Scion is a brand that was established under the larger Toyota Motor Corporation in 2002. The company was founded with goal of targeting the younger Generation Y consumers. As a result, the vehicles are designed with a focus on the exterior aesthetics, performance, and value. The current product line consists of the tC, and FR-S. Only recently was the brand introduced to Canada in 2010.
The FR-S is a sports coupe that was a joint project by Toyota and Subaru. The vehicle was designed with a focus on performance and handling, with its front boxer engine, rear-wheel drive (RWD), and sport tuned suspension. The front mounted boxer engines allows the vehicle to have a lower center of gravity, resulting in greater handling and performance. The Subaru BRZ is similar to the FR-S with the exception that the drivetrain will be all-wheel drive (AWD) and minor changes in exterior styling. The FR-S is loaded with technologies including Electronic Brake-force distribution (EBD), Smart Stop Technology, and a 2.0 litre four cylinder boxer engine.
