I bought a used truck there a few weeks ago. The truck is amazing, really nice folks as well. The only catch is one of the USB ports is broken and they didn’t give me a keypad code. The manger, Adam, reached out after my first review, he had me in there the next day. Everything is repaired and works great. This is an excellent establishment. I will buy my next vehicle here. Extremely dissatisfied with the service experience. I bought a 2019 GMC sierra 1500 ( July ) , on top of the multiple recalls I have had, my brakes squeal all the time. The first time this happened I brought it in to the dealership because the sound was coming from the front. The dealership changed out the brake pads the first time no problem and no charge to me. The sound has now moved to the rear brake pads and squeals when applying any brake pressure. I spoke to the Service advisor about this and was told that I should instead contact GMC customer Service since they will not, as a dealership ,replace my pads like the first time since they did this job out of pocket and ate the cost of Parts and labor. When speaking to the GMC Customer Service Rep they told me this is a warranty issue and the dealership should be replacing the pads free of charge.

Typical dealership experience. Brought a vehicle in for service and repairs which were completed with some issues.
Would recommend taking pictures of everything before having any work done.
One of my rims somehow broke so I had to source my own from Kal Tire since they could not get anything similar to the rims I have. Bought two rims so that the front matched and the back matched - specifically told them to put all used or worn parts in the back including the rims.
They did not - They completely disposed of one good rim which I could have used to replace one of my existing rims (they are now discontinued so I can't find them anywhere).
Tire pressure was not filled to vehicle standard when I arrived. They also disposed of the TPMS that were in the rims that were thrown away instead of putting them into the new rims. The little things make for a less than pleasant experience and more work and $$.
That being said JT was able to help correct a few service issues - he recalibrated the two TPMS that were left alone and filled my tire pressure to what was listed on the door of my vehicle. Unfortunately he was not hired as a service technician, but I wish he was.
A service manager also promised to reimburse me for the good rim that they disposed of, but we will see if the cheque comes in - will update later if I remember.
Overall, I had an average experience. Could not follow instructions and only some of the service was completed to standard upon pick up. They do get good pricing for new tires but the service could be better.

Stay far away!! I recently purchased a 2019 demo model from capital GMC, right away we noticed the dock charger wasn’t working properly in the car. We were told it was likely because of an older phone however my husband has an iPhone 11. We toke in to the service department as advised. They had tested it and told us everything was fine, however it isn’t working!! This is a brand new Vehicle!! I’m seriously scared what will go wrong next. There is no accountability here whatsoever.
I just recently leased a 2020 GMC from Capital GMC Buick. The sales staff were very transparent and honest. No hidden fee's or working of numbers to try and make the deal look better than what it was. I highly recommend this dealership to anyone looking to purchase or lease a new vehicle. Great experience.
Service is top notch, but communication on follow-up appointments was off for me, I had to phone them to see if my part was in, which it was, but no one called, so my repair was delayed, which was inconvenient.

I just dealt with Jas at Capital GMC to purchase my used truck. Everything was dealt with over the phone and through pictures and videos as I am from out of province. Jas was professional, very friendly and quick to respond to all my inquiries. When I arrived in Edmonton to pick up the truck, everything was exactly as discussed. Although it is challenging to purchase a vehicle "remotely" I was very happy with the service he gave and would definitely recommend the dealership to others!
We are just starting looking at different vehicle options and stopped at three dealerships in Edmonton yesterday. The sales folks in the first one totally ignored us and continued chatting with each other until we were leaving. In the second one we were greeted but the sales rep did the bare minimum to get us on our way. At Capital we were greeted, listened to, and great suggestions were made to help us figure out the right fit for us. It was great meeting Ye and Adam. I'm sure we'll be back!
My experience: superb communication in the beginning but ended up with my time completely wasted with lack of communication, 5 hours of nothing done.
Brittany gave me speedy responses online and I was quoted tires+rims+installation quote right away. They will beat Costco prices.
A different associate on the phone told me my tires and rims would "definitely" arrive by the time I come for my 8:30AM appointment. Never promise something you are 100% not sure of. That is what you call empty promises and can get you in trouble. Please train your associates this.
I arrive for my appointment at 8:30AM. I waited until 12PM to approach an associate on the update of the installation. I was told on the phone that they needed my car the entire day, I am assuming it is because they in fact did not know when my tires and rims would arrive. By 1PM, I was told to come back tomorrow to do the installation as they would arrive late afternoon (making it too late to do the installation). Mind you, I live far up North...
The following next morning, it took them 1.5 hours to complete everything. Compensation for time wasted? None. At least one apology? None.
This review is mainly for the oil change experience I had. It was easy to book on the website and they accommodated me in less than a week’s notice. Didn’t know they had an express oil change bay and was super pleased to go through the whole process. You sit in your vehicle and wait while they work on it in front of you. I bring my own oil for oil changes and they were happy to use it for the service. In and out in less than 20 minutes; quicker than my normal dealership across the street.
I had bought a new truck off them in April 2018 but it was stolen here recently. I called them up and they immediately gave me even a better deal than last time. Once the insurance came through I was very happy overall at the level of service from the manager, sales and finance. Will be going back on my 3rd in a few years!
Kelvin Singh is amazing!!! He helped me look for exactly what I wanted and he wasn't one of those pushy salesmen who try to make you get all the extras. Kelvin goes above and beyond for his clients and I will never go to a different salesman ever again.

