I would like to say Devon Day (Birchwood Ford) was very informative when talking about purchasing a new truck. She enlightened me on the dealership incentives and was more than willing to go the extra mile to provide me with the same options as a previous and less customer service based dealership. The trade value on my truck in comparison to what I was offered by another dealership was much more appealing from Birchwood. They didn't have what we came for, but did a quick check of incoming stick and said they would be in contact. No stalling or up sale tactics. Only 3 stars cause the service side of this Birchwood is horrible. Never had anything done in service that didn't have to come back for at least once.

A year ago when I bought my car everything was great you guys went above and beyond. but now I don't know I brought my car in to get some work done. The price did not match the quote I got as it was way more than expected. As this was shocking I phoned my dad so he could explain the bill to me. Also would like to add I had an appointment at 10 a.m. by 3 I still hadn't heard anything. Phoned and got no answers. I walked in at 4 to find out that my car had been ready. The work on it only took an hour and a half. At that point I received the email saying my car was ready. I would have appreciated if things were more explained to me better. Instead of being shocked. On the other hand everyone was nice but I'm just not impressed.

Service department leaves a lot to be desired. Game of pass the buck between service dept. and Ford of Canada. Mis-information, improperly repaired product. It's bad enough that the transmission on a vehicle with 52000 kms. has a transmission failure, between Birchwood Ford not expressing my concerns about the repairs and Ford not allowing the dealer to repair the product in such a way that it wouldn't fail again. Transmission had failures during their road test, and failed again after less than 200 kms. of driving. The answer from Birchwood and from Ford of Canada is to be okay with their poor repairs and when further failures happen, to be okay with the inconvenience of not having my vehicle with no courtesy cars offered. Poorly run operation from the dealership up to Ford of Canada. Last Ford I will ever buy.

Excellent customer service at the desk, but always get a second opinion on the suggested work.

I got into the habit of taking my car here for oil changes while it was on warranty, and just continued that out of inertia. It was fine while the car was new, but now that the car is a few years old, I can't seem to go there without walking out with a quote of $1,000+ for recommended work.

The last time they noted that the rear arm bushings had fully separated and the rear shocks were seeping, and quoted over a thousand dollars for that and related work. It was a little surprising since the car was driving fine, so I declined the work and took it to another mechanic for a second opinion.

Within 10 minutes, the other mechanic informed me that there were no issues - the arms were totally intact and the shocks were fine. This is probably the third instance of Birchwood Ford recommending unnecessary work in the last year or so. Since I don't know that much about cars, I could see someone easily agreeing to pointless work - the customer service desk staff are friendly and accommodating, so it would be easy to take their word for it and just go with the quote, and end up poorer in the process.

It's also worth noting that they get weirdly aggressive if you give them a bad review on the survey they email to you after a service. When I gave them a poor review the previous time, I had a customer service person call and then later a manager; rather than try and solve the issue, they just wanted to explain why my opinion on the service was wrong, and wanted me to fill out a new survey. I declined to redo the survey.

I got a very frustrating experience while buying my Ford Explorer at this dealership. It was in a chill morning of a Saturday, feels like-42. My wife and I saw the car and we liked it immediately. Everything went smooth until I sign up the papers and leave the shop. Couple days after I realized an huge scuff on the pumper ( I know I should checked it out before). And then I sent Salesman an email asking him for helping me, but he said the price was accordingly. Few days later I sent Finance Manager an email asking for copies of the papers that I signed with him. This have one month now, and I am still waiting for his answer.
