I purchased a 2017 Honda Accord Touring that was a leased vehicle. One would expect the vehicle to be in good condition throughout after going through the extensive Honda inspection and certification process but it wasn't.

I had a problem with the brakes. The brake rotors had a severe rust problem that translated into the brake pads only contacting approximately 50% of the rotors which meant the brakes were not working the way they should from the factory. Trent Valley offered to discount the repairs, however because I had only driven the vehicle for 36 days since taking delivery I didn't think it should cost me anything. So I ended up taking the car to another garage and had 4 new rotors installed along with 4 sets of brake pads. The mechanic who did the work for me said that he would not have certified the car with the brakes in the condition they were in!

The sales department was great.

We had our appointment set up and the paperwork was ready to be signed with our sales man. As we arrive to our appointment to look over the car, another sales lady was showing the vehicle to a walk-in client. When it was mentioned to her that the specific vehicle had an appointment and paper work ready to be signed, she shrugged the comment off and had said "too bad", very unprofessional in my opinion. Not to mention how embarrassing it was for not only the sales man we were dealing with, the time he put in to arrange everything, put together the papers and our time as well. The sales lady clearly has no idea the reflection that attitude makes upon a company/ brand or respect for her co-workers.

Unbelievable service!!- I have never bought a vehicle before but was very concerned about getting the stereotypical "car salesman". I went to Trent Valley Honda where I was helped by Keith. He was beyond awesome! Never once did I feel pressured, he was knowledgeable, friendly and made me feel very relaxed during the whole process. He made sure I test drove different vehicles so I could get a good feel for what I wanted and sent me notices when something I did want came up. I have always gone to TVH and just assumed that the service I received there was standard across all dealerships. Not the case at all, recently had to take my girlfriends car into Subaru and they were awful!

Last week I needed a break light fixed, TVH managed to fit me in on a crazy busy day. All the staff were super polite and I wish I had of gotten the guys name that came out to the parking lot to actually fix my car. He deserves to be acknowledged as he did an amazing job and was very professional.

My daughter recently moved to Peterborough and needed to buy a used car, and was specifically looking for a Honda. We debated about driving into Toronto, but decided to look locally first. Very good decision!

Keith was our salesperson, and he was quite helpful. He was able to show us several cars that fit her price range and talked about the advantages and disadvantages of each. And there was no pressure. He was able to answer all of our questions, and give us advice, as we are new to the area.

I am very disappointed with the service I received today!
I called regrading a quote and to book my car in for a airbag sensor light as well as I also am in need of winter tires changed and since I have to do then I figured it times to also do my break
pad!!

I called and left a message because the service department was tied up! I stated in the message I am looking for a rough quote and to book my car in!
I received a call back within the half an hour and the women who called me first off was rude from the start!! As well was unable to tell me how much it would be to get my break pads done and couldn't get me quote!! And instead of finding out the answer or getting someone who was able to give me a quote !! She just said she did not know how much it would cost??????? I am questioning why i received a call back from someone who doesn't know what she is doing! And didn't even try to find out the answer!! This is honestly the worse service I have ever received!
I will be taking my car to another dealer and let them do the over $500 worth of work I need done!!
Maybe get someone who is knowledgeable about servicing questions and you wouldn't of lost a customer!

I went into get a spare key cut for my CRV and after being bumped back and forth between departments who were trying to decide who would do the job, I had a new key for just over $140. I used it to drive home with no problem. Next day, Saturday, i jumped in my vehicle and it would not start. Tried a few more times without getting it to start so i then called a tow truck. Towed my vehicle to my private mechanic and borrowed a car for the week end. Monday morning my mechanic ran some tests and called me to say he couldn't find anything wrong but wondered if something had happen to my key. I brought in the new spare key and the CRV started. So i brought both keys back to Trent Valley and they redid the security. All the keys work again. I explained what I went through because the key wasn't cut properly. No response from the staff and no offer to compensate for the problems caused by not doing the job right. I said I wanted to complain. I received a business card and phone number. No offer to pass the problem forward or get someone in the building who had authority to respond that day. I left a phone message with the assistant service manager explaining situation, again no response.
This is very poor customer service and should be embarrassing to the team. The lack of response from the staff was sad and showed me the team doesn’t care much about the customer experience and/or the dealership does not have any systems to use to follow up with, when mistakes in their work have a negative impact on their customer.

We have been with Trent Valley Honda for 20 years now, and have consistently had great service. I'm on my second Accord from them now - the first one, bought in 1999, gave be 17 years and over half a million kilometers.