as an out of town driver, I needed to stop in quick and get help. Trina in parts department was quite efficient. I was thinking I needed a 2 part item but she advised what I actually needed and they had it in stock. worked perfectly and stress free for me !

I was looking all over town for a dealer with an SUV that wasn’t super priced jacked. I liked the 2018 GMC Terrain but it was too expensive for me. Then Brittany at Capital GMC went the extra mile and helped me get an awesome price, and even found a way for me to trade in my old vehicle for more than I was offered all over town. I am very happy with my Terrain. Incredible on gas and very comfortable.

Bought my Elevation here about a month ago, and would definitely send friends and family here. Kelvin was great to deal with, he knew the vehicle well, customized it the way I wanted, all for cheaper than any other dealership I spoke to. I dealt with Goldie to buy my mustang from this dealership. Goldie went above and beyond to provide the best customer service. Even talking with the manager was good during negotiations. Although the initial dealership response and service seemed great, post-purchase of the vehicle has led to lack responses and little help in regard to an issue they caused. Specifically, they said the vehicle had a feature in which it did not and despite being told they would make it right, have yet to receive any response despite me trying to keep in touch for a solution. The rest of the experience was mediocre at best, but stating a feature that isn't actually there just to make a sale is my primary concern.
Hope to hear from them regarding this edited review but based on the post-purchase experience I've received so far, I don't have the high expectations as I once did of them.
Parts counter is beyond fantastic - really genuine people working the counter that were able to answer my questions.

We bought our truck here a couple of years ago now, but we didn't regret it one bit. Both sales people we were dealing with were excellent, and I honestly don't think we would have gotten a better deal anywhere else. By far the best truck buying experience we have ever had.

From the moment i went inside i felt like they actually cared about their customer. Everyone was friendly, i dealt with Lawson. He was awesome. No pressure sales here! I also had Brett that also checked in with us to make sure i was comfortable and taken care of. When i did decide to purchase a vehicle it was 5:30 pm on a Saturday night, they close at 6 pm. I loved the experience and help almost two years ago when I bought my Terrain from Caleb and Adam. When it came time for my daughter to get her first vehicle, of course we went back. Awesome Experience and Wonderful Staff! I was very pleased with how Jessica and Mike worked together to help me trade in my used 2011 Fiesta and got me into a newer (slightly used) 2015 Chevy Cruze! They were extremely friendly & helpful and had my best interest in mind. I would highly recommend them to anyone looking to purchase a vehicle.

Over 4 years ago my wife and I were in search of a new vehicle, GM has always been our preference but we checked Ford, Toyota, Dodge, etc and also went to Lakewood Chevrolet but all of these places had something in common either they didn't have the right vehicle or the salesman were annoying and pushy.
One afternoon I stumbled upon the dealership and a salesman came over, Randy.. He was not pushy, not in your face, he was exactly what I was looking for. He asked me how I was doing what I had been up to that day etc. Didn't even mention buying a car or selling or anything until I started asking questions. He is very friendly and easy to get along with. I remember he even let me take the car home that night to surprise my wife and show her. Thanks to our wonderful experience with Randy and his witty jokes we have been coming back time and time again to this dealership. I can honestly say he is a stand up guy and has gone above and beyond the norm for us. Whether the vehicle we are looking for is on the lot or not he always makes sure we get what we want. His motto is " find what you like, we will talk numbers after " and he has always demonstrated this by giving us a fair price. Since our experience 4 years ago we have purchased 3 brand new vehicles and 3 used... for a total of 6 vehicles from the same dealership, and the same salesman. The reason for our purchases all being from this dealership is his exceptional customer service. I now look forward to my next purchase, rather then dread seeing a salesman who is just after a quick buck. Randy to this day periodically phones me every now and again asking me how everything is going not just with my vehicle but within my life.. That is what you call a true salesman. Whether I am getting my vehicle serviced or just a part or just want to stop in and say hello Randy always makes time. I have recommended Randy and Southgate to many. When I walk in and start talking with randy its like seeing a family member you haven't seen in a while.
