the work performed on my car (the programming of this key I didn't ask for) they will not be returning my own keys or access to my vehicle, and if I have an issue with that I can take it to court. im personally pretty disgusted honda feels its acceptable to tamper with vehicles then withhold them until their profit is made. wouldn't recommend this place if it was the last dealership on earth. theyre rude and don't give a damn about their customers, nor are they competent at their jobs. they'll scam you to make a quick buck and your money is absolutely better spent elsewhere. would give negative 5 stars if I could

They had my car for a total of 3 weeks& 1/2 weeks* for a repair that should have taken 6hrs. I even supplied the parts for them so that wasn't the delay. They wouldn't call me or speak with me about what was wrong with my car when I called until I went in in person. Ended up charging me close to what they originally quoted me with the parts even though I bought and paid for the parts myself.
* Found a vaporizer left in my car when I picked it up so pretty sure they were using my car as their employee vape room for the 3&1/2 weeks (no other reason given).

The only actually service I found great was the shuttle drive home.

If there was an option for a 0 or a negative rating I would have selected that. I bought my accord brand new in 2016. Salesman Jay was awesome to deal with. My wife brought the car in a few weeks later and talk with Grant about our ticking engine and he told her that a ticking engine is normal but he’ll make a note on our file (Which he never did). A few months after that the car was brought back in for a squeaking noise to which they changed the sway bar links but the car was there for 3 days. Shortly after that my wife complained about a broken seat. They pulled apart the seat and added more foam and put the leather back on but the moulding around the top of the seat was now exposed, the car has been back numerous times for the seat and the moulding keeps getting worse. A guy by the name of Jeff told us that it’s up to Honda Canada if they want to have the seat fixed properly. In our car we have 2 screens one for the gps and one for the info for the satellite radio etc, the screens went black in the middle of our drive, we took pictures so we could show Gore Motors and that awesome guy Grant told us it was just dirty and he’ll do a reset but the earliest he could do it would be in 3 weeks. Here’s a list of services we tried to have done and the excuses

Service - Wheel alignment. The excuse they couldn’t do it was because there was to many tires on the machine.
Service - Replace broken shocks. The excuse they couldn’t do it was because the hoist was broken.
Service - GPS. Excuse they can’t replicate the
problem but they’ll order parts.
These are just a few of the horrible interactions with Gore Motors.

I made a lower offer than sticker price on a civic as I knew the blue book value of the vehicle and the sales rep sounded offended and told me the best he could do is knock 300$ off what he printed out for me (way over the blue book value). He was rude and acted insulted by my offer and would not negotiate with me at all and as I understand some things are not negotiable there was no need for the attitude. I was also looking for a 17 or 18 and he insisted on shoving the print out for the 19 in my face anytime I asked about something older and cheaper. He then told me he had an 18 for me to test drive and still put me in a 19 and tried to sell me the 19. Pushy and rude.

Got me back on the road right away. My Odyssey was making a noise 1600 km from home. I was needing to get back in 4 days. There was the part needed was no where in Thunder Bay. These wonderful folks looked at my van the day I took it in. Flew the part in from Toronto and got me operational in two days. One group I checked with said they couldn't help, another said 7 to 10 days to get the part. Better yet Gore was like family to deal with and charged me about $150 LESS than the estimate I had agreed to. Never had that happen before. Oh yeah the Courtesy ride to where I was staying was a real bonus too. Super staff all around.