We've just replaced my wife's 1999 Civic with a Honda Fit. Keith Gallagher, the salesman who helped us, did a superb job helping us find the right replacement vehicle.

I don't think it's possible to praise the folks at Trent Valley Honda too much...

I'll try and keep this short. I went in yesterday for an oil change and to get my brakes done. Rotors and pads. They said they will do a brake inspection. I knew this would take a while so I used their shuttle service and got dropped off at the mall. 2 hours later I get a call someone asked me about doing a brake inspection, I said I know go a head and do it. Since it's been 2 hours I asked if they at least did the oil change. They did. So 2 hours later I call asking how everything is going. They say they can't find the key to take off the tires to do the brake inspection. I wonder why they don't call me to ask where it is. Anyway I say it should be in the middle console. They say they will check and come back saying it's not there. I get picked up at the mall an hour later. It's been 5 hours for the oil change I pay for it, take my key, go to my van and check the middle console. The key for the tires is there. I show it too them and leave. As I drive away I notice the sticker for the oil change that they are supposed to put in the top left corner of the windshield is not there. I drive back and ask if they actually did an oil change. I don't know what to say . Now I have to get my brakes done somewhere else as I don't trust them.

I have had some positive experiences here, but most times I have not. As a young woman, I find that TV Honda regularly tries to take advantage of me by attempting to sell me services that are not essential, and will consistently lie to me about how important certain repairs are. I've had services recommended to me that will cost around the same as or more than the overall value of my vehicle.

Another thing that really bothers me is their website. Just by entering a phone number, you can find someone's make / model and mileage of their car. This is a HUGE privacy and safety concern. Not sure if this is TV Honda specifically, or Honda in general, but this is a problem which needs to be addressed.

Unfortunately this review isn't about the Sales department. The Service Department will try to take advantage of you and scam you every time you bring your car in. I had essentially no issues with the car for the first 3 years of owning it.

Had the rear brakes replaced and the front brakes serviced in September 2018. This service was fine. At this point they told me my brakes would be covered under a lifetime warranty, as long as I follow a regular service schedule.

In Jan/Feb of 2019 I brought the car in with a muffler issue. The Service Department told me that my muffler had multiple holes in it and I would need to replace my exhaust system for roughly $800. I declined and took it to a muffler shop, where the issue was simply a rusty and broken flange, which they repaired for $70. They took me into the shop to see under my car where my muffler and exhaust system were in perfect shape, and had no holes whatsoever.

On May 25, 2019 I brought in the car for a brake service. The Service Department told me my front brake pads were 3mm and I would need to replace the pads and rotors, the cost was roughly $500. I was also told that only my rear brakes were covered under their lifetime warranty, so this would not be covered. Since my last experience was rather poor, I didn't trust their word and declined the service. It was only after I declined that I was told by the Service Rep that she would contact a manager to see if it could be covered by warranty. She told me a manager would contact me within the next 3 days, which never happened. I took my car to a trustworthy mechanic to check my brakes. The mechanic told me my brake pads are at 5mm and my rotors are fine and I should get around another year out of them.

Trent Valley Honda sells great vehicles. Their Service Department however, will attempt to charge you extremely high prices for services your car most likely doesn't need. If you are not knowledgeable about cars, or trust what their Service Department says, they will scam you and completely take advantage of you.

Update: as of June 5th, no one has contacted me about my brakes, or reached out as they said they would in the comments.

We bought a used Odyssey here last year.
We were told that under NO circumstances could we get "normal" tires with air. That there was a $400 fee for nitrogen.
We move to Kingston and guess what? They don't even have Nitrogen at the dealership here.

Our experience is that of "sleazy used car salesman". $400 useless upsell that we can't even use after moving. Slimy. Dishonest.

Bought and have my car serviced here. Overall, I've been happy and haven't had any issues. Location for service is a bit awkward as it's just the right distance away that you don't feel like it's worth getting a shuttle back home so I usually hang out in the waiting room. If they had desks where you could work while you wait, that would make it a little better.

Just the usual tricks of magically making the final price of the car larger as you get closer to closing the deal. But this happens everywhere and it happened with open honesty here.

Knocked one star off since they haven't responded to any of the complaints below.

I tryed ordering a part over the phone 3 times in the last 6 months and every time they said it they ordered it I would her nothing back in months. So I would call a couples months later after hearing nothing to cheak on it , and every time they would say I wasent in there system.

If you need something don't call because they can't get anything done right over the phone.
